Posted: 27 Oct 2021 01:39 AM PDT I know msi, zotac , asus all have there own customization tools but I don't need all the excess junk. I just want a tool to disable rgb lighting from my multi manufactor rig. Any tools out there for windows? [link] [comments]
Amd Gpus showing up in device manager but not in any miner... advice/help? Posted: 27 Oct 2021 04:35 AM PDT H110 btc pro 4gb ram 5x rx480 8gb 650 watt psu 750 watt psu 250 gb ssd I wanted to make sure I did some research before asking but I'm unable to understand this problem. I'm thinking it could be to do with igfx/low ram (possibly igfx eating into the system ram creating problems?) Cards will not begin mining on launch (teamredminer/pheonix/ethminer) Many times miner will just close after creating and launching the bat file. I will be trying hiveos to see if I can get the cards to hash without windows but I'm trying to actually solve this issue in windows. Thanks for any help!!! :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Oct 2021 12:30 PM PDT My old motherboard died so I had to get a new one/new CPU. There's not a lot of availability where I am currently, so I grabbed an MSI Z490-A Pro and an Intel 10100F. I use Nicehash. This motherboard has 5 PCIe slots. I'm aware that my CPU does not have an iGPU - I have the non-LHR 3080 as my display output device. BIOS Settings:
Windows Settings:
-- THE ISSUE(S): Simply put, the cards don't like to all mine at once, unless they are all plugged into one of those PCIe splitters that have 4x USB ports on it. If I have 5 risers plugged into the motherboard directly, they all show up in Windows with no issues. I can start mining with one - and it's fine. As soon as a second one goes on, the hashrate on both drops a little bit. When the 3rd one goes on - the hashrate on all cards takes an absolute dump and windows freezes, crashes, and sometimes BSOD (TDR Failure nvmkmls.sys or something like that). The lights in the room that the rig is in also start to flicker. One time I shut the lights off and the rig shut off. I had 5 cards running with my old setup in the same room, same outlet, same breaker, same everything - no issues. BUT - I plugged 4x GPUS (2x 3080 and 2x 3060) into one of those 4 way PCIe splitters and it runs more or less perfectly; the hashrates all look excellent, but it will still freeze up after a while. The splitter is plugged into the second x16 slot on the motherboard. Happy as a pig in sh*t, I plugged a 5th card directly into an x1 slot, but enabling this 5th card causes the symptoms I described above - lagging/freezing, extreme slowness BSOD crash/restart etc. I think it has something to do with exceeding the motherboards max PCIe lanes, but I'm not entirely sure how to change that or if that's even the case. -- Rig Specs: GPUS: 4x 3060 LHR; +100CC, +1000MC, 80% TDP1x 3080 Non-LHR; -200CC, +950MC, 69% (nice) TDP1x 3080 LHR; +100CC, +1000MC, 75% TDP Rig Info:

Fried Mobos' with PCIe-USB3 Expansion Cards? Posted: 26 Oct 2021 10:03 AM PDT I've seemingly fried 2 motherboards and I can't pin point why. I've built PC's for over 2 decades and this is my 2nd mining rig, both configured about the same. This is my first time trying to use these expansion cards though as I have 8 GPU's for this one. I got a couple extra mobos' from Newegg combos so I figured I'd put them to use when I was able to come across GPU's at a decent price. Built the rig out w/HiveOS via SATA SSD. Got it booted and configured no issues with just onboard GPU. I skipped a step like a moron and added 6 GPU's at once. Rig looked like it booted up (CPU fan powered, mobo RGB lit up, etc.) but no display. Took the GPU's out and tried again. Same thing. Keep in mind I don't think the thing is functioning at all. The keyboard isn't even being powered it seems. It has LED's on it that no longer light up either. So I moved on to the 2nd mobo. Worked fine but this time I added just 2 GPU's after confirming it booted into HiveOS. It worked. The config on these mobo's is sketchy because they only had 3 PCIe slots so I was using PCIe>USB3 cards that have USB slots. This is the expansion card used. I had 1 GPU (6600XTs) in each expansion card and it worked