Posted: 04 Jun 2018 11:10 AM PDT Hi guys This is confusing the hell out of me when I try to do this on GDAX, hoping someone can help me out so I will try to keep it super simple. Let's say I buy 1 BTC at $5000. I want to cover myself if the market crashes so I set a stop loss for 1 BTC at $4500. I also want to take profits at certain points (eg. $5500, $6000, $6500 and $7000). This is where the confusion comes in. I would like to set up limit orders to sell 0.25 BTC at each point: $5500, $6000, $6500 and $7000. However, I can't because it says I have insufficient funds (funds are tied up in the stop loss I set up to cover myself in case of a sudden crash). Is there any way around this? I don't want to be glued to my computer screen all day, I was hoping to be able to cover taking profits and protecting myself using stop orders/limit orders. Cheers for your help... Correlation between a drop in BTC price and setting alt orders... Posted: 04 Jun 2018 10:18 PM PDT Hey so I have a question that I don't think has been answered. Let's say BTC is trading around $7500. I buy some, set some orders for some alts that I'd like to enter and I log off. If BTC drops in value, let's say $7250, how does that affect the current order I set for the alt when BTC was at $7500? I'd like to think that it wouldn't be too much of a difference but I'm not 100%. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Jun 2018 02:16 PM PDT Hi all, I have been a long time lurker and over the last several months I have seen a few posts about retail investors requesting tools or developers to assist them to make arbitrage trading between exchanges possible. I have spent the past 6 months developing a SaaS product that allows users to signup, enroll their exchanges, set their custom config and have it trade on their behalf. Currently I support BTC, ETH, LTC, and XRP between USD. Currently the supported exchanges are GDAX, Gemini, Kraken, and Bitstamp. The tool finds a spread greater than the range you configure, I buy from the cheapest exchange, transfer to the most expensive, and sell once it arrives. I also support text message alerts and cost basis calculation. I am still working out pricing models but wanted to see if anyone is interested in a limited release early beta program. EDIT: Based on feedback, I will be making the transfer option optional. Currently the other exchange immediately sells if funds are available, but still preforms the transfer.
