Posted: 29 Jun 2018 07:48 AM PDT So I had an MSI Rx580 GPU die on me. I bought it in January and it died in May. I opened an RMA and sent the GPU in, and today, over a month later they got back to me and said it couldn't be repaired. They offered to reimburse me 60% of what I originally paid (I paid $400 for it at the time), but I would prefer to either get a replacement card, or the full amount reimbursed. Do I have a chance here and should I push back and insist on a replacement, or just take what they're offering me? [link] [comments]
Reminder to check competing electric rates Posted: 29 Jun 2018 07:41 AM PDT With the market on the down trend now is a good time to check competing electric suppliers. I was able to lock in $.0299 for 3 months today bringing my total to around $.07 down from $.10. [link] [comments]
30% Decrease In Performance With 1x Riser? Posted: 28 Jun 2018 10:06 PM PDT Hey guys, I'm getting a rig built up atm and was hoping someone with a bit of experience could weigh in on this. I've got a 1080TI and 1070TI both running on Nicehash. Problem is, whenever one of them is connected to the PCI-E 1x USB Riser I bought, I notice a 25-40% drop in performance. Popping either card directly into the motherboard gets me back to 100%. For I instance, my daily estimated earnings go from $1.00CAD to $0.59 with the riser on the 1070TI, which is just insane. The particular riser I purchased is this one: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B076DZZMPS I was considering buying an 8x or 16x riser instead and trying it on another port but I've heard that it can also be the USB cable in some cases too. Gunna grab a USB cable tomorrow and see what the result is. In the meantime any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. [link] [comments]

Why is the difficulty going up while the price of BTC and alt coins is going down? Posted: 28 Jun 2018 02:48 PM PDT When I got into mining I was under the impression that the price of a coin and the difficulty were mutually exclusive. I thought when a coin's price went down, I would be able to mine more of it, or at least the same amount I had been, but I've actually been mining(well in my case, hashing) way less since the drop in price. Why is the difficulty going up, in an almost perfectly linear pattern with the price of BTC and alt coins going down? Does this always happen when prices go down or something different this time?
