Free 50-70kWh per month what to do? Posted: 12 Jan 2022 02:26 AM PST Hi guys, new to the subreddit and is looking for the cheapest way to get started, I have free 50-70kWh per month and want to utilize it, any suggestion for starter rig - cost and potential ROI? I want to see if my plan is viable, thanks. [link] [comments]
Ravencoin hashrate has moved to Firo Posted: 12 Jan 2022 03:33 AM PST It seems the RVN compute power has moved over to Firo unfortunately for me and those that are mining Firo. Has anyone else noticed an increase in difficulty/nethash on their current coins that they are mining? [link] [comments]

Quick question about T-rex Miner Posted: 12 Jan 2022 03:01 AM PST Just wondering if there is a command to force T rex miner to restart. Like ctrl+c shuts it down, is there something similar for a restart without having to shutdown the whole miner and restarting it? Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jan 2022 02:48 AM PST Now if I were to build a rig is it possible to use a pcie usb expansion card. Or is the pcie to usb that you get with risers a different card then a usb hub card. Sorry I'm a noob [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Jan 2022 04:44 PM PST While initially a good idea for a smaller pool to increase individual awards, they just can't compete. Last block found on December 23. Only four active miners with less than a total of 100 MH/s. A waste of mining time. And with today's halvening, there's better options. [link] [comments]

Gpu mining in Texas(or anywhere warm)... in a shed/garage Posted: 11 Jan 2022 08:53 AM PST All your warm weather miners can you help me out. I'm looking at adding a room inside my garage to move all my mining stuff to. Asics and gpus. I know the asics can handle the heat but I'm not sure about the gpus. I'm thinking no AC but plenty CFM. July and August will be the hottest months with heat in north Houston 100° possible. I can always move some of the miners inside for a couple of months if needed. But I'm thinking if I create a wind tunnel through the gpus first before entering into the room with the asics that might work. I've seen videos of the guy in Florida that created those wood boxes on his patio and they appear to run fine all summer long. What are your thoughts? What's your setup like? Should I keep the Asics and gpus separate? AC for the gpus. And CFM for the asics? Im trying trying to get a plan together. If feasible I will run a 100 amp subpanel to the room. What are you doing? Any insight appreciated. Thanks. [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Jan 2022 07:27 PM PST This is my Filter wall. https://imgur.com/a/gOdYCfC When I started building building out, HVAC was a concern/issue. And I think its the one aspect that people fail to think about as they grow past the hobby stage. I had issues trying to move even 10kcfm. The filters I chose either restricted the air to much or would not stand up to my conditions. What I ended up doing was making a ribbed frame with rolled Merv2 filters. The ribs give me 4x the surface area to filter from. I just used 3/4" EMT for the vertical posts and 2x4s for the top and bottom. The filters are clamped to the wall between two 1x2's with a bolt through both. Hard to test for a while, with it being so cold where I am. But initial results look promising. This I would've done differently/will change later. Instead of using one big clamp to hold the filters to the wall. I would have cut smaller sections one for each of the rolls of filters. I would have also made it easily movable or put it on a pivot so that I could swing the entire frame out of the way if I need to get to my fans. I would've also tried to find wider rolls of filers, but these were cheap. Err and let's all just ignore the section that I cut to short. . . I hope this gives you guys some ideas! Posted: 11 Jan 2022 03:23 AM PST so I have a lot of old hardware that I really cant find a use for. most of it is 1GB GPUs which I cant use for much gaming anyway. I'm new to mining so I'm still trying to figure out how everything works so id appreciate any help with this. id be happy being able to mine anything with them and in my circumstances power for the system would be free anyway so anything the machine makes would be profit. are there coins that would work for this situation?
