On Oct. 14th, Valve made the snap decision to prohibit the sale of blockchain games and NFTs on the Steam platform. We believe that these types of technologies are the future of interactive entertainment, that open vast opportunities for creativity and innovation for both users and developers.

Web3 games are a fast-moving and exciting category of games that have a place within the Steam ecosystem. It is critical for the future of blockchain games that Valve changes their stance on this issue and permits tokens and, more broadly, the use of blockchain tech on the Steam platform.

Today, Fight for the Future, Enjin, and The Blockchain Game Alliance, along with 26 blockchain game studios, are launching an open letter calling on Valve to reverse their ban on blockchain and NFT related content on Steam.

We're here to answer your questions about blockchain games, and more specifically why they belong on Steam (and beyond)! Ask us anything!

P.s. If you're a blockchain game developer and would like to voice your support, please sign the letter!

Alright, thats all the time we have! Thank so much for all the great questions!

Kucoin at it again - Complete blackout as thousands of people got liquidated

    Posted: 27 Oct 2021 01:19 AM PDT

Can't say how pissed I am. Can't adjust my longs even though the market is dying rn. Had a fairly volatile long open that I was going to sustain with additional margin, can't do any of that. App is just showing me "data can't be loaded". Pretty sure my position will just be already liquidated once their data service comes back online.

When will exchanges in this business take responsibility for what the hell they're doing? Imagine if Interactive Brokers just went out during a major selloff. People would sue the living hell out of them.

My heart goes to anyone who lost a position due to Kucoin fucking up AGAIN. I am sure someone from their PR team will read this and only not ignore it if becomes a thing.

Edit 1: Yes the market isn't actually dying. Whatever. Exchanges are literally locking up our money and positions as they see fit.

Edit 2: Yes trading on margin is risky. But that's completely besides the point when users can't close positions, can't add margin, can't do anything except pray that they don't get auto-liquidated while the exchange is down AKA can't manage their risk.

Edit 3: My risk management bid ended up going through, position wasn't liquidated. This doesn't change anything, this post isn't just about my tiny little position getting rekt because Kucoin is down. It's about an exchange not allowing users to execute risk management strategies right when they need them the most and conveniently coming back online right as it's too late.

Paid off my crippling student debt after 3 hard years of HODLing crypto!

    Posted: 27 Oct 2021 01:49 AM PDT

When I graduated 3 years ago, I had a student debt of just short of 27K dollars. At that time, without much knowledge of the crypto market and its trends, I threw some money (about 100 dollars) into coins like BTC, ETH and BNB.

Today marks the 3 year anniversary of my investment, and I've made a profit of just short of 43K over these past three years. This morning, I paid off the last remaining sum of my debt, and I'm officially free of debt!

You don't need to be a market analysis expert, or throw gigantuous amounts of money in crypto for good things to happen.

Just have faith! Keep on HODLing!

Last time a dog coin shitcoin entered top 10, the entire market fell off a cliff. History Doesn't Repeat Itself, but It Often Rhymes.

    Posted: 27 Oct 2021 12:54 AM PDT

Currently a dog coin is #4 in terms of volume, and has more volume than all except 2 "legit" coins in top 100. There is more capital trading and putting their money into this meme than there is in several other altcoins that have better technology, or innovation or actual adoption and use cases.

Many prominent alts are quite low or crushed in terms of their crypto trading pair. Many Defi / dex coins are faring poorly, many are below their ATH. Obviously, a lot of interest and money has gone towards trading these dog coin scraps over other projects. As a result, alts havent really taken off.

Last time a dog coin barged its way into the top 10, the entire market crashed 20-30% in a matter of days. The parallels are just too obvious with May. Back then, the entire market was lifted by a rising tide from December to Feb, but as soon as a dog coin entered top 10, things became frothy and sure enough, we saw -10%/-15% days and volatile corrections as many big whales started seeking the exit door.

Of course, past is not indicative of future performance, but often rhymes. A shitcoin entering top 10 with massive volume can easily be seen by big money investors as a sign of a frothy and unhealthy market, and they may choose to play it safe by taking out their profits.

Shiba Inu hit another ath today, every single time it hit a new ath, I expected it to dump.

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 03:35 PM PDT

    Who else?

It's up 537% this month. It's crazy, and I actually respect anyone who held it. I don't hate anyone that buys it, I just hate myself for missing out every single time.

