If you want to spare yourself the trouble of cashing out on an exchange, La Maison Du Bitcoin, 35 Rue du Caire in Paris 2nd district, now allows you to come at their counter with your hardware wallet (They are partners with Ledger) and exchange your XRP for FIAT directly ! Lighten Up & Trust The Process Posted: 26 Jan 2018 06:54 AM PST There are always going to be critics, especially when a company is trying to achieve something revolutionary. Trust the process and enjoy the ride. Here is an old article I dug up on Amazon in early 2001. The company was under heavy scrutiny when its stock slid nearly 88% from its 14 month high. Critics expected the retailer to go bankrupt within that same year. "The pioneering e-commerce company's stock price continues to slide, losing 88 percent of its value since its peak 14 months ago. Half a dozen Wall Street analysts have downgraded the shares. The company's fiercest critic says he expects the Internet retailer to run out of money to adequately fund its operations later this year." Bezos and his team however stuck to their vision and fought through the negatively. And let's just say we all know Amazons standing in today's world. My point is lighten up. Ripple is very much so in its infancy stage, and what the company is trying to achieve isn't something that can't happen over night. The question is are you willing to tag along for the journey or are you going to hop off the train and regret your decision in the near future. You decide. [link] [comments]

Criticisms of the Bloomberg video (banks aren't using XRP) Posted: 26 Jan 2018 09:11 AM PST As many have been pointing out recently, it is easy for the subreddit to become an echo chamber and simply downvote any criticism of Ripple and XRP. With that in mind I thought I'd add some reasoning to why I disagree with the points made in the Bloomberg interview.
The big banks are not interested in using XRP
Ripple's "marathon" plan is too slow (note – marathon is long, slow)
Ripple controls XRP
Ripple won't disclose partnerships / seems shady
Anyone can buy XRP, but it has no actual use, unlike Bitcoin
XRP exploded in value and no one knows why
TLDR: A lot has been happening. More companies are on board and several of those are testing XRP. As these companies validate the use of XRP, more will see the ease of using XRP in conjunction with Ripple's technology. Like he said, it's a marathon – I'm not saying that XRP will explode anytime soon and all the banks will use it, but in a few years? Possibly, as demand for Ripple tech increases, it would make sense that XRP is used more. [link] [comments]

Please enlighten me. No FUD, serious questions regarding XRP that are popping up in the web. Posted: 26 Jan 2018 07:17 AM PST Hello guys. I'm a Ripple hodler and plan to stay a hodler for the next years. Couple of days ago, some I read some questions in the internet and couldn't answer them myself. Tried to, but I can't. 1.) Often I heard/read that xrp is not the same as Ripple (got it) and it just acts as spam protection for Ripple labs products. 2.) That xrp has no real use nor a real value behind it and that the bubble will pop as soon as people realize this fact. 3.) that xrp never was ment to be a crypto currency. Can you please discuss those points, since I'm unsure about how to answer them. I read hodors blog, still those questions aren't answered. I would like a constructive discussion, so we can hopefully eliminate uncertainties. Thank you. Edit: And Ripple hodlers downvoting this Post Shows me that we have to mature, and talk about things. I just posted legit questions, and this downvotes make me think again... [link] [comments]
The Hypocrite 'FUD-Fighters' of /r/Ripple. Posted: 26 Jan 2018 02:26 AM PST If you are that don't even read and click the downvote button :)
Yeah so we had this Bloomberg video....
So a lot of people in here felt it was "FUD".
Many of you even went as far as creating a thread where many started sharing links with ONLY positive news hyping XRP and Ripple. To 'fight the fud'....
Thing is this:
To me this seems like a childish thing to do. One guy says Ripple is crap on TV, many people go nuts and feel the need to bombard this subreddit with positive news about ripple. Although on perhaps a different level, I can see some parallels with hooligans going insane for their soccer team.
Hopefully XRP will flourish when time is right. Have a great day. [link] [comments]

