"I'm a Partnered Twitch Streamer (Cowsep) that is already using 1upcoin for Ethereum, LTC, and Bitcoin donations and it was super easy to set up. So it doesn't ONLY accept Nano! If you're interested in setting up I recommend not hesitating since it directly connects straight to your coinbase and the delay is really short. Can definitely vouch for this project! I'll set it up for Nano tonight and see how it feels compared to the other coin donations =)"

Support your favorite streamers and spread the news. This may be old new to some, but I am just learning about this & I'm really excited to support some of my favorite streamers! 🚀

Malware That Replaces Your Address With A Fake One

    Posted: 23 Feb 2018 09:14 AM PST

I will dub this malware 'Faux Address'

It works by waiting dormant until a user copies an address to their clipboard, it then replaces this address with the address of the attacker.

The post below speculates that the malware has a database of addresses and overwrites your copied address with one that closely resembles.

There is also another speculation made that the malware could in other forms, change the address seen in your browser or wallet itself.

If more people could come forward who have fallen victim to this, we can verify both claims.

The post also offers some solutions to this problem that require the community as a whole to co-operate.

This purpose of this post is to bring awareness to the dangers of cryptocurrency. Please be safe.

    Litecoin and Litepay Awareness Poster!

    Posted: 22 Feb 2018 10:57 PM PST

    Hi Everyone,

I have quickly put together a poster that is designed with the intent to raise awareness about Litecoin and Litepay. This poster would be ideally passed out to small-medium sized businesses to show them the benefits of accepting Litecoin! I'd love to hear feedback so we can make this thing awesome, and do our part in increasing awareness and adoption!

Any ideas for an open source application that would boost litecoin popularity?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2018 06:03 AM PST

So hello everyone. I'm a 20-something-year old computer science student with a few years of Software Development experience, and it's time to choose a bachelor's degree thesis subject for my studies. Fortunately, I'm allowed to choose a subject myself, as long as it concerns computer science and is challenging enough to get accepted. The professor who will oversee my thesis agreed to a cryptocurrency-based application, so here I am!

I would like to create an open-source application that would somehow make it more available for everyone to join and freely use cryptocurrencies, and I would like to choose litecoin as my primary focus.

Do you have any ideas about it? I've been thinking about an android/iOS wallet client with custom NFC payments and integrate it with some cryptocurrency market or something like this. Please enlighten me! :D

Tried to search but couldn't find the direct answer. I mostly use my bank and haven't made a card purchase in a long while. Is coinbase charging DEBIT cards as cash advance or only credit cards? (I have a VISA Debit Card)

Opendime website link to LTC Foundation shop is broken

    Posted: 23 Feb 2018 03:22 AM PST

When clicking the link on opendime's website to buy the LTC version of the wallet, it tries to redirect you to LTC Foundation webpage, but the link no longer works (probably because or some sort of update). I thought you would like to know.

Using LTC loan to boost my credit score.

    Posted: 23 Feb 2018 03:14 AM PST

I met with my advisor today and we talked openly about the credit score ordeal, his advice was actually pretty encouraging.

I have a score of 780, and I want to get it higher, and since I don't use credit cards, and my college debt is paid off, and there is no debt remaining, I decided to take out a $15k loan today after his advice.

So putting all towards litecoin, he advised to pull it out after I see 140% of my initial investment (of the 15k, I have LTC from the long long ago).

I get an APR of 5.7%, and with a 24 month repayment schedule, he advised that I open a separate account, deposit the loan+interest amount into the account, and have it set for automatic withdrawals monthly. He said I should see my credit score get a nice nudge upward over the course of two years, in which I am literally doing nothing, and I will have gained an additional three thousand or so to keep in LTC.

Here's the kicker, and something I wanted to mention to anyone who has taken out a small loan to play in crypto. If you repay loans too quickly, your credit score will rarely ever change, and it is actually a major red flag for banks who keep track of people who may be laundering money.

So that's my plan, hoping the kind folk of reddit will add to this and persuade me to just keep that 15k in LTC for the long run. What do you all think?

US tax question (wide range of buy prices)

    Posted: 23 Feb 2018 03:33 AM PST

If I bought 300 LTC at $300, another 300 LTC at $100, and then sold 200 LTC at $200 (to be reinvested, but this is a taxable action), how do I report this? It could be a loss or a gain depending on which end you look at. I have a couple thousand of these ambiguous types of transactions (algo trading - whoops) and am lost. And I'm trying to avoid hiring someone until I have to, for personal reasons, but I'd like to remain legal.

Edit: Haven't received anything from Coinbase, but I operate on multiple exchanges

Where can I get the address/keys for an old wallet?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2018 12:17 PM PST

I have an old wallet, I believe possibly a litecoin wallet, and I'd like to check and make sure it isn't holding anything. I copied down the wallet words but that is all I have so hopefully no password is needed. There are 20 words. There's got to be someplace I can import my wallet words and get my addresses, no?
