Your $20 crypto investment is great! Don't get discouraged when you see people posting about dropping a few grand on a coin on a whim.

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 07:34 PM PDT

Did you invest a modest amount of money in crypto, feel excited, then saw people on Reddit investing huge sums, and your excitement faded?

You are investing for you. Please don't spend more than you can afford to lose because you feel your investment isn't large enough. I know how it feels to own 1/2 of a coin, visit that coin's subreddit and see people talking about how they just picked up 25 more coins (even though it took me 3 months of DCAing to get half a coin). I quickly realized I invested in something I believe in, and my investment size is right for me. I did at first feel the urge to put more money in so I don't miss out on huge gains, but I need my other fiat and I am NOT okay with losing it. So I didn't gamble.

I think there are a lot of new investors who can safely afford to lose only small amounts of fiat. I bet there are a lot more than you think. They just don't post about how they picked up $8 more of a coin.

Friends, make the investment that is right for you and don't worry about how much other people can afford to invest.

Google Removes Its 2018 Ban on Cryptocurrency Wallets and Exchange ADs

Caution! This sub has some of the worst investing advice I've ever seen, and it's full of people who think they're Warren Buffet because they won a billion dollars in the lottery.

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 05:41 AM PDT

Let me begin by saying that if you invested $1,000 in bitcoin when it was first released, you are most likely very wealthy today. But don't let that detract from the fact that it elevates you to the status of someone who wired $1,000 to an anonymous person on the internet in exchange for some magical beans.

You'd be stupid not to have money invested in cryptocurrency these days, but keep in mind that it's almost entirely based on speculation, and a lot of your success is based on pure luck. In a bull market, everyone is a brilliant investor. People who post here pretending to be seasoned investing gurus are more often than not people who got lucky a few times. Have fun with your Baron Rothschild memes, pretending that everyone who invests in cryptocurrency will become a millionaire.

This is not the first time in history that a generation of young people has gotten rich by jumping on a wild speculation train. People had the same attitudes at the height of the dotcom bubble. "Twenty-five percent returns in a year?" Those are scrub figures. Anything less than 100% is not acceptable!" We all know how that ride ended, and this one will as well. This ride will come to an end, whether it ends in a major bust or becomes a mainstream financial tool dominated by Wall Street. Take advantage of the high returns while you can.

Lastly, If you have the money to do so you can manage your risk by diversifying. Yes, the goal of diversification is to have a completely uncorrelated asset. Because all cryptocurrencies are highly correlated with one another, diversifying requires diversifying in a completely different asset class. Investing in another coin is not considered diversification; it is equivalent to investing in McDonald's and KFC and calling it diversification.

As always, thank you for your time.

Brave (BAT) and Origin Protocol (OGN) have joined forces once again and are celebrating their strong and long lasting partnership with the launch of an exclusive NFT drop named TABONG

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 04:25 AM PDT

    https://preview.redd.it/aw5fsmms51371.png?width=1895&format=png&auto=webp&s=8b8c08870b3b32a331cd18cb14ba19d15c10ef11

I remember Brave opening their swag store on Origin Protocol's Dshop platform but I had lost track of the subsequent collaborations.

Since I am a Brave browser happy user and hold some BAT as well as a decent bag of OGN plus staked ones, I am very happy to see this was meant to be a deep partnership rather than just a one-off superficial one. Also by what I read from both team members' interviews, it looks like they're preparing more things together.

These projects have both strong fundamentals, goals, long-term plans and exceptional teams coming from top-notch internet giants.

I had a blast following the last NFT live auction where bidders were 'fighting' in order to overbid each other during the last minutes of the auction, it went from like under $100,000 to over $760,000 in a bunch of minutes.

This is cool already but I think is only starting to show the surface of a much bigger potential for their NFT tech use cases and it's great these excellent teams are working together.

I am confident we will hear about them both many times again and for a long time in the crypto space. Brave as the greatest Browser and with a great rewards system for their users through BAT and Origin Protocol as NFT leaders and among DeFI top 10 projects.

The TABONG auction will start next week and will last only 30 mins ( more info here).

I am setting a reminder and if you're intrigued by the future of NFTs I suggest you do that too to watch how this works. If they're not getting as crazy expensive as some previous drops I'll try to bid as well as I want to get familiar with the process, soon this could be the standard for other NFT product sales.

