Accidentaly Sent BCH to a BTC address

    Posted: 09 Feb 2022 12:09 PM PST

Hi there, the above mentioned problem has happened to me, now I know I can recover them if I have the private key for the BTC address that I have accidentaly sent the coins to but heres the problem, I sent these from Binance to Nicehash, on binance I put the BTC address that nicehash showed me which is ( 3ABdB9F7k21zT484HV38Kyrj3yspF3e8fL ) and on binance it shows that withdrawl to that address is successful but on nicehash obviously I wont be recieveing anything but heres the problem, when i look at the TXID i see that its sent to ( ppwj59rse22cv5uq5gx0rmq9xm00qlk7n5lp476rfp ) so im really confused how did it end up in that wallet which I dont have the private keys to when I put (3ABdB9F7k21zT484HV38Kyrj3yspF3e8fL) even though its the wrong network the address doesnt mean the whole address completely changes and now im stuck and nicehash says this address doesnt belong to them or me so they cant recover anything. Question about BCH XEC

    Posted: 09 Feb 2022 03:11 AM PST

I'm not sure, if this is the right place to ask this question. So I do apologize in advance, if I got things wrong.

I bought some BCH (must have been in 2019) pre XEC fork and put them on my ledger device. The other day I sent X BCH to my Binance account and to my positive surprise, Binance also credited me X000000 XEC (X is a placeholder for the amount I sent). So, today I sent more BCH to Binance from the same address, but no more XEC were credited. I somehow was under the impression, that I should have also received an equivalent amount of XEC, just like the first time. Maybe someone could help me understand, what happened there or share a link, where I could further read up on this topic. Thank you very much.