Why exactly Ripple is not considered day to day coin? Posted: 26 Jan 2018 12:11 PM PST Xrp is currently fastest coin, just that fact gives it so much value. I do not understand why people are not looking to use xrp as a main way of sending coins between exchanges, it takes me 1 minute to do so, and it's one minute just because exchange needs to process it internally, otherwise it would be seconds. No other coin offers such speed with high volume market. BTCs only hope is LN, ETH is getting slower as well, LTC is fast but still slower than ripple, other coins are not as fast as well. Right now ripple would allow trades to be tenfolds faster keeping market much more dynamic and excited (I don't mean frequent crashes or pnd). I am unsatisfied that most people can't look through tribalism and see that ripple offers to free crypto from clogged network. And of course I am writing this in hope that Ripple will go up, but most probably if xrp was utilized to full potential (which all you would have to do is to put xrp pair on main exchanges), I would hold because there would be no point of selling since ripple would be utilized as a network carrier. Posted: 26 Jan 2018 11:40 AM PST Whats going on with the prices is simply short selling, coordinated short selling, and bear attacks, look them up and read about them it will make perfect since with whats going on right now, and I think why it's so blatant is because there is a lack of rules/regulations preventing such against cryptos. If you don't feel like looking that up its basically big players wall st. etc. making coordinated efforts to short/lower a price some legal some illagal but since cryptos are not a stock I dont think its protected. What stops or prevents these kinds of attacks is investor awareness, one people realize the attacks no longer work. Basically those performing the short attacks want long holder to sell out of fear, the bloomberg article is a perfect example, I mean why would they go out of their way to try and say negative things about XRP ...? how do they profit from that whats the motive..? its simply to cause doubt and get longs to sell is all. Its obviously not meant to encourage buying or holding so its goal is the opposite, or are they really just wanting to help random people avoid risky investments..?? yeaaa wall st. people actually caring about random people out of the kindness of their heart.. don't be fooled by that... The other aspect is about price of a crytpto or anything in general, lets take the blue painting that sold for 43million, it was a big blue painting just blue paint and a white line in the middle thats all, sold for 43million.. look at the top15 most ridiculous pieces of art that has sold and scratch your head its crazy.. but things like real coins, beanie babies, art, toys such as memorbilia a collector might want, all have vaule because its what people who buy it deem it to be. Cryptos remind me of CSGO skins if anyone is familiar, they have no use other than looks and some are worth thousands, there are even stickers you put on guns worth thousands because of the rarity, I have some that are rare and worth alot to me because there are one of a kinds even though the skins there on looks like crap but to me their priceless. There use to be big money in betting/gambling skins etc. not sure if there are anymore but it was a fun period for sure to watch matches get drops, and trade/bet sell skins for others or even cash out. For cryptos their new, they have a cool edge to them, like a collectible, but there also money at the same time backing interesting projects such as XRP(payments)FUNfair(casino gambling coins) Status(blockchain phone and computer) and several others, that theres no way in my opinion blockchain and cryptos are going anywhere and are definitely the future starting this year I think we all can agree we should more and more of this growth. On top of that Cryptos make money fun, where you can have several different types of money than can change in value either up or down on a whims notice, its fun to see the rise hard to see the drops but its exciting and interesting non the less and truly makes money fun and collectible, you dont hear people saying oh I got some of the new cool 100 dollar bills and some cool yens and Canadian coins.. and fiat is constantly worth less and less, hold a $100 bill for a year it will buy less than it would of a year prior, every year prices of food items etc. constantly go up and up, wages haven't really changed so the rich get richer the poor gets poorer. So you could take say $500 in cash stuff it in a box hold for a year or put it into some cryptos hold it for a year and see what happens, you could say well what if crypto crashes true, but same could be said for the fiat. But as they say dont invest what you can't loose, just like you wouldn't take your life savings and go blow it all on scratch tickets.. but you may take some money and play a few cool new cards here and there and maybe make some money or maybe loose some but its the fun of the gamble and possibility to make a few extra bucks is why people do it. If you believe in the tech and like the scene just hold or if its to much jump out, just dont let emotions get the best of you, anyone that has tried day trading can tell that is one hard beast to tackle as the day traders and bots are programmed to get the best of peoples emotions, I tried twice over the last week and lost 50 xrp then 17 and was like damn it "they" got me again, should of just held. And to those who are on the fence about negative/positive articles, its reall simple to not be on the fence, just ask yourself this, do you want to believe the positive news or do you want to believe the negative news? just choose one and stick with it, if you find yourself gravitating towards the negative articles then just sell and save yourself the anxiety, but trying to look at both at the same time is just beating yourself up, its like going to work everyday saying well im going to do great and get a promotion, but at the same time maybe they might fire me for something like cut backs.. you gotta have the mindset of one or the other, either your gonna kick ass and get promoted, or you think your next on the chopping block so you look for a new job.. For me I think Crypto is gonna kick ass and get promoted this year, and haters gonna hate, just like co-workers would talk shit about another who is kicking ass and getting attention. If you bought some crypto and are negative on the short term, which I think is the only way anyone could be negative right now is from short term since anything purchased before dec2017 is positive, that you bought into new and upcoming tech, that has promising and interesting use cases moving forward, which is gaining attention among the masses, while some other person bought a big ass blue painting to hang on the wall for 43 million... just saying ha.