"We've been able to bring some excellent web3 utility cases to market through our partnership with Origin; from crypto payments with BAT and ETH through the Brave Store, to NFT sales through our BAT Community. We're very excited to collaborate with Origin on the TABONG NFT sale, and look forward to collaborating even more with Origin on future projects." — Luke Mulks, VP Business Ops, Brave

"We're ecstatic to deepen our partnership with Brave with the TABONG NFT sale. As the NFT market rapidly expands from cryptocurrency early adopters to more mainstream audiences, we're excited to work with Brave on bringing innovative NFT use cases to Brave's 32M+ user base. Brave's commitment to a privacy-centric and decentralized web are perfectly aligned with our aspirations to enable creators to engage and interact directly with their fans and collectors through NFTs." — Matthew Liu, Cofounder, Origin Protocol

I believe in the future of crypto more then just about anything else. Ive held since September 2017. But today i had to sell.

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 10:26 PM PDT

Well im not gonna tell my whole life story, but hopefully it can help some of yall out, as reading alot of yalls stuff has helped me out over the years.

short story, i saw in sept of 2017 bitcoin was making new highs. Having herd of bitcoin in 2012, and seeing it still be relevant, and at 2500$,i figured i needed to look into it.

so after a week of starting to dive down the rabbit hole, i did the logical thing. i quite my job, lived out of my car, and spent the next 3 months glued to the computer. i had to learn finances, economics , computer science (i built a computer and actually learned linux as well as ran a bitcoin node) as well as a lot more. all the while bitcoin is running to 20k, and everything and everyone is going crazy. it was an insane time, and ill never forget that feeling.

i didnt buy that much before it went parabolic, and my highest i bought some bitcoin was at 9500$. fast forward a month, and the beginning of the bear market starts. but im actually in it for the tech. i really believe its the only way for a peaceful revolution. i had taken some profits (again small amounts) so i never sold and watched my alts and bitcoin go down 50-90%

but every week i would dca in. every chance i got some extra cash i bought some alts. after a couple months of living out of my car i had saved up a bunch of money so i moved into an apartment. got a better job with my new self taught tech and finance skills so i had more money i could afford to throw into crypto. not a lot, but an extra 10$ here and 20$ there.

bear market was rough. lotta days i thought i fucked up and i might be wrong. but i really believed in this stuff, and i never stopped learning about it. i listened to Ivan and lark as well as many others everyday, and i gotta be honest that really helped from a mental perspective.

anyways 2021 comes around and things area great. havent sold anything, cause i believe in the tech, and wanna hodle untill i can just spend my crypto and dont need to sell it for trash fiat.

but today i had the opportunity to buy some land. not a lot, but its land. so i had to sell some of my crypto for it. not gonna lie after i hit the sell button i almost got sick. i dont want to sell, but ive wanted a small piece of earth as my own all my life. and if it wasnt for crypto i wouldnt have this chance.

now while i did sell a couple different crypto assets, i immediately used the funds to buy eth, and did a cdp to get dai to sell for cash to pay for the land. my liquidation price is extremely low so even in a bear market im safe. and this way i wont miss out completely on the insane bull later this year. i just gotta rely on eth to hopefully make up for the potential gains of cryptos i sold.

anyways i just wanted to tell this story cause i know there are lots of yall who are new to this, and while im not a smart man, i wanna share the biggest tips that have helped me here.

you can get rich in a week, or lose everything in a second. only play with money you can lose. in fact consider it lost until you sell and receive your good/product/service or trash fiat. dca and time in the markets beats trying to time the markets.

make a plan with contingencies, and stick to it.

day trade works for 10% of people, and unless your willing to spend alot of time to learn, dont dabble with more then 50$-100$ trades. same for leverage.

diversify, have a couple major plays and 10% of your bag should be moon shots.

find good quality sources of information and vet them. so much trash crypto tubers and podcasts. but theres amazing sources for practical and solid knowledge. just really do research and vet whoever your listening to

and most important learn. i listen to an hour or two of crypto related content every day. practical knowledge and skills are something that doesnt go up or down, it only increase your value.

dont let crypto be your life. have passions and hobbies so on the red days you can put down the screen and do something fun or productive to distract you.

and finally, no one ever went broke taking profits pulling out a little here and there is never bad. but never sell everything , always keep a small moonshot bag. and have a hodl bag of quality projects and stick to holding them for at least 4 years.

anyways i hope this helps someone out.i know most of the is just the usual tropes and sayings. but ive found great wisdom and power behind these mantras . i hate to sell some of my assets ive held for s long, and it really hurt. but im still in crypto, and i will never fully leave, cause im in it for the tech😸 and the peaceful revolution it brings. good luck y'all!!!

Where do you send people to learn about Bitcoin who have never heard of it?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 01:09 PM PDT

Really wondering what resources everyone uses to send people to learn about Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin - and even other altcoins. Please post links and info in the comments!

