We should support Linux over Microsoft Posted: 12 Mar 2018 03:06 PM PDT All folks know that Microsoft is centralized. Bitcoin as a community that values decentralization should help Linux by using it. The best for cold storage and other advantages and tools. Besides the added security. Just a shout out! Posted: 12 Mar 2018 03:07 PM PDT Seriously, paying people in cryptos is so easy and it's good for our economy. I always ask people or businesses if they accept bitcoin as a form of payment. Adopt the culture! [link] [comments]

How to adequately protect my Bitcoin wallet seed? Posted: 13 Mar 2018 03:11 AM PDT This is what I am doing: I use a 2 of 6 multisig wallet. The seed for each cosigner is encrypted in a Word file with a unique password. All the word files are then zipped together using another encryption password. Apart from keeping this zipped file locally, I also keep a copy in the cloud (protected with 2FA) just in case my computer dies. Should this be adequate? [link] [comments]

Bitcoin Transaction only 13 cents! Posted: 12 Mar 2018 07:15 PM PDT Made a bitcoin transaction earlier today and only paid 13 cents for the miner fee. So glad to see the network back in this shape. Segwit ftw. [link] [comments]
How is Fiat stored electronically? Posted: 13 Mar 2018 03:04 AM PDT So of course I've got a fairly rough understanding of how bitcoin is stored, transacted, etc. throughout its network. And anyone can go through bitcoin's protocol, figure out how to set up a wallet + keys on their own and so on, but what about, say, USD? How are fiat wallets built and transacted? tl;dr how do banks/credit unions/paypal work? [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Mar 2018 11:26 AM PDT I built this tool because I wanted to use it myself. I hope others find it useful to explore not just the blockchain but also the capabilities of their nodes. https://github.com/janoside/btc-rpc-explorer It runs as a node.js app and communicates via RPC to your node. The source code and instructions for running are available on github. Aspects were inspired by a similar tool by JornC on github: https://github.com/JornC/bitcoin-transaction-explorer. Other aspects were inspired by ChainQuery.com [link] [comments]
F2Pool now mining all transactions Posted: 12 Mar 2018 09:10 AM PDT Looks like F2Pool just changed their mining policy. Until today they were not mining transactions with fees of less than 5 sat/byte. But at 8:51 GMT this morning they mined a block with transactions all the way down to 1 sat/byte. It's taken them a while, but assuming this is a real change and not a glitch, well done F2Pool. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Mar 2018 09:04 AM PDT FWIW: all it took was one tweet at Gemini and they instantly verified it. Def give that a shot if you've been waiting a while. [link] [comments]
