    Recovering wallet.dat

    Posted: 28 Jan 2021 09:20 AM PST

I've searched for this but can't figure it out.

I have an old wallet.dat file from years ago and would like to see if there's anything on there (probably nothing). I have litecoin core and it is syncing.

I think I need to put the wallet under appdata, but there is no litecoin folder in there... Do I need to wait for it to sync?

Thanks for any help, I haven't touched this stuff since 2013

BlockFi Increasing LTC Interest Rate to 6.5%

    Posted: 27 Jan 2021 01:15 PM PST

From the monthly update email I received:

"Thanks to surging demand, we're increasing the interest rate (APY) paid on Litecoin, enabling clients to earn even more on their LTC assets every month. Starting February 1, 2021, the rate will increase from 5% APY to 6.5% APY."

    This is a bullish signal.

    Why Bitcoin instead of Litecoin

    Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:16 PM PST

So... here we go with a newbie question. Bare with me. I've been in and out of crypto for a few years now and have held coins/tokens since 2018. I don't understand the real technical aspect of crypto, but I know the fundamentals and different aspects of how some coins/tokens work. I've never paid much attention to Litecoin until recently. It seems to me that some coins are being "forced" into the category of store of value assets... Bitcoin = digital gold, ETH = digital oil, and LTC = digital silver. I've also seen that LTC price follows BTC price to 98%. I understand LTC has 4x the total coins, and is 4x faster and some other 4x features as well... at a fraction of the price! I understand the aspect of BTC being rare, but LTC seems to be on the rare side as well when you consider total coins against total investors... especially with institutional money pouring in. So, as an investor, it makes more sense to me to be using Litecoin as an asset instead of Bitcoin when you're not a whale. Am I missing anything??? I haven't delved into what can be done on the LTC blockchain yet. I sort of landed on ETH for the crypto internet business development. I guess what I want to know is what does LTC bring to the table to push it into something more than a store of value? Not that I'm looking for anything more, and I certainly don't think that it's a bad thing. I just see my own personal investment being able to move more with LTC because I can afford more volume in comparison to BTC & ETH.

How can i mine litecoin using my cpu?

    Posted: 27 Jan 2021 03:42 PM PST

Any reason for running 24/7 my own node except from confirming 100% by myself the real balance of my account? I mean, can other people use my node if it is open 24/7 ? Do i support the network somehow else? Is it possible to get any money by doing this?
