    New Automated Liquidity Provider Software

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 06:18 AM PDT

We've just released an Automated Market Making software for our cross-chain atomic swap application which enables decentralized value transfer between different blockchains e.g. BTC<>ETH.

The software allows EVERYONE to provide liquidity and determine their own price.

It supports automatic order matching, withdraws, refunds, portfolio rebalancing, email and slack notifications.

Eliminates the need to lock your funds. Instead, the funds are used directly from your wallet only on demand.

The one thing you need to do is to set up your liquidity provider node.

If you encounter any problems, don't hesitate to ask for help in our Telegram https://t.me/jelly_swap and Discord https://discord.gg/3fCbp9U channels. We can also have a call to help you F2F.

A contract with very interesting cryptoeconomics (Whale trap?)

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 07:08 PM PDT

So I can't tell if this contract is meant to trap whales, or if it was set by a whale and meant to trap small fries. But it feels like a trap set by a whale.

The contract is on etherscan here.

On the surface it is a game of brinksmanship - the stakes get higher and higher until everyone gets too scared to continue and then the game stops.

Each game has one loser - the second to last person who plays - and everyone else gets a portion of the loser's money. So for example if 40 people play, one person will lose all their stake and everyone else will make 10% profit.

There are three things that make me think this might be a whale trap.

    1. The loser is not the last person who plays. The loser is the second to last person that plays. That is an advantage for a whale. A whale can always come in with more money no matter how high the stakes get. So they can always be sure that they are the last player, and therefore not the loser.
    2. Almost everyone who plays makes a 10% profit. There are two exceptions: the loser (obviously), and the last person who plays. The last person who plays makes a 20% profit. That means the whale gets the biggest reward.
    3. There is another fishy thing about the payouts. The money to pay out the 10% profit that goes to most people obviously comes from the one loser. But the winners are paid out before the loser loses their money. Most people will get paid out their 10% profit before the loser even plays for the first time. That seems fishy. The contract seems to hold a small amount of ETH and I assume that is what is used to pay out winners before the loser loses. But what happens if the stakes get higher than the amount of ETH in the contract?

So my guess is this is some kind of whale trap.

Vitalik Buterin - Decentralization is not necessarily anti-regulator

    Vitalik Buterin

Decentralization is not necessarily anti-regulator. Building your application in a way that does not let you steal or cheat (eg. non-custodial exchanges like @loopringorg) reduces risks, which is something many regulators *want*.

    ETH + ERC20 historical balances

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 10:02 AM PDT

For tax filing purposes I need to provide the following information:

For multiple ETH wallet addresses I want to know the following:

    - ETH balance for a specific historical date or block height (i.e. 1st of January, 2019)

    - same applies for all ERC20 tokens I held in my wallet

    - same applies for all ERC20 tokens + ETH I had on a specific ethereum smartcontract.(Etherdelta)

Deltabalances does this all but only for the current balance and not for a historical date. However, the ease of use and especially the fact that it "scans" which tokens I have automatically is a big plus for me.

Now I know that etherscan has a functionality to easily check my ETH balance in my wallet for a specific date, which is cool but it's not usable for ETH on the smartcontract and also not usable for all ERC20 tokens I have (note: I have like 100+ ERC20 tokens in multiple wallets...) There is a function on etherscan where you can check the balance of a specific ERC20 token but I need to fill in my wallet address, token contract address, decimals and the date... you can imagine it will be undoable with so many tokens and addresses.

I also heard that there are (paid) services which can provide me this info, that's also fine altho maybe there is already something which can do this? Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Question from a beginner

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 02:21 AM PDT

Hi guys, I wanted to ask about ethereum 2.0

Is it going to be completely different and separate from 1.0? Is 1.0 going to be dismissed because of 2.0?

Or 1.0 simply going to become 2.0? And so, it's totally safe to keep funds into 1.0?

I'm sorry if I sound silly, I heard rumours for both that's why I'm concerned.