If you have a recommended resource - what do you like / not like about it? Is there anything you would change about it? Anything missing?

If you don't have a place, what info should ideally should a site contain? What coins should be covered?

Please don't use this thread to shill your token, just looking for links and examples of good places for muggles to be able to learn.

(I should mention that I'm also building some resources for this purpose so I want to learn more about what is existing now.)

If you are interested in helping to build or curate content - or if you have content that we can license, please let me know in the comments below!

If you're wondering why BNB and DOT are pumping

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 10:03 PM PDT

If you use Binance, you will most likely have already seen this, but if you don't use Binance then allow me to explain.

This pump happens every time there is a new launchpool advertised on Binance. The launchpool is a farm of a new token which is launching on Binance. Generally, you can stake BNB, BUSD and one other coin. This time, the coin is DOT. So as you might imagine, there are going to be a lot of people who are buying BNB and DOT right now in order to secure themselves a higher yield from the farming rewards of the new coin, presently the new coin is ATA (Automata) which is Binance's 20th launchpool token to launch. ATA is a decentralized service protocol that provides a privacy middleware for dApps. Binance has previously launched coins such as ALICE which is used in the game My Neighbour Alice and TLM which is used in the game Alien Worlds (just to name a few of their projects, there are more).

These launchpool coins come in all kinds of varieties and uses as you can see by the examples given. From gaming, to tech, to lord only knows what in the future. This launchpool is one reason (not the only reason, but a large one) for BNB to pump a lot when it does, and I would expect it to continue to pump over the coming days along with DOT as more people clock on to the recently announced launchpool and they decide that they want part of the rewards

I hope this info helps and I'm sure there will be more info in the comments over time

    Have a good day guys!

Which non- top 100 coins are you hodling and why?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 12:16 AM PDT

A majority, like 65-70%, of my crypto investments, are consolidated in the top 10, the next 10-15% are in the top 50, so yeah I play it safe-ish. However, every now and then, I put $10-20 in a coin that's in the ranks of 50-100. Although that's a very small amount, I do my research and only invest in a coin if I truly like the project. These coins have given me the best short term returns.

Now I want to venture into the realm of the coins that are beyond the top 100 in terms of market cap. No, I won't gamble my life savings on a shit coin, will probably just chip in something like $15 but this will allow me to discover new and exciting projects.

So which non- top 100 coins are you hodling and why?

Play to earn crypto and NFTs. My experience part 2ish

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 01:15 PM PDT

Well, a lot of you wanted more so I decided to write a more informative and longer post. Hope everyone can find something that interests them from this list. I am including the previous ones with some edits and more info to make one complete list.

    Games I am currently playing:

Axie Infinity ($$$) - The number 1 blockchain game and it is still in alpha. It is the game in which you can earn the most money on a daily basis. The trading volume in their marketplace is $3,000,000 a day (it's insane) and more than a thousand axis are being sold every hour. In the game, you can play Adventure (PVE) and Arena (PVP). You also have energy that replenishes over time and can use it in Adventure to level up your Axies or in Arena to earn SLP on every win. You also earn SLP by winning in Adventure (it doesn't require energy to earn SLP there!) and on certain levels you get 200 and 300 for completion. At first, you will be getting 1 or 2 energy and it will gradually increase to 10-20 per win. There is also a daily limit for how much you can earn in the arena and it is 100 SLP. I reached it on the first day with a bit of a grind but now it takes me under an hour to hit it (I have been playing for a bit over a week). You also get a daily quest that gives you 50 SLP but you will need 5 arena wins for it. In the arena you can also play without energy and it will count towards the quest but you won't be earning SLP on a win. I am currently earning 8 SLP for each win but it can go up to 12 in higher ranks. According to calculations with a 75% win rate in Arena, a top player could earn up to 690 SLP (currently $98) daily and the theoretical limit for a top player daily SLP earnings is 1,590 SLP ($224) but it will require 100% win rate and spending all energy in the arena. I as an average player with a good team am earning my 150 SLP from Adventure and the daily quest and winning some Arena. Today I earned 262 SLP ($37) and I am quite happy with it. SLP was trading for a lot higher at $0.41 and if it rises again the daily gains will increase too. Of course, it is not that easy… Here is the unpleasant part. To even start playing you need 3 Axies (NFTs) and each of them costs anywhere between $100 and $300 for good ones. My budget was $500 and I was lucky to secure a decent team to get me above average win rate in the Arena. You can also breed Axies and sell them. I strongly advise anyone who wants to try it to do research and ask in their discord for suggestions. It can be played on PC and mobile but I think the iOS beta version is currently full. This is getting too long but there are also scholarships which don't require an initial investment. More on that in their discord.

