GDAX froze my account. No explanation. Thousands of dollars potentially lost. Support Nonresponsive.

GDAX: Last time you did this to me I had to wait 45 days for resolution. You locked up 7 figures of funds for no reason other than slow support, and I lost hundreds of thousand of dollars as the market drastically changed.

Even today your support rep says minimum 5 days just for someone to "explain" why you've disabled my trading. I am certain it will be weeks before its fully resolved. I am about to lose $20,000 on a trade I needed to make. Will you be compensating me for that?

Friends have reported that your "automated algo" locks accounts routinely for no valid reason. Last guy waited a month only to find there was "no reason". You flipped him back to active.

I cant afford to wait. I apologize. Can someone please address this immediately.

    Your EOS coins

    Posted: 25 Jun 2018 03:24 PM PDT

If you are holding EOS accounts please be aware that after 3 years of inactivity. Your EOS will be distributed to the rest of the EOS community by the EOS Block Producers . Yes I kid you not! So much for EOS decentralization. First the EOS Block Producers has the ability to freeze any account and now this. This is more heart breaking news and I m holding a bag full of EOS.

iExec and Engima, Does ethereum need them?

    Posted: 25 Jun 2018 11:23 PM PDT

    Hi there,

I am currently invested in two cryptos, Enigma and iExec. To me they seem like really good prospects, and that ethereum needs both of them. iExec for computational resources for massive adoption apps, and enigma for information privacy for corporations and even individuals. But I'm looking for some reasons why they aren't really necessary, from some people smarter than me. Sort of unusual to seek out counter points but I really am trying to get a balanced view on this

They told me this deserved it's own post, so here you go.

    Posted: 25 Jun 2018 11:58 AM PDT

I was in a discussion thread and people were wondering why I don't think the government will shut down privacy coins, so here's my take. If you've seen a similar story before, I post this a lot but never in it's own thread until now.

    .

The year is 2032 and everyone is using your favorite coin. You go to a restaurant, you pay in crypto. You go on a shopping spree, you pay in crypto.

Everything is good and great (especially for you as an EA), and one day you go over for dinner with your fiancee's family just weeks before you get married. Her brother, Jim, is an avid crypto supporter as well and you both have a great time talking to eachother. At the end of the night you pick up the bill for you and your SO and Jim wishes you best of luck as you part ways.

    .

Now here's what you don't know. After leaving, Jim does some snooping into who you are. He checks the address on the blockchain, looking for the meal you just paid to the same recipient to find out what he can. He opens up his analysis app and starts scanning your wallet.. How much you make, your favorite bars, your go-to shopp- Ooooh what's this?

December 19th, 2028. You bought a 24 carat wedding ring from Diamond&Trust and on December 23rd you paid for an expensive meal near Beach Park.. But you've only been dating your current SO for 2 years, which means...

    .

You wake up in the middle of the night to your fiancee crying. What's wrong, honey? you ask, making sure everything's alright. "How could you do this to me!!", she exclaims.

Do what? you wonder, leaning over to see her perspective in the hologram. It's a picture message, from Jim.. He was using the Trackfolio app to watch your address. Oh fuck.

Your fiancee looks at you and points to the transaction you made... 4 years prior. She's bawling her eyes out and hysteric, "What the fuck!??", she says.

The feeling in your stomach and the chills on your forearm. You go in for a hug but she pulls away. "What the fuck is this!!". You don't know what to say. You don't know what to do.

Because the blockchain doesn't lie.. You can't change what you've done. You can't change the truth. And the truth was you had already been engaged once - and you never even told your current SO..

    .

In China, it's illegal to read about how they killed their own University students in a massacre. Saying you don't need privacy because you have nothing to hide is like saying you don't need free speech because you have nothing to say.

Protect others, and look out for one another. Privacy is not a crime, and you shouldn't treat it like so.

Edit: I'm not suggesting you should cheat on your wife, and I'm not saying the government cares about you buying a ring. I'm just showing why most coins will adopt a privacy-by-default scheme in the future and while the government can often be incompetent, they won't oversee the fact that publicly visible transactions are a terrible idea for global adoption.

And just like that, EOS orders reversal of double spent transactions. Why is a blockchain needed?

What do you think of a website that allows for Venezuelans to give Spanish lessons for crypto?

    Posted: 25 Jun 2018 03:25 PM PDT

I just randomly came in contact with what is going on in Venezuela right now. I knew about the situation in Venezuela before but after hearing the story of this kid, I thought there must be something we can do. I like to help but in general just sending money is not what solves a situation like this (just like creating new money doesn't). Anyways as I myself want to improve my Spanish, I came up with the idea of creating a website that matches Venezuelans with people all over the globe that want to learn Spanish. All this supported by a crypto payment gateway. That way not only could we help Venezuelans in need, we could also spread the word about crypto and add one real life use case that I am sure Satoshi would have approved of while writing the Bitcoin protocol.

What do you think about this? Is it feasible? It would be a win/win/win situation!
