Bittrex is holding my money hostage

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 02:24 AM PDT

More than a month ago my account on bittrex was blocked. In the support ticket #1232567 they asked me about the source of funds. I tried to deal with their support patiently and gave them all the information, tons of documents' scans were made. All those documents are on review for more than 3 weeks already with absolutely no result! And of course they give no estimates on how long it will take. Their support simply ignores me.

I'm in mining business for a long-long time. And it's the first time I'm in such a situation. Bittrex just holds my money: I can't withdraw it, I can do nothing with it. And I must say it's about $50000 worth of funds.

I've read a lot of similar stories here on reddit. It seems Bittrex just don't care about their users. And I'm starting to believe they just want to rob me this way. That's not a way to treat your customers.

So if anyone can give any advice, I'll greatly appreciate it. Please upvote and share this post if you can. I guess it's the only way to draw Bittrex attention to my problem!

Let's not be naive. Bearish post.

    • It has been over 9 years since the Genesis block.

    • That is 9 years for an "exciting", "innovative", "revolutionary" technology to exist on the modern Internet, where great ideas spread like wildfire. We all need to acknowledge that 9 years is practically a lifetime in Internet years.

    • It is illogical to draw an analogy to how long it took the Internet to catch on. The early Internet took many years to go mainstream because we didn't have an alternative Internet at the time, to promote the modern Internet idea. In other words, there was no process (natural or forced) for great ideas to easily go viral like there is today.

    • The beautiful thing about Bitcoin is it can be anything. The motive of the buyer/holder is what determines Bitcoin's practical purpose. Bitcoin does in fact, reflect all those negative labels spread around the press. We shrug off labels like pyramid scheme, ponzi scheme, negative 'bubble' labels (bubble/burst cycles are not inherently negative), etc. But, Bitcoin is in fact tulip mania. Not because of the code or the developers. They are neutral, but the motive of the buyers and how the market reacts is what I am talking about. We the people, define Bitcoin with why we buy it and how we use it.

    • The belief system that powers these bull runs is outrageous. Mania and FOMO exists in all markets, but it is completely outrageous in the Bitcoin space because the practical substance and usage has been in the shitter for 9 fucking years. No body cares about the practical usage. To make matters worse, even the people who claim to care... the people who get all vocal or pretend to be experts about the practical usage at "Blah Blah Crypto Conference Expo 2018", are likely lying most of the time. They don't use Bitcoin, they speculate. Everyone simple wants to get in before the next guy prior to the next bull run. Shrugging off what has happened to all the new adopters (The Aunt Bettys and Uncle Joes that got involved after Thanksgiving dinner) that got in at $15K+, because "WE WERE ONLY AT $1K A YEAR AGO!!!!", is an immature and shortsighted perspective to have.

    • You cannot compare the drop from $19K to where we are at now, to any other previous drop. Drawing a comparison by %s is ridiculous. We are in a completely different stratosphere when going from $300B to $100B. And to compare that to drops from $10B to lets say $3B is laughable.

    • Every day, more of the less technically savvy, mainstream audience question what the fuck they are doing. IT'S A NEW ASSET CLASS!!! STORE OF VALUE!!!! HODL!!! LOOK AT HISTORIC CHARTS!! They question what they are doing because their education (thus far) is driven by uninformed zealotry repeated by the 20 year old children who made 500%, and society always equates financial gain to "talent". And making 500% in crypto over the last few years practically means you failed :)

This is actually good for Bitcoin.

I have a strong feeling that US-China trade war will be extremely good for us

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 05:48 AM PDT

Already JPMorgan and others are calling for diversifying either in Gold or emerging markets. Well, there is a third asset that is even better I think when they start panicking. I don't expect big hedge funds will pour their money in bonds or keep it in cash (because USD is projected to decline with this war).

    So....

There was initial speculation that crypto would do well if stocks fell. Are the cryptocurrency parallels with the stock market now confirmed?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 09:25 AM PDT

The global stock markets are falling. As we know today, bitcoin also took a tumble, following the overall market dip. We have seen this parallel time and time again. Is it safe to say that the trend is that bitcoin will fall if the market falls. If so, what are your thoughts as to how much they correlate?

Please keep on topic about the bitcoin and stock connection... I'll say this now as background and so it doesn't need to be discussed further: Yes, we know the catalyst for the stocks falling is initially due to a certain American leaders economic and trade incompetence.

    Bitcoin - New Trend Beginning?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 03:04 PM PDT

Hello traders. Today I'm going to give you an update on bitcoin and where the price is heading next. I will be writing in a longer term perspective.