fine. Ran for about 30 minutes and mining, before I powered down to add the other cards. I added a RX6800 to one of the expansion cards. So at this point I have 6800+6600XT on 1 expansion, and a single 6600XT on the second. Go to boot up... nothing. Exact same issue I had on the other motherboard. These things weren't even getting into POST. Never booted into HiveOS after adding the 3rd card (it was already configured so it should've shown up online if it was just an onboard video issue.) So I'm at a loss here. I have more mobo's.. but at this point I'm afraid to do anything. Configuration: PSU: EVGA B5 550W + ParallelMiner 1200W HP + ZSX board. The EVGA just powers the CPU/Mobo/Fans. The 1200W HP server PSU powers all risers and GPU's. This is similar to my other rig that has 2x GPU's + CPU/Mobo on a 1000W EVGA and the rest of the cards on a 750W + X11 board server PSU from ParallelMiner. The problematic rig has a Athlon 3000G CPU + AMD B450M mobo. Both fried mobos' were B450's with the same CPU. Sorry for the wall of text. Edit: oh and my BIOS settings should all be on point. Above 4G enabled, PCIe set to Gen1, forced onboard GPU for video, etc. [link] [comments]
HiveOS erratic behavior, missing data, hiccups, you name it! Your answer so you stop posting why! Posted: 26 Oct 2021 11:24 AM PDT It a specific coding that if you've been tracking and logging it, then you'll get an encrypted message that you must decipher with a codex. This will then lead to the exact location of Nicolas Cage, where you costar with him in National Treasure 3: secret of the 100% LHR unlock In all honesty tho......from Hiveos support. These are merely API hiccups, either caused locally(check pinned messages on workers appearing offline) or wide(actual stat server issues), and generally have absolutely no effect on your mining operations. It just means the agent wasn't able to communicate with the server for these stats at these given times. You can quite easily confirm this by checking pool-side stats and cross-checking the times when these hiccups occur, or, if you have logs enabled, your local logs even. It may also be morse code from your future self just like in Interstellar! If so congrats you've figured out time travel! Now bring that 100% LHR unlock back with you! HODL and Tax Time - What's our Approach? Tax Evasion? Posted: 26 Oct 2021 10:09 AM PDT I'm not a tax expert and this is my first year mining, but I'm worried that I don't think that Miners really understand the Tax Implications of what they are doing at least here in the US with the IRS. I'd bet that most people say something like this: "If I don't sell it, it's not a taxable event." This is wrong. Oh sure, if you buy coins with your ALREADY-TAXED-INCOME, then you don't have a taxable event because you already paid your taxes on your income. BUT when you mine, you are EARNING MONEY. Whether you think it's money or not doesn't matter. It has value and just like all of those famous "You got a Car!" people on Oprah had to pay taxes on their car, you will too. The real scary part is that the value of the coin when you file means nothing. It's the value of when you were PAID IT. With Crypto reaching new highs, it'd could be very conceivable that the $10,000 worth of Crypto that you now have to report as income and pay $2,500 of taxes on might only be worth $2,500 if you were to sell it all at tax time. So, you could be required to sell all your crypto just to pay the taxes on it. Sure, you might be able to report that $7,500 loss next year, but still. So, what exactly is everyone doing that's HODLing? Do you just pay the taxes out of your savings or are you going to answer this question "no" and commit Tax Evasion: ["At any time during 2021, did you receive, sell, send, exchange, or otherwise acquire any financial interest in any virtual currency?"] I'm not trying to be judgy or anything, I'm honestly curious. While the IRS might be unstaffed and such, you can expect that they use 3rd parties that scan through Blockchains and try and match up to Bank Accounts. You might not go to Jail, but I'm sure the fine you'd face would be very severe. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
