The Z9-MINI just got cut to $850

For those of you who don't think these ASICs will have a big impact you really need to re-think. 10,000Sol/s for $850 is crazy - That's 13 1080ti's for the price of one.

The first batch buyers are also being send two ASICs for each one they purchased and are being sent $250 vouchers.

I assume this is being done to make way for the bigger model. Either way, Equihash difficulty is about to rocket.

Workstation boards with support for allot fo GPUs

    Posted: 05 Jun 2018 08:20 AM PDT

ASUS and other manufacturers offer Workstation boards in the their lineup, these boards can take decent modern cpus and allot of ram. Exactly what I need.

Anyone knows if these boards were tested to support large number of GPUs? 8 +

Here is link to what I am talking about on ASUS https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Workstation-Products/

I am not mining, I am using gpus for inference. But I use similar setups for GPus

I appreciate if someone can point me to any tests that were done with workstations boards.

[Request] Asus Dual RX 480 4gb Elpida BIOS

    Posted: 05 Jun 2018 04:40 AM PDT

I recently bought one of these cards second hand and it came with a Hynix BIOS. After cleaning it up and repasting, I discovered that it has Elpida memory. Upon booting into windows, the GPU would just crap itself and black screen. Could a kind soul with this card and memory please provide me with a (preferably stock) version of their BIOS?

    24/7 Rig Monitoring with Alerts

    Posted: 04 Jun 2018 01:39 PM PDT

    Hey guys,

I and my friend have made a monitoring solution for Mining Rigs. We wanted something that would get rid of the need to constantly check in Team Viewer if our rig was ok and also get notified instantly when we have problems with our GPUs or Rig.

We wanted to be able to view at a glance, on the phone or on a webpage: 1. Power Consumption 1. GPU Temperatures 1. FAN Speeds 1. And have alerts for all these things.

We wanted to have a solution for both Windows and Linux OS and be able to send e-mail and also instant alerts on Telegram via a bot so we knew all the time what is happening with our mining rig.

So we ended up using our IT skills and coming up with this Monitoring Solution, that we are currently offering it for free to the best of our server capacity.

We already have 45 members from the NXS community (our soul coin that we mine with love) and from WTC mining also.

Please be patient with us, we are just 2 guys, working on this and we usualy make the accounts at night after work, some delays might happen.

RIG Monitoring 24/7- For NVIDIA GPU Cards ONLY (atm we don't have support for AMD cards)

Here is a screenshot of how a Dashboard of a Mining Rog Looks like: Rig_Monitoring_Dashboard

We have a full Install and Introduction here on Google Docs: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1r8G5IrOd2kAe_DOTYHXAZCVDeVj8nY-ETA2trEosswk/edit?usp=sharing

For registering an account please fill in this form: https://goo.gl/forms/cFdYcFozazoZBu5C3

    FAQ:

    What is RIG Monitoring

Rig Monitoring is a platform for tracking your Rig and GPU stats.

    • Setting up mail alerts for things like temperature, wattage usage, interruptions… etc.

    • Setting up telegram instant alerts for notifications on the spot.

    • Keep track of multiple Rigs with ease in 1 place.

    • Keeping track of things without the need to enter on TeamViewer on each machine.

    • Temperature, Power Consumption, GPU Usage… track everything.

    How does it work?

    • We make a tailored script for your Rig/s

    • That script needs to be added to Task Manager (Windows) to run each 4 minutes.

    • The script will send each 4 min encrypted information to the server and populate your Dashboard with the data.

Pre-requisites needed for it to work:

    • You need to install cURL on your PC and then add the script we will provide you (based on your configuration that you send us from the form below)

Note: ALERTS are not set by default, you need to email us and tell if you want to opt-in.

Installation process * 1st step: Account creation

For registering an account please fill in this form: https://goo.gl/forms/cFdYcFozazoZBu5C3

2nd step: Install cURL for Windows.

3rd step: Test if cURL is working.

Start -> type CMD it will open a Command Prompt In the Command Prompt type curl and press ENTER You should have a window just like this: check the doc

If you have the same code, it means you installed cURL successfully.

