| How can we help Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Posted: 02 Sep 2021 03:44 AM PDT I have written this as a comment to another post and have decided to post it as a thread in an attempt to reach more eyes and to hopefully have a more meaningful impact. tl;dr: BCH tech is already great and improving all the time. What we need is more positive promotion, you can help. The question on the other post was What's the scenario where BCH would come to shine?
This is like saying that the key to PC's success in 1980 was having a 16TB hard drive and 32GB ram. The issue with BCH is not that it does not scale. It is not even using the full 1MB for transactions right now. That is not what is stopping it going mainstream. BCH needs publicity. I pray there is going to be an organised campaign as soon as the larger stake holders feel that the time/tech is ready. whybitcoincash.com was a fantastic start to that campaign. Unless it is followed up with monthly videos, blogs, quality marketting campaigns it will not catch on. One great video per year is not enough to turn the tide. The network effect is not even close to there, despite the great work from few onboarders in Australia, Africa and South America. Too many r/btc users are hung up focusing on bringing BTC and r/Bitcoin down, that they don't see that the market is focussing and moving towards other chains and other systems such as PoS. The only people that care about Satoshi's vision already have skin in the game. For the 99% of the people who are new to crypto, they don't care. They want something that is easy, works, and increases its value (if the dollar value does not increase to at least meet inflation, than the puchasing power of the coin is dropping, and with it, the reasons to use it as a dollar/fiat replacement. This is not BCH vs BTC. This is BCH vs every crypto. Once the focus shifts 100% to what makes Bitcion Cash better than anything else, why PoW is much more important to decentralising than PoW, and why decentralisation is critical, and the focus moves away from beating BTC and instead into competing and improving against all up and coming cryptos, BCH will finally stand a good chance of becoming a dominiant player in the crypto space. The devs are doing their part, and the tech in BCH is moving on nicely. What is missing is the positive network affect and promotion of BCH. Here, we can help! You catch more flies with honey. The Devs get this, Kim Dotcom gets this, however there is a culture in this subreddit that prefers throwing acid over BTC and other projects (which i understand, doesn't make it helpfull) that needs to change, to promote an:
