Who s actually buying these $800+ Nvidia 1070s / 1080s? Posted: 12 Mar 2018 05:00 AM PDT It makes no financial sense to buy one for mining so what keeps the prices so high? Do the sellers who list their Nvidia cards for crazy prices actually sell any? [link] [comments]

Anyone know how to properly troubleshoot a GPU? Posted: 12 Mar 2018 03:01 AM PDT Hi! I just tried to setup a mining rig with 4x 1080ti and 2x 1070ti Somehow 3x 1080ti and 2x 1070ti stopped working, no action in device manager (even as hidden) and not recognized in BIOS. Tested on 4 motherboards. But the last 1080ti is recognized everywhere. Testet all the risers with the working 1080ti so shouldn't be the risers. Testet all 4 PSU's that i have available at home, everyone works with the last working card. All the cards turns on, LED lights are OK and fans start spinning. It's like the communication part is dead. Tried it on brand new windows (3-4 times) and ofc DDU hundred times, flashed BIOS's / CMOS, default settings, 1 and 1 card and so on. I Know all of these cards worked just fine before, as i was running 3x desktop computers with 2 cards in each. I'm a bit confused but i'm going to send in 3 of the 1080ti for repair but it takes 1-2 days for them "review my case" before they approve of that.. And i'm loosing out on the coin farming :( If they are broken i will probably have to wait months to get new ones. I don't mind spending another 72-100 hours troubleshooting these cards, anyone got any tips? If someone manage to actually solve it with some guru magic, i will reward a healthy donation! Any recommendations? Note: Not looking for those high cfm delta fans. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Mar 2018 11:54 PM PDT One of my 1080Ti with which I m mining crapped out. Luckily I paid extra to have a 3 year extended warranty. If mining revenue was as good as 3 month ago I d exchange it immediatley. The thing is mining is barely profitable right now and I know I ll have to wait a LOOOOONG time before I get the replacement 1080Ti (maybe I ll never get it since there are rumors that production is over). I m contemplating asking for an exchange when the next gen will be mainstream and Pascal EOL to hopefully get a next gen equivalent replacement (probably GTX 2080) . The warranty states that if there is no simlar card, I would get an "equivalent" card in terms of performance. Does it make sense? I d be forgoing many month of mining revenue but I would get a next gen card instead. [link] [comments]
Linux os, temps and fan control?? Posted: 11 Mar 2018 10:28 PM PDT I've been using smos for months and would like the ability to use new or custom miners. What are you guys doing about temps and fan speed control? I would like something where I set a target temp and fan speed adjust accordingly. Does this exist outside of smos? Will not go back to windows lol. [link] [comments]

[Feedback Request] Building my own aluminum mining rig frame, looking for input Posted: 11 Mar 2018 04:23 PM PDT https://i.imgur.com/cf0xnBG.png All frame pieces can be cut from 2x 10' lengths of 1" hollow square aluminum tubing. Wooden base will be held in place by recessed screws through bottom frame members. All tubing is hollow, which would allow for something to be threaded through the uprights when units are stacked, making them very stable (thin PVC would be perfect for this). Uprights are full frame height for maximum vertical loading to allow for dense stacking. Room for 7x GPUs, 2x power supplies, and an ATX motherboard. Heat removal via 6x 80mm fans held in place with zip ties. Holes will be drilled near fans so that zip ties do not loop over top rail of the frame, which would interfere with stacking. Let me know what I am overlooking. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Mar 2018 06:32 PM PDT I've seen a lot of posts of people receiving full pallets of cards. I'm assuming these are coming from distributors or manufacturer direct. Is it as easy as setting up a vendor account with a distributor and making a purchase or is there a missing step somewhere? [link] [comments]
Intel Virtualization Technology = black screen and other odd crashes? Posted: 11 Mar 2018 05:53 PM PDT I've been mining just fine but recently I enabled Intel Virtualization in my BIOS so that I could use virtual machines. Ever since then when I come back to my computer after mining my screen will be blank and unresponsive. I end up having a crashed miner app, a fucked up blurry screen or a demolished hashrate. I just turned off the setting because I realized that was the only thing I've changed since this started occurring. Has anyone else experienced this before or have any info? 1080 ti SLI (gaming PC) - 20 degrees difference Posted: 11 Mar 2018 04:23 PM PDT Hey guys, I'm new to this whole ordeal and I've been searching around but there's a few questions that remains. Thanks for your help! The 2 1080 ti (MSI aero) are running as SLI. The first one (monitor) gets a decent temp (65c ish) whereas the second one always have 20c extra. I did a power limit 62, mem clock -225 (I run a game minimized so cant go lower). 1st GPU: 60-63c (60% fan speed) 2nd GPU: 80-83c (80% fan speed) My question is: Is it better to let the 2nd GPU run at a slightly higher temp (85-87) with lower fan settings (default 65% ish) or keep it like it is? Noise is a bit of a bother when I'm working but nothing crazy. I have 0 experience with GPU wear and tear so I'd need some pointers here. [link] [comments]
mining alexandrite coin instead of Zcoin false coin in zpool Posted: 11 Mar 2018 04:01 PM PDT Hi guys. Yesterday i've decided to give a chance to Zcoin. I am mining with 1070 TI. I chose zpool.ca and fixed everything and set c=XZC. I thought that everything is fixed now to mine Zcoin but with surprise i saw that i am mining Alexandrite. I even don't know what the hell is that for coin.. I've changed the wallet address and started the process again and same result. Could you please help with this issue or please recommend some reliable mining pool for zcoin. I get stratum authentication failed in mining pool hub. It doesn't work for me. I don't know why. Posted: 11 Mar 2018 11:00 AM PDT Just wanted to share a good experience with DeepInTheMines. Was in the market for a 12 GPU board, and found a great deal on a B stock board. I got in touch with them, asked a few questions. They responded within minutes, which was a nice surprise. They took Ethereum which was nice, and shipping was quick and well packaged. The B-stock board seemed like it was brand new, been running it a few days now with no issues to report. Anyway - just wanted to share a good experience as often times we only hear about the bad. Not affiliated with them in any way, they just seem like a small shop that has its act together. [link] [comments]
Ques:-What did you brought with your mining profits? Posted: 11 Mar 2018 08:28 PM PDT For me It definitely didn't bring me a new lambo lol. But I brought a new 4K monitor new sets of keyboard mice, new processor, and a GTX 1080-ti. Started With Just a single 1060 now I have all these thanks to mining. [link] [comments]
