    Monero blocking competing miners ad-hoc

    Posted: 16 Mar 2018 05:56 AM PDT

I placed an order yesterday for a Antminer X3 and I still have 2 days to pay it. Since the announcement of Monero fork (Electroneum will just following hem) I decided to let the order expire as there is a big chance I won't be able to mine. I don't know what Bytecoin will do but I don't want to contribute anything to a scam project—yes, research a bit.

I wanted to bring here my thoughts. Basically Monero is trying to avoid any type of competition in the mining space. If someone puts their effort in outcompeting the current status quo, they just cut that initiative. Monero mining is sold as a 'equalitarian mining' but that is a complete fallacy, there are big miners and there is no way I can mine with my PC at home. They say the production of ASIC is centralised, but seriously it's a natural monopoly and that can change at any time. GPU integrated circuits producers are very limited, there isn't any difference. So not only 'equalitarian mining' is a bad idea but it's also false.

If I were a big Monero miner I'd be happy they are not allowing my competition to enter my market. Not only that but for example Riccardo Spagni calls Bitcoin Cash a scam as in his mind it's an attack performed by the miners. Following his line of thought I'd argue that the current Monero miners forking the network to avoid new competition is also a cartel that forks the network ad-hoc every time they consider there is someone competing more than they like. It's also funny how the fork in the mining algorithm was announced one month prior to Bitmain releasing his ANTminer X3. With all the money involved it is easy to think the big miners felt a big increase in difficulty probably while Bitmain was testing the new CryptoNight miner—many accuse Bitmain of mining before selling the miners, of course they do and that's why they sell them priced according to profitability—and they started a campaign.

I'd like to know your opinion guys.

A nice portion of my coins are Monero and I'm thinking of getting rid of them since the argument now against high fees is "this is Gold dude", and now this fork is showing their real values. There is no way you can scale on-chain with lousy miners, Monero doesn't get the PoW in my opinion. Many don't get free markets. BCH will be fungible soon.

    I will always love Gold.

    Help

    Monero Mining

In order to help pay for the cost of maintaining the site, the Monero miner is turned on by default. Note, you are more than welcome to opt out of this, as it is not required. When entering the site, you will be asked if we can use your CPU resources for mining purposes.

If you are mining and the miner is causing a performance delay, you can easily turn it off or adjust the specs accordingly.

New Open Source Crypto Tool Website for the Community

    Posted: 15 Mar 2018 07:37 PM PDT

Hello /r/BitcoinCash community! In times of FUD and panic, we need to continue to push for mass adoption. That is why I am currently developing an all in one tool for crypto lovers and could use your help!

Coin Market Street's mission is to be the all in one tool for cryptocurrency lovers, built by cryptocurrency lovers. The goal is to be a one stop website for everything cryptocurrency. We provide the ability of viewing live cryptocurrency prices, breaking news, arbitrage opportunities, and crypto shopping.

For Crypto Traders (coming soon!) Look at live prices and arbitrage opportunities for over 1500 coins across exchanges.

For Crypto Businesses and Shoppers (coming soon!) This is an upcoming feature I'm very excited about. The ability to buy and sell anything you want using only cryptocurrencies. No fiat allowed!

For Crypto Redditors All cryptos are linked to their official subreddit's. When you click on a crypto, you can view live pricing as well as all of the top reddit posts for that crypto.

For Crypto Developers The github for the website is completely opensource and available on https://github.com/apuente93/cgd

I know, right now the site is very similar to CoinMarketCap and LiveCoinWatch. The difference is that this site will be opensource, anyone can contribute and help build it. We are also not looking to make any money, so we will never have ads, and all donations will go to continued building and perfecting of the site. We are here for all crypto lovers. If there are any other suggestions for the website, please speak up! You can use any of the social media outlets below to do so.

Let's make Coin Market Street the most powerful crypto resource for everyone built by everyone!
