    Tether Transparency Report

    Posted: 20 Jun 2018 06:37 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Earlier this year, Tether engaged Freeh, Sporkin & Sullivan LLP (FSS) to review bank account documentation and to perform a randomized inspection of the numbers of Tethers in circulation and the corresponding currency reserves.

As part of the engagement, FSS was tasked with investigating the U.S. Dollar (USD) balances in accounts owned or controlled by Tether at its banks, including randomised selections of the appropriate confirmation dates, and reporting to Tether as to the results of such inquiries.

FSS requested and was granted authorization to perform unlimited examinations of the balances at Tether's banks, had communications with authorized representatives of those institutions, and reviewed hundreds of pages of relevant documents.

The official Tether announcement is available here: https://tether.to/fss-report-transparency-update/

The FSS report can be viewed in its entirety here: https://tether.to/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/FSS1JUN18-Account-Snapshot-Statement-final-15JUN18.pdf

Please ask away if you have any questions, otherwise I'd like to invite you to read the report linked above.

All the best, and thank you for your constant support.

    Coinbase pro & Gdax worry...

    Posted: 20 Jun 2018 05:15 AM PDT

So I trade a couple litecoins with the trading pairs on Gdax. June 29 Gdax will become Coinbase pro. I am not thrilled but I doubt they or anyone cares about my preference. I am in NY so Coinbase is one of the few that let me in and out of bitcoin due to bitlicense....

While I can change my coins to a different exchange I prefer not to... But I am quiet worried with the Coinbase pro/Gdax switch. Should I be worried? This hacking of exchanges makes we worry and wonder...

Should I do anything to protect myself? Should I put in Coinbase vault until after the switch? Should I move my coins out until after it is done? Should I cancel any/all orders to be safe?

I know everyone is sure nothing will happen... But then again hacks are real and exchanges are losing major money...which means people are losing massive investments. This worries and just want to cover my own ass.

Anyone got any valuable input? Thanks.

Market talk - Bitcoin is king. Tips on trading and discussion on recent price action

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 12:22 PM PDT

Talking nothing but Bitcoin analysis and price discussion for an hour with a few institutional, ex JP Morgan traders. They talk about the latest moves being all manipulation or just demand driven along with proper risk management.

About an hour long podcast, "Buy or Sell, What The Hell?!" It might seem long, but there are some great concepts in there.

Bithumb South Korean cryptocurrency exchange was hacked and the regulator immediately suspended its services. Although, it was too late as around virtual coins worth $30 million were already stolen by then. The official statement came through their social media account on Twitter which resulted in the falling of the prices of other digital currencies too

It's amazing that Bitcoin is still rising in price at all considering the level of pushback amongst traditional banks

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 08:44 PM PDT

For example, QuadrigaCX which is the largest Bitcoin exchange in Canada, just had 2 of it's banking partners cut ties with it within the past 2 weeks... pretty much at the exact same time... almost as if it were coordinated.

I still got my money from them... but I was left in a lurch and extremely upset for a short while... as were hundreds of other customers.

If I hadn't been trading and cashing out Bitcoin for the past 7 years... I would probably be a bit more concerned... I remember absolutely freaking the fuck out on CaVirtex back in the day when they were a month late on my $20,000 cashout... Sorry to any support reps that might be reading this now... I was yougner then, and the money meant a lot more to me than it does today.

All I'm saying is... the banks are cutting our exchanges off at the knees and making a lot of people really anxious and uneasy about buying into Crypto... and still it rises... incredible!

Why market caps in crypto might be a better indicator than you think

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 11:37 AM PDT

    Food for thought.

So I am reading about the scooter startup "Bird" that is going for a $2b valuation shortly after reaching a $1b valuation which is ruffling some feathers in the VC community apparently.

And at the same time, I am hearing "market cap in crypto is meaningless! Anybody can trade 2 bitcoin for $7,000 each... that doesn't mean the entire market is worth $100b+"

Which I know is more true about the lesser traded alts but you get my point.

Bird is valued at $2b right now... only by a handful of people sitting around probably a single table in one room in silicon valley right now.

Bitcoin is valued at over $100b right now... by at least 10s of thousands of small to mid sized traders.

What valuation is more "real" in your eyes?

    Discuss!

EDIT: Spelling... jesus christ what is wrong with me today?!?!