There are really great stuff coming for bitcoin that makes it fundamentally strong investment at these low levels. Following news and keeping eyes on these projects that are coming to bitcoin might give you an idea. I'm trying to keep this unbiased and also it is worth to keep in mind that this is not an financial advice. Do your own research and if you decide to invest or trade these decisions are totally up to you.

Overall sentiment and atmosphere is very bearish. Main reason for this is that a lot of people bought at the high prices, expecting high returns but each time it showed signs of a bullish reversal, downtrend resistance was hit and it dropped even lower. This is likely a good buying opportunity because when overall sentiment is pessimistic, markets are likely to recover soon after. This is known as "the herd effect" when majority of people follows a bit behind and have made some losses.

Anyways let's get to the technical part.

In the both charts (Linear & Log) - both downtrend lines got violated and it got pierced through. Linear managed to recover back above of the uptrend line and which also rejected strong support level found at $6.800.

The linear chart (Longer term) is showing us signs of recovery on the daily timeframe.

StochRSI has taken oversold position, pointing upwards and has a plenty of space to move upwards. RSI agrees with StochRSI when it took oversold position, bounced and now is pointing upwards Hammer pattern which can be found at $6.800 level. The price is heading towards the first resistance zone which has acted previously as a support area. This area should not be neglected as the price might have a minor pullback from this level. More details on this down below.

Confirmations are very important when it comes to trends. The daily candle needs to close above of $8000 resistance level to give a bullish confirmation and that the price is wanting to move further upwards or needs to break above of it with force to indicate that buyers are back in the game.

To see full bull mode on, the price needs to breach above of the second resistance level which can be found in between of $9.000 level and $9.500 level. This is why it's crucial to follow the price movement near to the first resistance zone and see which direction it will take from there. It's worth noticing that after huge downtrend, recovery should not be expected to happen quickly. Recovery from a bear trend takes time and will gradually turn in to a bull trend.

The 4h chart (medium term) is showing signs of exhaustion and minor pullback should be expected soon.

StochRSI + RSI takes overbought position Hovering close to resistance zone ( formed by $7.500 level and $8.000 level) where it's likely to have minor pullback before moving back up again. No bearish divergence other than on the 1h chart (not reliable / confirmed yet) Conclusion: The daily and fundamental aspects of bitcoin are showing that with these prices it's likely a good opportunity to open longer term trades. If it does manage to break above of the first resistance zone, then there are two ways to enter this breakout:

The breakout The retest of the breakout For the short term traders minor pullback should be expected and for the longer term, it's starting look good.

DISCLAIMER: Please be aware this is not financial advice. You are responsible for your trading and investing decisions. It is highly recommended to do your own research before investing anything.

History of BTC on Fireside Crypto Podcast

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 09:00 PM PDT

    Hello everyone,

I've recently found a podcast that caters to going in depth in regards to the crypto market and space. I listened to this episode of History of BTC on Fireside Crypto Podcast and figured this subbreddit would enjoy. I listen on Google play but they have iTunes as well. This episode isn't as in depth as their others but you can get the jest.

    https://play.google.com/music/m/Dgy3l4pdou7wdylp6iyvf2ey3ne?t=Bitcoin_Timeline_Bitcoin_Episode_7_-_Fireside_Crypto_Podcast

Thanks again. Also I don't wish to break any rules. I just feel like most of you out there, that not enough YouTubers or Podcast go in depth with a project and I think these guys at Fireside Crypto Podcast are onto something.

How to maintain constant USD value via a short position.

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 06:16 PM PDT

This is really a basic question about how leverage works on sites like Bitmex or 1Fox. In particular, I'm trying to figure out what 1x leverage means. Is that a non-leveraged position, or is that in fact a position double the size of the amount I've posted?

To illustrate, say I wanted to maintain the value of my position constant against the USD (sort of what USDT or DAI do). Say I have 1 BTC deposited. What do I do? Keep a deposit of 0.5BTC (long with no leverage) and go short with the other 0.5BTC at 1x leverage?

    Do you consider joining cryptofunds?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 01:27 PM PDT

    Guys, hey!

What is your opinion of cryptofunds? I have been thinking about them and maybe it is better to trust them doing operations as they keep always in touch with the market. An overwhelming number of ICOs also doesn't give a chance to assess them all normally, professionals are needed. What is your opinion?

Anyone else flipping the verge "announcement"?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 12:01 PM PDT

Announcement about an announcement, to be exact. In since about 800 sat, question is when to start scaling out. May be nice to ride BTC momentum while it lasts. For the record, I typically base my BTC trades on TA but some of my biggest hits have been quick-trading news in alts.
