18.1 million bitcoin down, 2.9 million to go! Posted: 13 Dec 2019 02:41 PM PST The number of bitcoin remaining to be mined gets smaller and smaller every day. You will have individuals, corporations, and governments all competing on the world stage to mine the rest. That should give anyone pause as you reflect on how hard it will be to get your hands on them. Stay humble, stack sats my friends. Have a great weekend! [link] [comments]

Don't use Bitcoin Blender. They just scammed me. Posted: 14 Dec 2019 02:16 AM PST Hi guys, TL;DR: Couldn't get my 0.016xx BTC from Bitcoin Blender cause of "withdraw limitations". Sent more BTC to get over the limit and sent them to my electrum wallet. Now they are just gone. Don't use this service! So to make some transaction I wanted to mix my BTC. Just a small amount 0.016xx BTC. I transferred it to Bitcoin Blender which I before this date never used but heard it's a good mixing service. The BTC arrived and I wanted to sent them to the destination. Besides it's clearly stating "Amount of bitcoins to send (minimum 0.001 BTC)" there was an error message with something like "Due to high server load minimum withdraw amount is 0.05 BTC". I was like "Okay ...". Then I slept and tried it again on the morning. Same message. Now I was already a little bit suspicious. Of course there is ALWAYS high server load, right. Then I wrote a support ticket and over the whole day tried again and again to transfer the BTC with the same result ... not possible. Here I made the mistake: Instead of just waiting or writing the BTC off I thought I could transfer BTC up to the needed minimum amount, transfer it to my electrum and then never visit the site again and find another reliable mixing service. You know how it went: Transferred the missing amount, sent it off to my electrum with a 1-2h delay. The website told something like "Bitcoins sent" or something like that which suggests the BTC are on there way. I was happy. After maybe 20 minutes I refreshed the page. The BTC amount of my account was now zero. I looked under Withdraw but there was no notification of any transaction. I opened my electrum wallet and there was nothing to see of an incoming transaction. Then I checked blockchain.info for my wallets address. Also nothing. After the first shock I thought: "Oh wait you made a delay, maybe therefore it's not showing anything". Since it was already late I went to bed. Now today I check my electrum and nothing is there. It's like nothing ever happened. Wrote another support ticket but yeah ... as if I will ever receive any answer on them. So the amount of BTC is nothing that ruins me or stuff and I can write this off under "lessons learned" but I still wanted to tell this maybe somebody will read it and don't use this scammer service. How do I create a wallet that automatically splits money to two other wallets Posted: 13 Dec 2019 11:50 PM PST I cant find anything on this. here's an example of exactly what I need to do, nothing more nothing less: wallet A receives 1 btc. 0.5 btc is then automatically sent to wallet B and C. I was thinking getting a CLI wallet in Linux and then somehow coding it. But thats difficult. What are my options [link] [comments]

Posted: 14 Dec 2019 01:07 AM PST I googled and read some Coinbase docs but didn't see a definitive answer. If someone sends btc from their Coinbase exchange wallet will you be able to see the rest of their activity and where their btc went? It seems the answer is no since it sends from a different wallet every time, though I am iffy on this. Also, for the record, I know this is bad practice and don't recommend anyone keep a significant amount of btc on website-based wallets. Note that I am not concerned with whether or not the BTC that is purchased is associated with a person's identity, or whether the exchange itself can see all of your BTC activity. Just asking if anyone exploring the ledger could see all of your activity grouped together. [link] [comments]

how do I import my very old wallet keys? Posted: 13 Dec 2019 09:06 PM PST the name I found from 2013 is bitcoin-wallet-keys-2013-12-05 and the contents (not complete) look like this. Posted: 13 Dec 2019 04:20 PM PST I'm debating which crypto has the best future, i've browsed many subs and see a common theme. Every altcoin thinks they are the chosen one and bitcoin believe itself to be the gold standard and everything else to be a "shitcoin". Now I know what this sub believes but I would like you to alleviate some concerns I have about bitcoin, and explain why my beliefs are wrong in some altcoins. First, with BTC, it is my understanding that the blockchain is very inefficient, has slow transition times, and small block sizes. Why is this okay? Second, with BTC, it is my understanding that china controls over half of the BTC mining power, and that China could essentially destroy the blockchain at any time. Why is this wrong? Finally, with BTC, it is my understanding that people pool computing power together and these groups can solve multiple blocks in a row. Why is this okay? Now for the Alt-coins First, it is my understanding that some altcoins can process transactions much faster, cheaper, and more securely than BTC, why is this irrelevant? Second, why do you believe XRP and XLM to go to 0, when they have huge corporate partners and can process transactions much faster than BTC? Finally, why must BTC be this "reference", crypto for all altcoins, over a stablecoin? I have lots more questions but any insight is much appreciated. Thank you. [link] [comments]

Posted: 14 Dec 2019 01:57 AM PST So, I intend to store my money on a paper wallet and keep it there for some time, but I just want to know how and where can I check that transactions are completed and that my wallet received it and what do I use when I inevitably need to get the money out of the wallet. Posted: 14 Dec 2019 01:45 AM PST Ofcourse the dollar is still in between these two. But it's good to realize there are other/better ways to express the value of Bitcoin than fiat. [link] [comments]