Splinterlands ($) - It is a card game in which you set your strategy before the game and then it plays out. It is pretty fun and you earn money playing it in the form of DEC tokens which you can withdraw afterward for USD. You earn DEC on each win and it increases as you rank higher. You also get daily quests which have a 33% chance to give you a card, 1% chance for a pack of cards, 33% chance for a potion and 33% for DEC (Once got 900 DEC from it so not complaining about the DEC but usually it is just about 10). You can also earn from $2- $30 at season end if you are in the top 20 in Bronze. It gets higher with the leagues Silver, Gold, Diamond and Champions which gives the top player 200,000 DEC ($190). You can also participate in tournaments and get cool stuff there too. I personally have earned almost $30 so far and it is mainly from DEC, I just haven't been lucky to pull a really rare card. This game also requires an initial investment of $10 which unlocks the quests and DEC earnings. You can try it for free though. It can be played in the browser and on mobile (Android and iOS). The cool thing is that you own all the cards and if you quit you can sell them. If you join in with a referral you get 1 free card.

Astral Entities (FREE) - This is a project for a few games soon to be released. They are planning first to release a cards game, then a tower defense, RPG and a few more afterward. They are giving away NFTs for certain contests like Lord of the Rings riddles, invite contests and others. There have been some rare ones and I managed to secure an Elite Discordian which is one of 50 only. It is pretty cool and if you want to be early you should check it out. Many more contests to come. If you get an NFT you can use it in all of their games or sell it in the Atomic Market. Some redditors already got 2 from my previous post.

Coin Hunt World (FREE) - This is a game I can't wait to get a global release. It is currently available on Android and iOS in the US and Canada. I have friends playing in the US and it looks so promising so far. It is similar to Pokemon go but instead of Pokemons, you earn crypto by walking around. There are keys and vaults and if you match their color you are presented with a quiz question. If you answer it correctly you get crypto. The most common vaults give about $0.10 the next ones give $1 then $10, $100 and the last purple one gives $1000. There is that one guy in the discord who went to Hawaii with his wife to get that purple $1000 vault. There are also a lot of other cool stuff like buddy quests, cranes and so on. Sadly I am from the UK and am getting a quiz a day (it is only available for iOS users outside of the US and Canada). It is just a test version through Test Flight but am still earning $0.10 a day for one question, I am pretty sure once I got a whole dollar tho. The even worse thing is that I can't even check how much I have earned or withdraw them until they release it globally. People in the US and Canada can withdraw their earnings tho, don't get me wrong. Overall it is an extremely cool game that doesn't require any initial investment. It is mobile only

Games I have tried but not playing currently:

Townstar (FREE) - From the creator of FarmVille, it is a farming simulator but with a twist. You start over each week and compete with others. You get to place your town somewhere on the world map and run your farm for a week. You get points by selling goods to towns nearby and their prices and points change every contest. The prizes there are huge, especially last month. The total prize pool was $1m and first place got $10,000 and gradually decreasing to 401-499th place getting $75 and again 500th lucky guy got $10,000. It is completely free so if you think you are a good farmer give it a shot. Can be played on PC and mobile.

Nano Royale (FREE) – This is the play to earn game I started with. It is a really cool game in which you control a blob and kill other blobs, simple as that. If you win you get some Nano. The cool thing is that there is no threshold and you can withdraw at any time and amount directly to your nano wallet with 1 click. You should start with the faucet game cuz it is free. When you win you get on average 0.0001 Nano. When you collect 0.002 you can stake it and earn a lot more. They are introducing tournaments now and other cool stuff. I however think they are now in the process of changing it to their own crypto so prices should increase. Make sure to give it a try. I earned $10 there and used them to start Splinterlands. It is played on PC in the browser

Wallem (FREE) - Similar to Coin Hunt World but instead of crypto you earn tokens which you then redeem for physical items or vouchers. I got 2 Armani watches and 2 Armani sunglasses from it so I am pretty happy with it. However, it got struck by some regulations because of covid and all events were postponed. They started again last month but it just feels different. They have their crypto Pteria and you collect it in the game but you cannot withdraw it. Instead, you use it to join events. It is mobile only.

Wenano (FREE) – It is not like a regular game but more like an app in which you have to get close to specific locations in the real world and get free Nano from it. That's basically it. Free nano around you distributed by other people. Here in the UK, there are some places giving 5 Nano and I am pretty happy with it. It really depends on where you live though. It is mobile only.