I usually don't mess around with alts, one of my "gambles" i took recently was ERGO, bought at $16, it's $9 right now.. still hope maybe if a major exchange lists it, it'll pump hopefully.

Here are some of my favorite posts:

Do NOT buy SHIB right now

    19 days ago - Up 70% since

Don't FOMO into shib - you will regret it

    +500 million in liquidations tonight

    Posted: 27 Oct 2021 02:02 AM PDT

    ~840 million last 24 hr

    ~500 million last 1 hour

    https://www.bybt.com/LiquidationData

one long alone got liquidated for 130 million ETH

    https://twitter.com/hsakatrades/status/1453277837897699335?s=21

then masses stop-losses go off and it's in free fall

and likely bigger triggering limit buys (plus dip buyers) and we got the 1 hour crash and bump

still pretty crazy that so much liquidated but primarily in BTC and ETH but they likely held a lot of alts too and all hit the market at once in the middle of the night with mostly just — with kor traders busy with 1inch lol — limit buys to pick up the slack

edit: worth emphasizing for clarity it was bulls not bears — leveraged longs. i also comment a eli5 below

My Country is about to go into DOUBLE DIGITs inflation rate. Our monthly minimum wage is only $113.89. Crypto is the ONLY hope in here.

    Posted: 27 Oct 2021 12:39 AM PDT

If you live in the first world country count your blessings. In my country Pakistan poverty rate is 39.2% according to the World Bank and Inflation rate is about to go into double digits.

Within only a month prices of Gas and USD are going skyrocket which means daily life things are getting expensive people can't afford branded suff because dollar rate going high and minimum wage being the same nobody seems to afford it.

    Sep 16, 2021

    • Gasoline 1 Litre 120.80
    • 1 USD 169.20

    Today's Price

    • Gasoline 1 Litre 138
    • 1 USD 175.60

Minimum wage is still the same, poor people are suffering from this inflation most of the people have no idea what Crypto is because literacy rate in here is only 60 per cent as far as I know they count someone literate who can write their name or can sign it.

Young generation who knows about Crypto are bound to buy only from P2P method because none of the banks in here allow cryptocurrency purchases.

Current USDT rate on P2P market is 180. That's the only way we can get into Crypto Market. Even after all these hurdles recently Bloomberg reported adoption rate in Pakistan is 711% over 12 months.

I myself don't belong to a rich family and Cryptocurrency is the ONLY hope left for us in here. I had hard time explaining Crypto to my family but I still got my Sister into Crypto, she's happier than ever.

I just want to thank Crypto community and Crypto in general.
    Sorry for bad English.

    I am sorry.

    Posted: 27 Oct 2021 01:33 AM PDT

I am extremely sorry for this sudden crash guys.

I got my October paycheck today and decided to buy some bitcoin after hearing a lot of bullish news lately.

As soon as I put my orders in the price dips and all of the orders were filled. I know I shouldn't have done this, last time it lead to the great crash. I thought it was just a one off thing because all the altcoin I bought didn't dip after I purchased them.

Clearly I was wrong, my luck with BTC is truly astonishingly bad and I have implicated all of you. Don't worry I did adhere to the mantra of buying high and selling low, I have sold back the BTC I've purchased, so the price might be recovering soon.

    I am terribly sorry.

I want to sell some of my crypto to buy a land and plant trees

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 12:26 PM PDT

Guys, I want to withdraw some of my crypto. After a long period, I am finally in the green, even in a small profit.

I live in one of the poorest and most polluted countries in Europe.
Near the city where I live, a fellow citizen bought a large plot of land a few years ago and now wants to afforest it.

My goal is to sell some crypto and buy some land next to his, to revitalize the depleted soil by planting trees, save some animals and introduce diverse plant and insect life in the area.

I think this is the smartest thing I can do with my money. I can always DCA back my portfolio.

This project is ment to stay in the heretage of my city and the Earth for the future generations and the community. I will be ready to start the forestation in February if things go according to plan.

I will call it Crypto Forest.

    Wish me luck.

Now that we are RED what coins are you buying?

    Posted: 27 Oct 2021 02:51 AM PDT

I'm honestly happy about this sweet sale. I've been holding fiat and waiting for the right moment to buy more. Right now I'm thinking of buying Enjin, more MATIC, DOT, and FET.

