Octominer B8 Plus: another first look

    Posted: 13 Mar 2018 07:00 AM PDT

Just finished my first 6x RX580 rack mount miner @185MHs at <1000w at the wall mining Etherum on HiveOS

    Posted: 12 Mar 2018 04:35 PM PDT

12 GPU 360 Mh/s rig is now up and running on SMOS.

    Posted: 12 Mar 2018 10:36 PM PDT

I work at an electronic recycling plant and found 2 of these, are they worth mining with?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2018 12:51 PM PDT

story time - how a mining rig saved the day...sort of.

    Posted: 12 Mar 2018 11:00 AM PDT

so i had a long day at work, got in and was pretty tired. thirsty too. so i grab a glass of water from kitchen and accidentally spilt some on the coffee table.

i figured it wouldnt be a huge issue, it'll dry seeing as the room is pretty damn toasty with my 3 rigs pumping away. so anyway, i sit a chill for a few mins on my phone, checking on rigs, reddit, emails, ebay, all that stuff. after a while of browsing and phone stuff, i decide to roll a spliff just to you know, fully chill out after long day at work.

rolled it, not a bad roll at all, probably even half decent. threw it at the coffee table. the spliff gets soaked through. im such a retard.

i cant let this spliff go to waste. im not rolling another one. i cant be arsed. okay what do we have that we can use to dry this sodden spliff?

lets use this mining rigs to dry my smoke. a quick palm over to the rigs to find the hottest card.

the MSI 980, dual fan, lots of fat heatpipes. perfect. after a few mins of resting the spliff on the heatsink, it was crisp. worked great! smoke was decent. and that concludes my story. #coolstorybro

    The Church of Bitcoin

    Posted: 12 Mar 2018 07:22 PM PDT

I am going to make a church, the church of Bitcoin. All hail the the true mighty god: Cryptography.

My mining proceeds will be tax deductible, as they operate for a Church.

Maybe ill be a branch of the Flying Spaghetti Monster church.

What do you use to keep track of earnings?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2018 05:23 AM PDT

So I started mining beginning of this year with an old 1070 and new 1070ti. Set up MPM with MPH and it has been running smooth.

Was wondering what everyone else uses to keep track of mined earnings?

I use delta for keeping track of my purchased crypto holdings, but would like to keep what I have earnt through mining seperate. I know the delta pro lets you have multiple portfolios but paying 100 a year for it doesn't seem feasable at the moment especially with how hard the market has crashed.

My current solution is to just use blockfolio for my mined earnings and keep delta for coins I have purchased with fiat, thought I would ask to see how everyone else does it.

How to enable Sols/s on Dstm?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2018 04:28 AM PDT

Been using Dstm for a long while but I can't seem to figure out how to get the Sol/w to work. I've looked at the help section and it barely gets mentioned. Is there a particular command I am missing?

Edit, Sorry suppose to be Sol/w

What electric setups do you have for your rigs?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2018 08:18 PM PDT

If GPU prices magically fell to MSRP - would you buy more?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2018 06:35 PM PDT

Magic Monday - GPU prices fall to MSRP. Would buy more and add to your rigs?

If so, isn't this why GPU prices will not fall? At least that far?

    One big external fan

    Posted: 13 Mar 2018 12:48 AM PDT

If we have one big intake and outake external fan blowing on the gpu we don't have to increase the fan speed on the gpu. This will minimise the wear on the gpu' fan.

    Thoughts this ASUS B250 Mobo

    Posted: 12 Mar 2018 08:33 PM PDT

If I ran my 1080ti's at 110% power but kept the temps below 70c, would that wear out my card prematurely?

Is it just the heat that kills it or other factors?