4th step: Set-up the Task Scheduler

Next step is to take the File we provided and set-up a task for it. To do this you need to: START-> type Task Scheduler and press ENTER

Now you need to Create Task (right panel like in the picture up)

Put Triggers like in the example up.

Put Actions, and hit Browse and select the file we gave you.

After all, this is done, select the Task you just made and hit RUN. This task will run each 4 minutes and report back to the server.

Final step: Log-In to your new Dashboard

Go to a Browser and enter https://grafana.virtx.ro with the user and password we provided you in the e-mail.

    Android Dashboard "App"

Another thing we wanted to share with you is how to get your dashboard as an APP for Android. Using Chrome Browser on Android, log-in to https://grafana.virtx.ro with your user and password and then just Click on the 3 DOTS on the RIGHT SIDE and Click on ADD TO DESKTOP This will create an Icon with the web-page and it will be like having an APP, much faster access to your information. Cryptonight Profit Switcher: For pool mined coins and NiceHash

    Posted: 04 Jun 2018 03:21 PM PDT

    Cryptonight Profit Switcher

Cryptonight Profit Switcher is an extensible open-source .Net Core console application that helps you to always mine the most profitable coin on a pool or an algorithm on NiceHash with Xmr-Stak. It is very useful for AMD Vega GPUs because it can detect hash drops and reset the GPU(s) but it can be used with any GPU that is compatible with Xmr-Stak.

    Github:

    https://github.com/cryptoprofitswitcher/CryptonightProfitSwitcher

    Features

    • Profit switching: Between pool mined coins and NiceHash algorithms
    • Watchdog: Compares your actual hashrate with the expected hashrate and runs a reset if certain conditions are met.
    • Reset: Restarts the miner and runs a user-defined Reset script
    • Performance: Resource friendly with 0%-CPU usage
    • Supports all algorithms: CryptonightV7, CryptonightHeavy, CryptonightLite, Cryptonight BitTube Variant

Please visit the Github page for further informations and the download.

    Question about RMA’ing a GPU

    Posted: 04 Jun 2018 06:38 PM PDT

Just built my 3rd Mining Rig (6 x EVGA 1070TI SC editions) and, upon starting it up, one of the GPUs fried. Literally. Smoke came out of it.

I disconnected it, and all the others, and cautiously eliminated all possible causes. It was simply, as best as I can tell, a faulty GPU. The other 5 are working fine and the rig is now mining away in crypto bliss.

Before I call the 1-800 number inside the box, is there anything I shouldn't say?

Anybody ever have this happen to them?

Computer all of the sudden unusable while mining?

    Posted: 04 Jun 2018 05:51 PM PDT

I've been using Awesome Miner and Claymore to mine for MiningPoolHub. During the past few weeks, I have been able to mine and use my computer without noticing any major performance hit.

Today, out of the blue, my computer now runs very sluggish when mining any coin and using any miner. I have 50% usage of Desktop Window Manager and 50% Client Server Runtime Process, so I'd guess the performace hit is coming from those two battling it out... Not sure why this is happening though.

I've tried powering off my computer, unplugging it and holding the power button to cycle the voltage out of everything and it still happens.

Anyone else had this happen to them?

    Vega 56/64 not happy?

    Posted: 04 Jun 2018 12:26 PM PDT

So I have been through everything I know how to do and am at a loss. I followed the consolidated mining guide and got @ V56 and a V64 running with the precious guardian program. Used the "safest" undervolt available and run the V56 at 1050 memory and V64 at 1100 (tried 1050mhz also with same problem). About 6 months ago they were happy at these settings and running for days/weeks in a row. I am still getting consistent hashrate of ~3950 Cv7 but now I'm getting some bad shares (~4%) and about a restart per day.

Any ideas how to get them running for weeks consistently and without bad shares?

I've done all the suggestes tweaks to win10. Running a 1000w Corsair PSU. In the winter I noticed a good about of static electricity but that has stopped with spring/summer rolling in. I also have a 4x 1080 ti rig running on the same circuit and it is dialed in and running for weeks without restart.

    Thanks in advance!
