Posted: 28 Aug 2021 04:45 PM PDT Hey I'm a total newbie to coin so sorry for the dumb question. I have a Bitpay wallet with a few coins as my faves. I haven't visited the portfolio for a while but today I did & noticed there is XRP in my wallet with a zero balance. I did not add this. Is this an attempt at hacking me? [link] [comments] | ||
Could a non-favourable outcome for Ripple cause a black-swan event for crypto as a whole? Posted: 28 Aug 2021 09:49 PM PDT Ripple's argument is that "XRP is just like Ether". Ripple's defence is saying that the SEC did not deem Ether to be a security, therefore, neither is XRP. There was never - as far as I know - an official statement / ruling made by the SEC regarding this. Only what Hinman says was his personal opinion, not that of the SEC. If the SEC and the judge fall for this statement from Hinman and somehow deem XRP to in fact be a security and that Hinman's opinion was just that - an opinion - does this then set a precedent that allows the SEC to then take Ethereum, Cardano, Doge, Solano etc - one after the other - to court? I know I am likely missing a lot of information here. Of which, would probably dramatically decrease / remove the chance of this event playing out at all. I am not overly concerned that this would even occur, however believe it is worth talking about I am long on XRP. I have been holding since 2017 and continue to hold and buy when the time is right. Check my profile and comments. Don't worry, I am not spreading FUD. I am simply posting this to gain further insight from this community. There are some very bright minds on here and I think this outcome deserves thoughtful conversation. Sorry if I have triggered anyone. [link] [comments] |
