There was this nice GPU comparison tool for mining profit Posted: 23 Feb 2018 05:39 AM PST I saw it on my mobile browsing reddit. Was pretty cool as it compared electricy costs, costs for actually buying the card and also an estimated break even. Please guys, help me out I cannot find it anymore. [link] [comments]
New Altcoins - Mining with GPUs Posted: 23 Feb 2018 04:14 AM PST Hi! Anyone knows a good website/subreddit where i can keep an eye for newly released coins to mine? [link] [comments]
Quality commemorative crypto coin collection? Posted: 23 Feb 2018 05:58 AM PST Hey, my father's collecting stamps and coins and shit so I thought it'd be a great gift to have a nice, good quality crypto coin collection. So far I've found
But most of those look really, really cheap, which kinda defeats the purpose of a collectible coin. Also, some of them are golden, others silver, and some even mixed, would be great to have a uniform, complete collection. Does anyone know of such a collection? Also, if someone could find me a ZClassic/ZCash coin, that'd be awesome! [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2018 07:38 AM PST I've read a bunch about people under volting their GPUs (mostly AMD cards like mine) and how they get their rigs down to 100 W per card, while still pushing 29 MH/s. Every time I drop my power usage and change the clock speeds, the rig ends up losing 10-20 MH/s. Worse the power savings are maybe 100 Wats total (down to 1100 Watts for a 6 GPU Rig). Are the folks on the forums exaggerating their numbers? [link] [comments]
Anyone have a way of making accurate projections for a 6gpu mining rig? Posted: 23 Feb 2018 03:00 AM PST I want to make some best and worst case scenarios for my mining rig b4 I buy another one, but it doesn't seem that I'm making what nicehash projected. I was wondering if anyone has found an accurate way to incorpate all the different costs, coin price, difficulty increase, network competition, energy, as well as possible mining pool fees. As you can tell I'm a noob in this space, but I see the value and would love to dive in. Does anyone recommend a more profitable way to mine than using nicehash? Thank you! [link] [comments]
SMOS Power Limit. How do I specify no limit, or no different from factory settings? Posted: 23 Feb 2018 08:08 AM PST I'd like to enter the power settings as either no limit (since I don't care about power), or to not exceed the factory/default power draw (aka 100%)? Is this possible? [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2018 07:54 AM PST I am building a 7x 1060 rig, and the power supply I have available has 8x PCI-E 6pin, 2x PCI-E 8-pin, 2x EPS 8 pin, and 7x Molex on 3 cables. I've read that I shouldn't use the third Molex on one of the cables, so I need to come up with one more Molex connector; does anyone know of a PCI-E or EPS-> Molex adapter of decent quality? I've been looking on amazon and only finding the inverse. Adding another PSU isn't an option. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2018 07:31 AM PST I read in the MultiPoolMiner's docs:
And that confused me a bit. So, if i want to only use MiningPoolHub (+MiningPoolHubCoins) and NiceHash, which of the two should i do: 1) Add all algos supported by BOTH pools? 2) Add al algos supported by at least one of these two pools? Algos for (1): cryptoNight, ethash, equihash, keccak, lyra2RE2, neoScrypt, quark, qubit, scrypt, sha256, skein, x11 Algos for (2): blake2s, cryptonight, decrednicehash, ethash, ethash2gb, equihash, groestl, keccak, lbry, lyra2re2, lyra2z, neoscrypt, pascal, sib, skunk (I got 2x1070ti) [link] [comments]
Program that can output GPU temp to a log? Posted: 23 Feb 2018 01:30 AM PST I'm looking for a program that can log my GPUs temps every hour or so, with the purpose of being able to see how being in the garage affects them starting now and across the summer. Is there something that can do this, and will export to something excel can read? [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2018 06:19 AM PST I'm working on my taxes and had a quick question regarding taxes and mining. For those with several GPUs (> $10K worth) purchased at varying dates, did you file the entire collection as an asset or as an expense? I would like to file it as an asset for depreciation purposes; however, doing so requires me to enter a date of purchase and, given that many of them were purchased at different dates, that means I'll have to enter them as separate entities for each GPU(s) purchased on a specific date?? Doesn't seem practical so I wanted to run it by you all to get some feedback. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2018 05:26 AM PST Do these exist in a nice compact form? As an example: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B078K432TK/ref=psdcmw_6291368011_t1_B0799GGRL9 All i see is 120v/15amp versions or less of a rating. All my rigs run off 20 amp outlets ie 20amp x 120v = 2400 x 80% = 1920... which im close to on each of my rigs. Thanks! [link] [comments]
What card(s) should I buy with $300 Posted: 23 Feb 2018 12:09 AM PST Pretty much I have $300 to spend on a new card for mining, I was thinking about getting another rx 480 8gb for like $260, but is there any cheaper cards I could get multible of that would make more and maybe be even less? maybe like a r9 card? Posted: 23 Feb 2018 02:11 AM PST What OS are you using? I'm planning a rig of x12 NVIDIA cards. Not sure which OS to run. I'm fluent in Linux(my primary OS is Arch), but what do you guys use? [link] [comments]

Powering 6 pin risers from Sata/periph port on EVGA PSU? Posted: 22 Feb 2018 06:49 PM PST I have an 8 GPU rig, with rx 580s, dual psu, 1300 watt (board+chip+ram+sad+5 GPUs) and 750 watt (3 GPUs) I've done lots of searching about NOT using Sata connectors to power risers (fire hazard etc.), so I'm looking for alternatives. Based on everything I've read, and given there are limited number of VGA power ports on the PSU, there are maybe 2 viable options: Option 1) use VGA power cable to power both a GPU and riser on the same cable. PSU 1 VGA slot 1 = GPU 1 + riser 1 VGA slot 2 = GPU 2 + riser 2 Etc. Option 2) ideally this is possible. Use the Sata or periph ports on the psu to directly power the risers (Sata port on PSU/6 pin <--> riser/6 pin). Has anyone done this? If so, where on earth can you get the 6 pin to 6 pin connectors? why invest in GPU mining vs ASIC? Posted: 23 Feb 2018 12:42 AM PST I wanted to try GPU mining so I built several rigs with 6x P104 each rig, it cost me about $4500 each rig. So far i have 4 rigs mining ETH at 180Mh/s each. makes about $15 bucks a day each. before power costs and difficulty increase, this will put me at 300 days ROI. S9 costs less , makes just as much or more if BTC goes up, and no hassle. I have 12 x S9 that makes me 0.05 BTC every 3 to 3.5 days WHY even bother?? i don't understand the game of GPU mining [link] [comments]

I've been using NiceHash for a few months, looking for something new! Posted: 22 Feb 2018 09:29 PM PST Hello! I just found this lovely sub! I've been using NiceHash for a while now and this last-ish month I've noticed the daily estimated earnings have dropped quite a bit (25-30% in sat value) and I'm assuming it's because more and more people use NiceHash(?). I'm only using a gaming computer (which I don't usually do much gaming on) which contains one 1070 GPU and a i7-6700 CPU @ 3.50Ghz if that matters. I'm not extremely tech savvy as you might tell.. I did mine a little bit ethereum last year with a program called claymore I believe, but after mining for a little bit I discovered that they didn't pay untill I reached 1 whole ethereum so I gave up on it(that was dumb). I opened the wallet I had used exclusively for the miner a few months later and it suddenly contained $80! I've decided to go back and mine a coin I have faith will grow a lot in the future, and that is for me ethereum, what's yours? I'd love to hear some suggestions if you have some!
Thanks!! [link] [comments] |
