Posted: 26 Jan 2018 10:19 AM PST Here is a sample from this post: Look at the age of the accounts highlighted in red: https://imgur.com/a/kBcT9 Now, some of the highlighted accounts are a couple months old, which makes me skeptical, but they could be legit. However, many are just DAYS old. As a Ven holder, this is very concerning to me. I first got into Ven after seeing a bunch of quality posts explaining the technology and use case. I think many investors look into a coin's community before investing. Any of them seeing these fake accounts would trigger a red flag. VeChain may very well be a great project, and have nothing to do with this....but they're appearing on their social media channels, and its a really bad look IMO. All that hype, all those posts, all those redditors in agreement....might be complete bullshit. [link] [comments]

What are your hodlings and why? Posted: 26 Jan 2018 04:47 PM PST I hodl btc, neo, and eth because Bitcoin is where I started 3 years ago and neo/eth have great dev teams and interesting approaches that seem the most promising with decentralized internet and proof of stake. [link] [comments]

Miners of reddit: How do you manage your tax burden? Posted: 26 Jan 2018 09:17 PM PST This is specifically for mining crypto in the US as a hobby. And yes, I am reporting my taxes. I don't want Uncle Sam knocking my door down 6 years from now because I didn't feel like paying taxes. This is a followup question to an earlier posting. The three strategies I could come up with. Estimate mining income, and what I would owe in taxes for mining, then choose from one of. or a combination of three different strategies:
2.Invest all earnings, and pay taxes at the end of the year by converting to fiat as needed. 3.Pay for taxes out of your normal income. Advantage to 1 is that it's low effort, though you'll end up paying more due to the short term holding tax rate. Advantage to 2, is if you have any coins that have reached long term tax rate, then it simply costs less, but takes more work to figure out. But if you have only short term holdings, then you might not only get hit with the short term tax rate, but if there has been significant unrealized earnings, you can get hit with capital gains, as well. Advantage to 3 is you don't have to worry about wasting money on conversion to fiat regardless of short\long term, and capital gains, and just worry about your trading, or hodling. However, you do take away from your "liquid" assets to pay for crypto. So how do you do it? I imagine I'll end up cashing out a percentage to fiat per month, and make up the difference with a bit of 2 and a bit of 3. Any opinions? Edit:: Clarification and spelling [link] [comments]

Anyone think IncaKoin is a good coin to invest into? Posted: 26 Jan 2018 09:09 PM PST I've seen NKA in the last week on coinmarketcap. It is really cheap and there is 12 billion in supply. It has had about 600% in last 7 days. Should I throw 10 dollars in there? Anyone know about this? [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Jan 2018 07:51 PM PST In my opinion PHO is a great pick right now due to its real world use in gaming, ease of mining, merge mining, impending website launch, and relaunch on crpytopia are all good signs of momentum. What are the coins you are looking at with low market cap but high potential ? [link] [comments] |
