Posted: 26 Dec 2017 11:47 AM PST Hi everyone , this morning TenX added ETH wallet and some new features. https://blog.tenx.tech/merry-tenxmas-2749374e12ff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4EwDuEK6l4 [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Dec 2017 10:52 AM PST I'm thinking like a visualization tool where I can move back much faster rather than clicking on the transactions, or some other kind of tool. I see he uses bot to move the funds every 5 minutes basically thus making it very hard to track manually. Thanks for your help in advance! [link] [comments]
Confidential Transactions on Ropsten Posted: 26 Dec 2017 07:30 PM PST So I found a bit of time over Christmas break to experiment with Confidential Transactions. I finally have a working prototype for a CT Token on Ropsten (link). I probably won't be devoting much more time to it, but I thought it was cathartic to get something out there. If anyone wants to experiment with it, I have some test vectors that I published on pastebin (link). I also wrote a small, albeit incredibly dirty and undocumented, python script to help generate CT range proofs (link). One may or may not find that useful. Overall the gas is not the greatest, but it is workable. I sent a CT which proved two Pedersen Commitments of 3-bits (base4) a power of 17 and an offset of 0 wei. These each covered a number in the range from 0.0 to 6.4 ETH in 0.1ETH increments. I also then withdrew one of the new CT outputs for 0.2ETH (thus revealing what it was). This took about 2,000,000 gas, plus another 100,000 for the final withdraw. I apologize in advance for the rough spots in the contract and the documentation. Hopefully some project finds this useful. Looking forward to when this tech goes mainstream! [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 06:42 PM PST Is exodus a good wallet if you want to store not so large amounts of ethereum for probably a long time. Is it a good option or are they much better wallets to have? [link] [comments]
Generic way to view ERC721 token ownership Posted: 26 Dec 2017 11:28 AM PST I have been dabbling in the ethereum ecosystem for a few months, just to get familiar with solidity and web3. While doing some research on ERC721 tokens for a "for fun" project, I haven't found a way to generically view ERC721 tokens associated with a particular address. The most popular app being cryptokitties, I think the only user-facing way to see your kitty 'ownership' is on the CK website. Thinking about it some more, it seems the same problem applies to ERC20 tokens, excepting that you can plug in the contract address into MEW to see the token balances. This has raised a few questions and I am not having a lot of luck finding the answers:

Are there any real world assets or businesses tokenized on ethereum by now? Posted: 26 Dec 2017 05:07 AM PST Not talking about companies raising free capital through ICOs but tokenization of property, art, a real world business (more like stock/IPO) etc. If you have an example (or more) please help me out on my research. Thanks :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Dec 2017 04:03 AM PST From memory, Vitalik examined all the platforms and decided none of them (including Bitcoin) were sufficient so he decided to build his own. Is that what happened, or is Ver right? [link] [comments]
10 peer to peer transactions yesterday(Me to Noobs) Posted: 26 Dec 2017 08:24 AM PST Not sure how many people are using ethereum for peer to peer transactions, but that was my original interest in bitcoin. Yesterday I moved money from 'the bad site' to Jaxx Android App.
Things worked very smooth, almost no noticeable transaction times, fees were minimal. Jaxx was quick to set up, but confused everyone when they found out their backup phrase. No big deal I hope. Overall, a very good experience, and for this reason, I'll keep offering to pay friends/family in either Ethereum or USD. So far, its been very fun to trade Ethereum :) [link] [comments]
Is FUN the only token using State channels? Posted: 26 Dec 2017 06:15 PM PST I read on their sub funfair is the only token using State channels , is this true ? Its called the FATE network as far as i understand [link] [comments]
Question about my ether wallet.... Posted: 26 Dec 2017 11:51 AM PST To send ERC 20 tokens out of my ether wallet it says I need gas. Is ETH the gas? If so, do i just deposit lets say $10 of ETH to my ether wallet to cover transaction fees? And last question, what is roughly the transction fee in USD to send out of wallet? Thank you. Posted: 26 Dec 2017 09:25 AM PST It is currently an open beta, I am looking for testers and an honest feedback to improve it. You can add exchanges keys (READ ONLY), wallet addresses (Ethereum supported!), manually add holdings (or watch-only entries), read news, view your portfolio (using different charts) and your profit/loss, check candlestick charts (from 1y to 30min) and much more coming soon...
Anyway, if you are interested in trying this app here's the play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bitsnapp.com.bitsnapp
Remember that it's a beta version, please report any bug you find so i can fix it, also, let me know if you like it or if you have suggestions, I am looking forward to receive your feedback! App subreddit: /r/Bitsnapp Discord: https://discord.gg/M7nZDKh [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 03:28 PM PST I've noticed several tokens listed in my eth wallet such as omgToken, VIU, Xenon, Datacoin, etc. they are all mostly not worth much but if they do go up in value one day or if I just wanted to dump them to buy or exchange for more eth, how could that be done? Also, I saw EMO tokens and couldn't find any info or price online, what is it? Does it have any value? [link] [comments]
[Help] forgot the password to my keystore file Posted: 26 Dec 2017 09:57 AM PST Hi Eth holders. Today is a day of great shame. I feel so stupid thinking this could never happen to me but it did. Is there anything that I can do? Can I bruteforce it somehow since I remember a good chunk of the password? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Dec 2017 06:41 PM PST I have read the white paper from Ethereum and EOS. I think EOS has many advantages, such as high scalability, high concurrency, and no need for miners for normal operations. However, after years of development, Ethereum has many mature ecosystems, such as the solidity language, the remix contract IDE, and many Ethereum based DApps, all of which EOS does not have. First time I've had a problem moving Ethereum Posted: 26 Dec 2017 05:29 PM PST Sent 0.04 ETH from Binance to Bittrex last night as a test (they have an alt coin I want to try) and it shows as completed on Binance but has not arrived on Bittrex. This is the first and only time I've had an issue moving ETH. Rarely use Bittrex, am I missing something? https://etherscan.io/tx/0xff56065483bf865f2e6c562fef8c1ee4ec75325596c01a7cff896d05eb8eec28 Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 08:12 AM PST Long story short: I recovered UTC files that I created I believe at myetherwallet.com back in 2015/2016. Whats the best thing to do now as far as keeping those files safe? I have other cryptos that are backed up on aws (double encrypted) and costs me pennies to keep it there. So should I just keep the eth UTC files as is? Or UTC files are now old school ? [link] [comments] |
