- Hey guys, can someone explain what steaking is please? I see you can get 4.5% APR on steaking Ethereum. Is this worth it? I am planning on keeping my Ethereum until 2030 or longer. If I steak, how long do I have to steak it for? Do I get 4.5% APR every month, year? Or as long as I keep it steaked?

Posted: 25 Nov 2021 09:04 PM PST I mean, this is a no brainer right? We've all thought about it. You collect pokemon nfts, obviously the rare ones have less availability. You can "chill" with or see the pokemons in augmented reality etc. But obviously it will take 50 years for pokemon to even consider this. No-brainer? Yeah i know. Will probably never happen 🥲 edit: love all the ideas and current similar games you guys are suggesting. keep em going! [link] [comments]

I don’t fully understand how current Layer 2 blockchains are “linked” to the Ethereum blockchain Posted: 25 Nov 2021 12:49 PM PST So from what I understand, L2s are completely separate blockchains that allow protocols to migrate to the separate blockchain without having to change the code/design. I understand how rollups are connected to the L1, which L2s are currently using rollups? And what makes a layer 2 different to any other blockchain that is EVM compatible? Thanks. A step-by-step roadmap for scaling rollups with calldata expansion and sharding Posted: 25 Nov 2021 11:47 AM PST https://notes.ethereum.org/@vbuterin/data_sharding_roadmap This takes EIP 4488 (or 4490 if we want) as a starting point, and then describes a phased sharding rollout that unlocks more and more data space with increasing security over time as the logical next step. The goal in all of this is to increase the amount of data space available to rollups, decreasing their fees as fast and as soon as possible. Would appreciate any feedback! [link] [comments]

1 Million Ethereum Burned Since August Posted: 26 Nov 2021 06:20 AM PST Over 1 million Ethereum have been burned since the cryptocurrency went through a technical upgrade called the EIP-1559 protocol in August, according to a Tweet on Wednesday from market data aggregation and analytics platform CryptoRank. Background: The EIP-1559 protocol, also known as the London Hard Fork, resulted in some Ethereum being burned to lower inflation of the coin and limit transaction fee volatility. Details: According to the CryptoRank research, the 1 million burned Etherum would be worth over $4 billion. Numbers: Since August, the price of Etherum has been up by over 25% and reached a new high earlier in November. Final Thoughts: Most Etherum traders will say that the EIP-1559 protocol has been positive, but we'll have a better idea about the long-term impact in 2022. Hope you enjoyed this commentary. Is there any reason why hodling wETH would be a bad idea? Posted: 26 Nov 2021 08:32 AM PST Sorry if this has been asked before (I did search but could not find anything), or if this is a dumb question. I was just wondering if it's safe to hold wETH long term. My mining is paid out in wETH on Polygon and if I can avoid the fee to bridge it that would be NAIS! As far as I've been able to gather, the fact that the smart contract is there and won't change suggests that it's going to be fine for eternity. Is that correct, or are there other factors? Maybe there are possible regulatory concerns in the future? For clarity, by "long term" I mean several years. [link] [comments]
I am shocked and disappointed from all the hate/negativity that Eth is getting Posted: 25 Nov 2021 06:46 AM PST I get it - gas fees are high. But isn't the sole purpose of having layer two solutions designed to have fees that are just a few cents? Aside from that aspect - truly I would like to know any objective reasons aside from gas fees that are making users switch to other platforms [link] [comments]

[Concept] Web3OS - Decentralized Web3 Operating System Posted: 26 Nov 2021 06:52 AM PST Hi everyone, I plan on creating a new project to help promote the adoption of Web3 to the everyday user where everything within the Web3 space works "out of the box". I drafted a very-short document outlining the concepts. Let me know what your initial thoughts are, and if you have any ideas for core components of the OS. [link] [comments]

Desperately need help: Transaction stuck Posted: 26 Nov 2021 06:15 AM PST Hi All, I was using wormhole bridge to convert ETH from Solana to Metamask (WETH). For some reason the transaction is stuck (https://etherscan.io/address/0x7c8b594a144ff301ec3b14cb91ea15944403f167). When trying to "redeem" on wormholebridge it comes up with an error "value is too low". How do I go about redeeming my WETH? Thanks! [link] [comments]
How much do you have trapped on L1? Posted: 26 Nov 2021 01:15 AM PST I know everyone is moving to L2 these days and eth is now the 'settlement layer'. But for those unfortunate souls who didn't bridge their funds before EIP1559 - how much do you have trapped on the main chain? I have ~$1k staked in VISR, earning nothing because they upgraded their contract ~$2k delegated to Matic staking, to a defunct node operator so also earning nothing. ~$3k in UNIV3 liquidity pools that moved out of my liquidity range ~$1-2k in airdrops, staking rewards, liquidity interest, etc. that would cost more to claim than the coins are worth Worst part is… the fees are not tax deductible. So if I withdraw these to move them I will actually end up not only paying fees but also owing taxes due to apparent gains… meaning I have a loss on pretty much everything. Don't get me wrong, I love Ethereum.. but I wish we could have an L2 week or something where they quadruple the block size for a week just to let poor bastards get their funds out of limbo Anyone else in a similar position? So am i doomed to just let these sit? Posted: 25 Nov 2021 12:49 PM PST I just logged into metamask forthe first time in a while and checked my balance and well. Its large. I have no idea howto swap these to tether, eth, weth, hell anything really. I bought them 152days ago and was "holding to the moon" https://etherscan.io/address/0x77a01e78900913be20ac4d2fe5d88394a068157c [link] [comments] |
