Kraken wont deposit $200,000 that I wired to them OVER 4 WEEKS AGO, the bank confirmed that Kraken received the funds.

    Posted: 22 Dec 2017 06:55 AM PST

    Kraken Support Ticket Number: 1043072

    • I sent a total of 2 wires, $100,000 each. I have a Tier 4 corporate account with Kraken
    • Kraken only responds to my tickets when i post on social media, these responses are never helpful
    • This is causing my family and I sleepless nights but Kraken doesn't care a bit.

    Posted: 22 Dec 2017 06:31 AM PST

I'm having trouble moving $1,500 off of Coinbase yet somehow 100's of millions of dollars can simply move itself off the market.

    How?

I would take a moment to remind people of normal seasonal behavior.

    Posted: 21 Dec 2017 09:50 PM PST

There's clearly alot of drama going on in all of crypto, but let's not forget about large underlying reasons of price and market-movements.

If we look at the global market price graphs over last 24 hours https://coinmarketcap.com/

We can see that this is not just about bitcoin vs other alts, this is just normal human seasonal behavior. This happened 2014, 2015, 2016 and now 2017 where alot of people invest and where interest and trading volumes are high and spiking around oct-nov and then in dec people celebrate christmas/new years and the general public wont have the same buying influence that normally (over the year) keep the flow of buyers vs sellers in a healthy state.

This lower overall stream of buy-pressure from mainstream adaptors usually is lower across all crypto over this season and normalizes again around february.

My point is probably more to remind myself and all that care about some of the large underlying influences on movement of markets come from normal human seasonal behavior and that we should not forget about these overarching trends in finance and crypto when discussing price over mid-long terms.

This crash marked the return of an old friend..

Random pink bar across the Kraken screen that means your order may/may not have gone in (or may randomly show up later), we sure did miss you! When things were working better for the past week or so, and orders and cancels actually went through in under 10 seconds, we thought you might be gone forever. But you are back with a vengeance now! So nice to have you back.

This is the kind of stress test that can expose any insolvent exchanges.

Mt Gox was fine when the price of Bitcoin kept rising because they could hide their losses but once it tanked they collapsed.

~$300 million in USD margin funding decrease in ~36 hours

    Posted: 21 Dec 2017 11:51 PM PST

About a day and a half ago, there was over a billion dollars in outstanding USD swaps on bitfinex, and according to https://www.bitfinex.com/stats the amount of USD swaps used in active positions stands at about $715 million.

This happens as bitcoin is down 20%+ and most altcoins are down 30%+ on bitfinex over the past 24 hours.

What's the best way to sell my Bitcoin "programmatically"?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2017 09:43 AM PST

I want to stand up a service for the industry not yet offered anywhere but I believe would be very popular. But it requires my software being able to transfer bitcoins to dollars quickly on demand. I've explored APIs online like BitPay but haven't found good, clear documentation yet what service I can partner with to accomplish this? Please share leads/tips with me if you have any, thank you.

Coinbase is currently PEGGING the price of BTC!!! (xpost from r/cryptocurrency)

    Posted: 21 Dec 2017 05:56 PM PST

Coinbase is currently PEGGING the BCH price at a suggested price 0.2 BTC on GDAX (order books have been closed for 7 hours), which is preventing the two markets from resuming their natural growth, and has caused BTC to drive downward toward a $15,000 equilibrium.

Why has GDAX closed the BTC:BCH order books after opening them at @ 0.2 for so many hours? Until it is released, Bitcoin will be held down to the $3000 price of BCH. The longer it stays there the more fearful the markets will become. Is this on purpose?

They need to release BTC from BCH's price ASAP.

    $3000 BCH : $15,000 BTC update 5pm: $3100 BCH : $15,500 BTC update 5:30pm: $3200 BCH : $15,900 BTC update 6:30pm: $3100 BCH : $15,500 BTC The peg continues... GDAX status (7 hours and counting):

Is there a way to calculate the liquidation price when you use coins as collateral?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2017 08:12 AM PST

I got my position liquidated overnight as I didn't have a stop-loss. The thing is the position was liquidated at a higher price than the indicated price when I went to sleep because all the coins I hold as collateral crashed. Is there a way to estimate the liquidation price in case of a global crash?

    Trading with Gemini

    Posted: 22 Dec 2017 10:19 AM PST

First of all, I disliked Coinbase/GDAX before it was popular.

But it took just until the other day when I decided to put my foot down and stop trading on their platform. This AM I made an account with Gemini and am waiting for all of my verification to go through before depositing funds. I'm not interested in buying or selling yet but that could change quickly depending on where BTC goes in the next some-odd hours.

Q's: I can buy immediately after initiating a transfer from my bank account- do I understand that correctly? I don't have to wait days?

Are there any quirks with the Gemini platform that I should be aware of? Bugs, oddities, things not going through, downtime, etc.

Would you recommend Gemini? Are there any better or equal/comparable exchanges? What are my options?

I am dealing with USD and am in the U.S. btw.

Where is the rest of my unfilled btc sell order on GDAX?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2017 07:39 AM PST

I just made a stop sell order (w. no Limit) on GDAX for 1btc at £8599. The bitcoin has disappeared form my balance but my £GDP balance is only saying £2149. I looked under the "Fills" tab and looks like only a fraction of the btc was sold. Where is the rest of my unsold/unfilled bitcoin? Is it still on the market somewhere because I cant see it in any of the panes. Is there any way to retract what has not yet been sold and make another sell order at a different price?

    Coinbase deposit issue

    Posted: 22 Dec 2017 07:00 AM PST

Yesterday I was in a rush and thought I was withdrawing $1500 from coinbase to my bank but I instead accidently withdrew $1500 from my bank into coinbase. I did not have the funds in my bank to cover that and it appears my bank rejected the ACH withdrawal and hit me with a $35 overdraft fee. Will coin base try to take the money again? I don't want to get hit with another overdraft fee. The deposit appears as pending on coinbase. This mishap occurred yesterday morning, this morning I went in and correctly withdrew the $1500 FROM coinbase TO my bank and that withdrawal says it will hit next Thursday one day before the mistaken deposit from my bank which appears to have been rejected

So Kraken, how's that upgrade going?

    Posted: 21 Dec 2017 12:31 PM PST

So we've heard December 11th (https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/7eboh7/suggestion_remove_kraken_from_the_header_ticker/dq4vvig/), presumably /u/jespow is now "disappointed."

6 days ago, we heard "next week" (https://blog.kraken.com/post/1399/degraded-service-upgrade-next-week/).

But still no mention of any scheduled downtime, or any updates.

So what's up Kraken? Going to tell us "really soon" for another quarter? Or just shut down without warning for a half hour of maintenance like you've been doing for the past week?

Or you know, you could be like a real business and meet your schedule and give us notice about downtime.

    Exmo

    Posted: 22 Dec 2017 08:43 AM PST

Exmo scammers. allegedly solve problem with enrollment of coins, but in fact they sell expensive, then wait for fall - they are bought cheaply and only after that they are receipt funds to owner's account.

    Help me decide

    Posted: 22 Dec 2017 12:55 AM PST

Should I use Bitpanda or Bitstamp? and why, please. I am currently with Bitpanda, but I used Bitstamp before, neither of two use an interface as good as GDAX, but I am tired of coinbase shady shite. I am in Europe btw. Thanks! :)