Notable games I have tried but don't know much about or have only researched:

Lightnite ($) – The name says it all, it is similar to Fortnite but when I tried it I was killing some covid parasites and earned just a bit of BTC that I never really withdrew. Maybe it just wasn't my type. I will definitely check it again when they update it though. There are some people earning a good amount there so you can check it out. It is still in BETA and it costs $20

Vulcan Forged (FREE) – It was suggested in my previous post and I quite like the idea so far. Will definitely dig deeper and let you know my experience if I get on it.

Gods unchained (FREE) – You can only earn NFTs there and sell them. Some people are earning quite a lot there and it seems like a really cool game but I prefer ones in which you earn crypto too as earning just NFTs means that you have to be waiting for someone to buy them from you.

Lost relics (FREE) – Same as Gods unchained. You can only earn NFTs. Really fun game though.

Farsite (FREE) – You can earn crypto there but I still haven't looked really into it. It is on my to-do list If you have let me know what you think about it, please.

My experience tells me that with an initial investment you get to earn more but you have to be sure that you like the game and want to play it otherwise you can do a mistake like me and buy something you don't like and scrap it 2 days later. I will try to do a monthly earnings report soon on the games I am currently playing.

    Cryptocurrency Market Correlation Analysis

    Cryptocurrency Market Correlation Analysis

People have long observed that the cryptocurrency market moves with Bitcoin. But the question is, to what extent and how should investors navigate the markets knowing this.

In this analysis, I'll be analyzing data from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the Top 200 cryptocurrencies via the CMC200 Index by Solacti. I'll also be using the S&P 500, a stock market index, for a non-market comparison.

    Scatter Matrix

    How to read this:

    • The more linear, the greater the correlation. The results were as expected: most crypto pairs form a linear pattern. And all comparisons between cryptos and stocks are non-linear. In other words, they are not correlated.

    How to read this

    • Higher numbers and lighter shade mean higher correlation. A negative value would be closer to an inverse relationship (i.e. X goes down and Y goes up).

    • Bitcoin goes up, the market goes up, and vice versa. The only difference is to what extent a cryptocurrency will out- or underperform the market.

    Key Takeaways

This isn't new but the market is highly correlated. At least relative to the cryptocurrencies used in the analysis.

It seems like the Top 200 typically balances out relative to the returns of Bitcoin. So, really, you're looking for outliers (i.e. Ethereum) instead of just throwing whatever sum of money into whichever coin or token. Thus, this analysis has some implications for diversification within the cryptosphere. I think the relevant Warren Buffer saying here is "Diversification may preserve wealth, but concentration builds wealth."

Why would anyone ever buy moons when they’re free from upvotes? If nobody wants to buy them, how can we ever sell our moons?

I'm trying to understand the moon token economy. I don't get how it can possibly have actual monetary value when you can get them for free for upvotes. Is there anything you can do with moons besides sell them for another currency? I assume if we're selling our moons for another currency somebody else is buying them, but I don't get why someone would buy it.

    Thanks in advance

Buying Power in crypto, why you should just buy what you can and not worry about gaining 1 whole coin straight away

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 04:43 AM PDT

This post is aimed at the people who haven't brought cos they can not afford 1 BTC or 1 ETH or are still wondering about buying.

I am seeing comments daily about is it worth only buying a fraction of a coin but not seen a post like this so thought I would.

I have been in crypto since 2017 but I was on min wage and only had about 100 per month to spend on myself I put between 10-50 in every month buying little fractions here and their and eventually I had .04 BTC and .2 ETH as well as a load of alts. This year my investment x5'd and my measly 500 total investment over 3 years was worth a lot more I didn't care I did not own a whole ETH or BTC I just was happy that it worked.

Now one small piece of advice (this is just an idiot sharing his experience don't take it to heart but if one person learns and doesn't lose due to this I will be happy)

The above is a shorter version of what happened over time one thing I left out was last year I had actually accumulated 2 ETH at a total cost of about 250 when ETH started to jump I saw my opportunity to sell at quite a large gain to buy back in on the next dip I sold at about 800 odd and then over then next few days watched it smash 1000 and then 1500 I brought back in after taking some profit and this is why I only own .2 now but I do not regret what I did I have learnt from it and now I have a goal once I hit this goal I will sell what I need to and then just hold the rest for a hopeful early retirement. My current goal is to be able to have enough to buy a house its not a lot I know and many people are here in their life already especially cos I'm nearly 40 but crypto has opened this door for me that NEVER would have been there without it.

Time in the market not Timing the market but if you can by all means do I can not but that's just me

Happy buying all I hope your enjoying the great weather and have an amazing week and weekend when it gets here
