Posted: 26 May 2018 02:09 PM PDT In all seriousness, it was his first Bitcoin and I gave him the option of $100 cash or $100 in bitcoin. He was very happy to take the bitcoin! 👍🏼 I explained his paper wallet and delivered it in a zip lock bag. Told him to put in his safe and if he has a firesafe pouch in his safe (he said he does), to put it in there and forget it. I even printed off a spare QR deposit code for him to put more on if he ever chooses! Today was a win for everyone! [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 May 2018 12:23 PM PDT I used the word "cryptocurrencies" which seemed to confuse her before just switching to bitcoin. She didn't nessesarily seem less confused but I put it out there and suggested that the trade barriers were simply overbearing in this state which anyone who's been on LBC lately knows. Posted: 26 May 2018 01:56 PM PDT Does anyone else get the feeling that we're potentially in a "false" bear market where huge resources are being applied to keep the price supressed ? With the amount of media attention, new investors etc over the last 18 months, I can't understand why the price hasn't exploded yet. I have a feeling that when the Bulls take control again, we could have the biggest gains Bitcoin has seen yet. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 May 2018 01:06 PM PDT I kind of want to get the private key out of here today. Thanks! Update: This turned out to only have .9 BTC which means the 25 dat file is in another account. This wallet we found was the pizza funds wallet apparently. IN 2012 it was something like $3 so still a substantial find. Thank you everyone for your help and advice. [link] [comments]

Which Android wallet is recommended? Posted: 27 May 2018 12:35 AM PDT I've been using "Bitcoin Wallet" until last autumn, but now it forces transfer fees of > 1$ which makes it unusable. I usually purchase newspaper articles with bitcoin that cost around 25cents. In another thread someone stated that fees are supposedly 4 cents, which would work for me! Someone suggested to use "Samourai Wallet" to get those 4 c fees, but I'm hesitant because it's not listed on the official bitcoin wallets page, so I don't know if it's safe. Can someone recommend one of the wallets listed on the official site here https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/mobile/android/ that would give me 4 cents or similarly usable fees, please? Thanks! Edit: Ok thanks, it seems people recommend Samourai wallet a lot so I guess it can be trusted? :p Will give it a try then. And I would recommend the bitcoin.org team write a warning to "Bitcoin Wallet" that its fees are way too high. I think many people would pick that wallet because it has the official and most straightforward name, and then think they cannot use bitcoin because of the high fees the wallet forces. That's really bad. Also, why is Samourai wallet not listed on that page I wonder? [link] [comments] |
