Worthyt Beta: Send Litecoin (or other crypto) on YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, or Wikipedia to support content around the Internet

    Posted: 20 Jun 2018 08:08 AM PDT

Hey guys, I wanted to introduce Worthyt, a Chrome Extension that lets you show support for support videos, articles, tweets, etc. on different websites. It's a project my friends and I have been working on for a while now and just released beta for a couple of weeks ago.

You can send via Litecoin, some other cryptos, or just plain-old money. We're a little different than normal tipping systems because we want to support the platforms as well since we think that while content is great, having the platforms that can easily deliver the content is helpful, too.

Worthyt is a Chrome Extension that works by adding a button to each site that you can click to send any amount of Litecoin (you can set how much you send per click when you first sign up, or change it in the extension at any time). Currently in beta, it defaults to sending USD but you can change that by going to the extension -> preferences -> selecting Litecoin as the "active currency." We are pushing out an update this week that will default the active currency to whichever one you have an available balance for.

There isn't a subscription or anything; you can deposit any amount to fund your account and you can withdraw at any time also.

If you send with regular money, 75% goes to the content creator, 10% goes to the platform (e.g., if you send on Reddit, then we set aside 10% to Reddit), 5-10% goes to transaction fees for processing fiat, and 5% goes to powering Worthyt. On the other hand, if you send with Litecoin, 90% goes to the content creator, 5% goes to the platform, and 5% goes to us. There's more flexibility with sending Litecoin because we don't deal with traditional transaction fees that we otherwise see with fiat.

While the main goal of supporting content over the Internet is obvious, one of our other goals of this project is to create more adoption for cryptocurrency. We're hoping that this tool can help educate the users on the differences paying in fiat vs crypto, while allowing larger adoption by giving users the choice of crypto or fiat--for those uncomfortable with crypto, they can just send in fiat.

edit: wanted to add the intro video we worked hard on, too

Litecoin has been the most used crytocurrency on our site so far

    Posted: 20 Jun 2018 07:50 AM PDT

It's been about 3 weeks so far since we launched our crypto only liquor store site and so far LTC users are the most active. Bourbon and Scotch by far have been the most popular items. Looks like we can run the free ground shipping promotion until the end of this month and we'll move to a flate rate shipping model afterwards.

Launched site sell Litecoin stickers for Litecoin at CryptAhoy.com

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:55 PM PDT

I've been a long time hodler and believer in Litecoin. Last week I launched a website to sell stickers and while I'm starting small, I will be ramping up this and several other crypto-currency projects over the next few months.

Would appreciate some constructive feedback on the website.
