Remember: NOBODY went to jail for '08, and now US Senate moves forward with bill, easing regulations on banks

Google takes your privacy. Governments take your rights. Banks take your money. Corporations take your jobs. ... Bitcoin gives it all back.

PSA: Lately there's been a lot of "hate this/boycott that" company on r/bitcoin. The cultism and fanaticism mentality of "us against them" belongs on a different subreddit. Let's keep it that way.

Remember amidst the FUD: There will NEVER be enough BTC for all of today's millionaires to own just ONE.

    Posted: 14 Mar 2018 04:30 PM PDT

There will only ever be a maximum of 21 million bitcoins.

    Ever.

Total number of millionaires (in USD value) worldwide is around 33 million (source: https://www.cnbc.com/2016/11/22/12-million-new-millionaires-will-be-minted-over-the-next-five-years.html)

The math is simple: there simply isn't enough Bitcoin in the world for every one of today's millionaires to own even ONE SINGLE BITCOIN. Much less all the future Millionaires waiting to be born.

If you are able to acquire even one BTC today: Enjoy the feeling. You are an early adopter. And one of a select few.

    Be patient

I bought this monster in 2014 with money I made mining bitcoin on a laptop gpu in 2012.
    https://i.imgur.com/8AY3l4f

I turned the laptops earnings into a single gpu miner and then in a 36 gpu farm. After the 2014 crash I unloaded everything, except for 14.9 dark coins I forgot about in a paper wallet. They were worth 20 dollars when I put them there.

I found those coins in December and sold 2 days after the peak for 23k.

The lesson in all this was no matter how much trading or mining or optimizing or switching algos, I would have made more just buying and holding for only a couple years.

Newbs be patient, buy hold wait. 4 years seems like forever, but 4 years ago I sold 76 bitcoins to buy mining rigs. Fuck me.

Don't think in USD, think % of 21M coins

Bitcoin is a scarce digital asset. It can be compared to other scare commodities like gold or even real estate. In the case of the latter, instead of square feet, think about intangible space in a global decentralized immutable ledger.

The amount of Bitcoin you own determines how many entries you can have in this ledger. Each entry requires a fee paid to the miners, therefore, there is a finite number of entries.

This all is a long way of saying, Bitcoin is a long-term investment. In the United States, the Homestead Acts of 1862 gave away 270 million acres of public land, nearly 10% of the continental US, at no cost. Now imagine the value of this land at today's cost.

The day to day fluctuations of Bitcoin's price is child's play. The true value of Bitcoin will unveil itself, but only in due time. Do not let volatility influence your willingness to forge a new path.

Fake Satoshi's lawyers tried to get A. Antonopoulos to verify their client is "real" and wanted Andreas to sign a NDA.

Andreas' reaction: "I'm not touching this with a ten foot pole".

    Starts at ~30:20

Basically, the title and Andreas' response is already the whole story. I just found it interesting that fake Satoshi tries to verify himself with help of lawyers. Why so complicated, when the real verification would have been so easy?

(The whole "Fake Satoshi" topic starts roughly in the middle of the podcast, btw)
