Dutch Bank ING Confirms Bitfinex Has Account, Extent of Relationship Unclear Posted: 23 Feb 2018 08:39 AM PST A major Dutch bank just revealed that it does have a relationship with Bitfinex, which may dampen some of the criticism being directed at the exchange. Ever since last spring, when Wells Fargo severed its relationship with cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex, questions have swirled about the exchange's business dealings – and even its solvency. Who uses Supply & Demand levels instead of Support & Resistance levels? Posted: 23 Feb 2018 06:37 AM PST Hi All, I am somewhat new to TA and I am trying to make sense of the different use of some terminology and analyses: demand & supply levels vs support & resistance levels. I've read people using the terms interchangeably. I've read people specifically differentiate between them. The more I read, the more I am convinced that the two are different and that Supply & Demand levels give better points of entry/exit. However, finding these S&D levels is a bit trickier. What do you use to trade? How do you use these terms? Interchangeably or differentiated? What is your experience with both? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Feb 2018 11:16 AM PST This is an second update to a post I made 12 months ago. Link to first update from 6 months ago Since mid-2014, I've maintained a personal chart for Bitcoin's historical price. Even at that time, it was interesting to me to see similar trends in stability followed by quick jumps in price. Perhaps this is Elliott Wave behavior? Anyway, I thought I'd share the updated chart The blue line is the price history (Gox before they fell, Stamp after that). For the red line, it's a rough trace of the first 1x box. The second and third portions are the same pattern stretched wider by a 2.3x factor - as Elliott waves would suggest fractals. As another option, the time-period of the second box corresponds fairly closely with a 4 year halvening window. I see it reasonable to believe that the overall market would have some correlation with halvenings, so I adjusted the third box with that in mind. As the sidebar says, this isn't trading advice. However, most TA is understanding that large populations of people can be "simulated" with mathematical models and then finding the one that best fits the data. [link] [comments] |
Malware That Replaces Your Address With A Fake One Posted: 23 Feb 2018 09:23 AM PST I will dub this malware 'Faux Address' It works by waiting dormant until a user copies an address to their clipboard, it then replaces this address with the address of the attacker. The post below speculates that the malware has a database of addresses and overwrites your copied address with one that closely resembles. There is also another speculation made that the malware could in other forms, change the address seen in your browser or wallet itself. If more people could come forward who have fallen victim to this, we can verify both claims. The post also offers some solutions to this problem that require the community as a whole to co-operate. https://coinjudge.reddit.com/comments/7zpibt/new_malware_that_replaces_your_crypto_address/ This purpose of this post is to bring awareness to the dangers of cryptocurrency. Please be safe. [link] [comments] |
Cheapest place to buy bitcoin instantly? Posted: 22 Feb 2018 09:54 PM PST I have used Paxful in the past but the fees are pretty bad. Does anyone know of a better site where I can get some bitcoins? I need to buy them by tomorrow so I can't wait to be verified. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 22 Feb 2018 07:50 PM PST Btc price has slumped the last few days and I've seen many mentioning it is partly manipulation because the last day of futures contracts is Friday February 23rd (tomorrow) and the futures are settled on February 28th. How do the Future contracts expiration dates cause concern for manipulation? What is the significance of the btc price action on the last trading day, and the day the contracts are settled? Would they want to crash the price a bit before the end of the futures contracts so they can benefit somehow? [link] [comments] |
