PSA prices of GPU’s are falling off a cliff. Posted: 20 Jun 2018 08:05 AM PDT Take your best guess on prices in 3 months. My guess 1080ti & vega 64 at $400 after rebates. RemindMe! 3 months [link] [comments]

Nightmare mining stories thread Posted: 20 Jun 2018 06:00 AM PDT To bring up morale of GPU mining sub. Got any funny stories or nightmare experiences whilst mining? Here's mine : built an 8 cards AMD rig. 1200w server supply and a 650w supply. Didn't have a kill a watt. Got one the other day. Measured the two loads on both psus. Server one was within threshold. 580w at peak. Okay. Measured the 650w. 780w peak. How has it not burst into flames? Lol anyway I moved some stuff around and now the load is balanced across both psus. I'm so dumb haha tldr: get a kill a watt meter first if you're gunna build a rig. Cool story bro. Using Integrated Graphics for display while mining with GPUs (Nvidia and W8.1) Posted: 19 Jun 2018 11:43 PM PDT I've been trying to use Intel's Integrated Graphics for display while mining with my GPU's but no result despite all the research I've done so here is my story so that you can debug it perhaps: My system: Windows 8.1 (64) - Intel I7 7700 - MSI Z270 M3 - Nvidia GTX 1070 and 1060 That's my personal computer that I use but I spend most of my time at work and sleep so in the weekdays I use it to mine even if it's little, coz I like the idea. 1- I tried plugging the HDMI cable into motherboard's HDMI port so I thought I could get display there. NOPE. 2- I found out that I must choose IGP over PCI in BIOS. OK 3- In order to choose/activate IGP over PCI I tried to enter BIOS but I never see BIOS screen in the opening. There is no display until the logon screen of Windows. 4- I figured that has to do with my GPU's so I unplugged both of them and opened my PC, HDMI cable being plugged into the motherboard's HDMI slot. (BTW I don't think it's natural that I cannot see BIOS or any display at all until the windows logon screen while my GPUs are plugged into my system. Is it normal? I disabled fast startup too) 5- So it worked and I was able to open BIOS screen. YAY. 6- I found the related option and set it to the IGP over PCI so I must have succeeded! 7- I plugged my GPUs back into my system, plugged HDMI cable to motherboard's HDMI slot and started the system. NO DISPLAY... 8- I plugged HDMI cable back into my GPU (1060). Here was the display in the monitor. I switched to 1070 by plugging the cable into 1070 and again there's the display, NP. 9- I entered Device Manager and under the Graphics, there were 3 entries. Previously there were 1060 and 1070 only. Now additionally there was Basic Intel Graphics Driver, in the first line. 10- Seeing it was named as "Basic Intel Graphics Driver", I thought there's something wrong with the driver and I should install Intel's Integrated Graphics Driver. a- Tried updating it automatically via Windows itself, it said it's up to date already. b- Downloaded the most recent driver manually and tried to setup. NOPE. It said: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software." 11- Of course I googled this error and tried many 'solution's on the internet. NOPE. So here I am now I don't know the basis of the problem. Whether is the lack of Intel Driver or something else? I think like : if it's the lack of Intel Driver, it shouldn't provide any display at all when all GPUs are unplugged, but there's a basic driver Windows provides that is sufficient to provide display when there's no GPU plugged. TLDR: Purpose: - To get display via On-Board Integrated Grahpics as I mine with Nvidia GPUs. So that I will have better hashrate + wont have to disable mining while I use my computer. Problem: - Plugging HDMI cable into motherboard's HDMI port didn't work when I even selected IPG in the BIOS. - Cannot install Intel Integrated Graphics driver. [link] [comments]

Bminer vs DSTM once and for all Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:53 PM PDT Yes another comparison, but this will be the ultimate comparison, I promise. Hopefully someone has already done this and I can stop before I even start, please drop a comment if you have done this. Here it is-
Known Variables:
Disclaimer- I am not in any way affiliated with Bminer or DSTM, I, Like many of you, am just looking to maximize my profits in these downturns. Also, I hate mining Zcash, I don't support the project, and I don't support their decisions. That said, nanopool has probably the best statistics page for any pool and none of the ZenCash pools could offer anything close. TAKE NOTES POOL OPERATORS, this is what a TON of us are looking for in a pool. I will obviously update this throughout the day: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PKUzrqCLa-X1mnFGIVNrRgOJ4OUhRM5cnFAm1zzHrHA/edit?usp=sharing [link] [comments]
Fee free eth mining on MPH until end of month Posted: 19 Jun 2018 09:03 AM PDT From their header.. "Pool will lower ETH pool mining fee to 0% until 30, Jun." Enjoy. https://ethereum.miningpoolhub.com/ [link] [comments]

Any experiences with the Biostar TB250? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:11 PM PDT First board appears to be DOA, so I'm returning it. Online, it looks like a lot of people have issues with it Edit: Could it be because I'm using a Celeron? Edit 2, for clarity--system won't post, so I can't mod bios or change settings [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Jun 2018 12:25 PM PDT I wanted to set up GPU passthrough but my Celeron is not ready for VT-d. Now I am searching for the cheapest CPU that supports it. My mainboard is ASRock H81 Pro BTC R2.0 so it has to be a CPU with 1150 socket. Does someone know if this board supports this virtualizion? I think I saw the option in the UEFI but I read that this ensures nothing? [link] [comments]