I have a good feeling that MATIC and DOT will run and keep pumping. Of course, I don't know shit and this is just my opinion/thoughts after looking at the chart. I also think Enjin will do great. I'm not sure about FET but I know it's a solid, undervalued project.

Anyway, What coins will you be buying and dcaing into?

PS: if you're new to crypto (I'm pretty new myself) don't be scared or worried. This is just another buying opportunity—hodl strong and you'll come out on top. Buy more if you can!

EDIT: I'm not in red! I'm talking about the market in general! I'm still pretty green especially with my MATIC and DOT! But I still think this is a good time to DCA if you have some fiat.

What have you learned by owning Crypto over the months/years in one sentence?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 07:49 PM PDT

Investing in cryptocurrency has undoubtedly been incredibly volatile, as many of you are aware. During May, everyone thought we were on the verge of a Crypto winter, and the sentiment was pessimistic across the board.

However, I feel that many of us in the community remained strong and were able to maintain a dollar cost average over this time period in 2021. However, there were many more big drops for those who held on after 2013.

What have you truly learned from holding your crypto over the months/years, in one line, to those new and OG members in this community?

"Buy when others are fearful, sell when others are greedy" I'll say first, in one sentence.

What are your thoughts on this? I'm curious to know what this community thinks.

Don't ditch your alts if they haven't pumped yet

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 06:06 PM PDT

I think it's easier said than done, but if you're holding an alts that has been moving sideways for awhile and you start to see other alts pump, that is the worst possible time to jump ship and try to catch the ride up. Coins will pump at different times, and if you're holding a quality coin, or anything really in the top 10-20, odds are that it will have its day so just be patient and hodl on. Try looking for quality projects that are below their ath versus chasing ones creating new ath's every day.

Clemency for Ross Ulbritch; Creator of Silk Road

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 05:20 PM PDT

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Ross Ulbricht's story, but he is the creator of Silk Road, a dark-net marketplace he operated between 2011-2013 that facilitated buying and selling of goods (mostly drugs and fake IDs) for Bitcoin. Ross never handled these goods, only connected buyers and sellers, charging a 10% commission on the sale.

Of course, he ended up being discovered and was charged with a number of crimes including money laundering (duh), conspiracy to commit computer hacking, and conspiracy to traffic narcotics. The 29 year old libertarian was also accused of five murder-for-hires, all of which were either not brought forth by prosecutors due to lack of evidence or later dismissed by a jury. Despite this, the judge still apparently heavily relied on the accusations in sentencing Ulbricht. For his crime of coding an anonymous online marketplace that was used for hosting illegal goods, Ulbricht was charged not with one, but two life-sentences plus forty years with no possibility of parole. For comparison, El Chapo was sentenced to one life sentence plus thirty years for his crimes.

He appealed the sentence, but the decision was ultimately upheld. His family, as well as hundreds of lawyers, legal experts, and legislators have been lobbying for his release/resentencing ever since, arguing the sentence was grossly excessive to the point of being cruel and unusual.

Although tens of thousands of his 144,336 Bitcoin stash was seized and sold at auction after his arrest, if even a fraction still remains under his control, he's likely worth billions today.

If you agree that his sentencing was excessive and should be reconsidered, sign the petition below to grant him clemency. It's less than 50,000 signatures shy of it's 500,000 signature goal.

How many times a day do you check your crypto?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2021 09:07 PM PDT

After a horror story or two (hundred...) I have kept it down to about once or twice a day, usually at most.

There were times that I would obsessively refresh my app over and over, lock it up, restart the app, then repeat...

Anymore, I kind of think it's fun to see screenshots posted in my various other subs I'm a part of and not even open my apps.

I actually look more when prices are down a little, to gauge whether DCA would be worth it , or if being patient might yield more coin...

Just wondering if anyone goes like weeks or months without even taking a peek... wondering if that's my future...

    Cheers!

The Shiba inner circle, and you're not in it.

    Posted: 27 Oct 2021 12:43 AM PDT

We know that Shiba is pumping because of the whales buying gargantuan amounts of the token, there have been only a handful of these whales, we know this because we've seen it in the purchase ledger and the price has immediately reflected this. So, what do they know that we don't? A time to close. This pump is being headed by someone, that someone is giving the greenlight to other whales, the second that someone gives the whales a signal they will pull their money out and you'll be left bag holding.

My advice, take your money, enjoy yourself.

    Be happy 👌
