Why Computer Storage Could be the Next Booming Blockchain Industry Posted: 04 Jun 2018 11:07 PM PDT Computers storage issues are as old as the computer itself and while the means of storage has changed over the last decade; going from small HDs to unlimited cloud storage platforms, there are still some significant improvements that need to occur before large-scale computer sharing platforms can really take off. Many believe by expanding cloud services to the public via blockchain-based sharing platforms, these problems can be addressed. Platforms like Filecoin offer a partial solution to the problems of cloud storage sharing but there are still hardware issues that must be addressed such as what if the person storing the data isn't online or their computer has a failure, their data is breached, the cat spills a drink on the pc, the list goes on. These are very real concerns and while platforms such as Sia encrypt all of the data stored; there are still ways in which this information could be delayed. One innovative approach to this problem would be to provide users with a hardware solution. In this way, you could streamline the entire process and ensure that the best possible results were attained by network users. The ULABS platform is the first player in the cloud sharing industry to provide such an option as part of their system. ULAB users are sent the UBBEY box. The UBBEY box solves many of the current issues plaguing the market such as securing data ownership, data recovery, and it can even mine YOU coins, which are the tokens used within the ULABS platform. This is a new concept that I think provides users with a better option when compared to bogging down their own PC directly. There are some inherent problems with hardware packages. For one, the UBBEY box will run you $199.00 plus, depending on where you live; there may be substantial shipping cost added to that total. Also, the UBBEY box comes in only two sizes 1 -2 Terabytes, which could prove to be not enough once the market continues to develop. At which point, ULABS will probably need to offer an upgrade that could potentially cost another couple hundred bucks. Despite these shortcomings, the ULABS project is further ahead in terms of integrating separate hardware specifically for use within the data sharing network. There could be fierce competition soon as you can expect more digital asset sharing platforms to emerge over the coming year and there is a good chance some will duplicate this feature in their own designs. The team behind the ULABS project is following Apple's approach to the market in that they are creating a human-centered design that provides users with a simplistic interface that is focused on user-friendliness. Combining their hardware option with an intuitive interface is sure to push adoption further in the marketplace. Especially when you consider that other options can leave a user needing to regulate their PC specifically to these services. Sharing your digital assets has always required some patience and research but thankfully, there are now a variety of platforms already making serious headway in this sector. From my research, these are the top blockchain sharing platforms at the moment. • Filecoin • Sia • Storj • ShareRing • ULABS Sharing your unused data is a viable way to make some extra crypto and it appears as if this area of blockchain development is set to flourish. There is definitely a serious demand for this technology and the market is still virtually untapped. For now, the success of the market will depend on future innovation and implementation. IOTA's Qubic Explained #2: How will it work? Posted: 05 Jun 2018 01:04 AM PDT

Cryptocurrency aims at the $5.1 Trillion Forex Market Posted: 04 Jun 2018 02:24 PM PDT The IOTA foundation recently disclosed more details about the long awaited "Qubic" project, while it will be some time before the platform is released, the implications are staggering. PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHERAs imagined in the Qubic teaser video, here is a set of qubics (specifically: an oracle machine, an outsourced computation, and a smart contract) which work together and evolve over time to do something useful - in this case, foreign exchange trading.
In case you don't realize just how large the foreign exchange markets are.. Trading volumeThe forex market, according to the 2016 Triennial Central Bank Survey of FX and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives markets, has a jaw-dropping daily turnover of $5.1 trillion. The US dollar continues to remain the dominant vehicle currency. The New York Stock Exchange, or NYSE for short, is the largest equities exchange based on total market capitalization of its listed securities, and has a daily turnover of around $40 billion. According to SIMFA (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Associations), the average daily trading volume for US government treasury bonds is around $530 billion. While the US has the largest bond market in the world, followed by Japan, it does not even scratch the surface when placed next to forex. Although the above is very impressive, what does it mean to us as individual speculators? Well, trading a highly liquid market, such as forex, enables participants to receive quick trade execution. Furthermore, it limits the amount of trading gaps which can make a market considerably difficult to trade! Forex markets have a *DAILY* turnover 1000X larger than IOTA's current market cap. With Qubic, people will be able to automate trades on the forex markets by utilizing outsourced computational power and machine learning to dictate real-time trades. Couple this with the expansion in machine learning we will be able to realize with such a large network, and if everything comes together perfectly, IOTA has a shot of becoming the de-facto intermediary currency on the forex markets. whether or not IOTA becomes the standard, and small market share in this market is worth about as much as the entire NYSE. The way I see it, trades with IOTA on forex may not be long investments, however it will raise our volume, and float value immensely, and this is only ONE of the opportunities Qubic enables. We are obviously a ways out from completion of this platform, but IMO this changes IOTA's trajectory from the moon to mars. [link] [comments]

QUARKCHAIN – clear price manipulation on Binance Posted: 05 Jun 2018 12:43 AM PDT The clear price manipulation of the QuarkChain price on Binance is obvious. Quark are indulging in a new kind of ICO ploy, which is to sell a minimal % of tokens, pay the extortionate Binance listing fees, then use Market Makers to pump the price. That way they can sell a huge amount of tokens for way above ICO price and make significantly more funds. [link] [comments]
