    Anyone else find that replace thermal pads did nothing to fix vram overheating?

    I changed the thermal pads on my Asus TUF 3090 and the vram temperature is the same as before (102-104). I measured the thickness of each pad (front and back) and replaced it with a thermalright pad.

    Would going with thicker pads help? Instead, doing 1.5mm go with 2mm instead?

    I am seeing people online who have lowered their temps significantly with new pads but for me it did nothing.

    Gaming PC Mining

    Hello. Thanks for your time.

    I currently have 2 gaming PCs. One that my kids use when they are here.

    First PC: EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 XPG Gold 750W I want to add a Zotac 3060 ti LHR to this if possible

    Second PC: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 EVGA GT 850W I want to add a Gigabyte 3070ti Eagle to this if possible.

    Will I be able to add them? Also if I can, will I be able to use the PCIE Pig tail plugs as each PSU only has 3 pcie power cables/slots.

    3060 LHR issue in Hive OS

    Just got it from EVGA. I had an empty riser in rig with 3060Ti's so thats where it went. Card is being recognized with its proper name but doesnt start mining and prevents entire rig from mining with "nvidia oc settings fail" message. I tried different proven miners and algorithms on top of different risers. Tried downgrading OS. What am i missing?

    so i have a rtx 2060 and i wanna mine cfx solo, i tried herominers but trex and nbminer keep giving me an error about not connection to the pool, but woolypooly and nanopool work perfectly. is there an article or can anybody help me mine cfx solo?

    Anyone have mining experiences with Radeon RX 6600 XT (yet) ?

    Hi,

    I've read somewhere that this should be "the ultimate mining card", even better for mining than the RTX 3060 Ti... but is it ? Has anyone been able to compare both in actual mining yet (since the card is brand new) ?
    It seems to me the Radeon has fewer CUDA cores and according to NiceHash profitiballity calc it's not even close to the 3060 (Ti)...

    Ways to cool VRAM on a 3080 Gaming Z Trio?

    The card is mining whenever I'm not gaming on it, and it is in a well-ventilated case, but memory junction goes at 94-96 at 55-60% fan speed.

    Main GPU temp is around 52-4 at 68% power, +100 core clock, +350mhz memory while farming Kawpow (LHR card), but I'm wondering if these memory temps will wear out the card faster. Also most cases I've seen with people replacing thermal pads that drop memory temp, end up increasing the main GPU temp by 5-8c which I don't want and not sure why it's even happening.

    Is there a way of improving memory temps without comproming the main die temp, and will constant use wear the card faster (compared to the same use case scenario with lower memory temps)?

    Hi,

    So a month ago I picked up a 6700 XT for £600 as a gaming upgrade (from a 5700 XT, which my fiancé now uses). I've been mining with it and now want to add a 2nd GPU to my PC for extra hash rate.

    Am I right in thinking that I can't add a 5000 series GPU alongside my 6700 XT? If so, I plan on buying a 6600 XT for £380, which when combined with my 6700 XT should give me a hashrate of roughly 77.5mh/s @ 135w+- software.

    Anything I should consider before purchasing? Is it as easy as slotting the 2nd card into my case and voila? Would I be able to mine on the 6600 XT while gaming on the 6700 XT when needed?

    Sorry if these questions are basic - I plan to purchase more GPU's for a dedicated rig once this 6600 XT has ROI (roughly 110 days when combined with my 6700 XT hash rate, 6600 XT will 24/7 and 6700 XT will be 18+ hours per day while I sleep and work)

    3080 xc3, bad cooler design or bad paste/pads?

    Hey guys.

    So with the high summer temps i noticed that my two 3080 xc3 inside the grow tent have higher temps than my ftw3.

    To the point where the vram throttles.

    Is it because the cooler isn't as good as the one on the ftw3 or just lower quality pads/paste?

    Just so i know if changing both paste and pads will improve my temps during mining 😬

    Hello everyone,

    I have a couple gpu's laying around and was thinking to set up a rig. I currently have 3 3060's, a 3060ti, 3070, 3090, 3 1660 supers and wanted to maybe put a rig together. I was wondering what mobo/cpu everyone recommends because I have heard a lot of mixed theories on the hash rates. Specifically with the unlocking of the 3060's on certain mobo's.

    Likewise, was thinking of using HiveOS unless others have opinions on that. Was also thinking of ETH and eventually switch over to RVN but not sure yet.

    Any recommendations and thoughts on the cards would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi all! I've just launched r/RavencoinMiners and wanted to invite you to join. I've found that the r/Ravencoin discussion is focused on the coin itself, which is awesome, but we miners need a community too!

    As RVN has been briefly topping the charts of profitability and as eth mining moves over to proof of stake months from now, there's plenty of things we need to figure out together. In particular, I'm looking forward to putting up a wiki to help us catalog suggested overclock settings, and comparing the mining pools out there — which are very much in flux right now.

    I am also looking for a mod or two to join me. There's a post over on the sub about that.

    Custom sata to pcie 6pin

    Hi to everyone, I own 2 corsair hx1000i, it is a very good psu but has some limitations in pcie connectivity.

    Has 6 pcie connectors that can be translated in eps and 5x dual piggybacked 8pin connector

    But in this configuration with 5 gpus i'm forced to use sata or molex to 6pin to power the risers.

    the psu has also 6 output for sata/molex cords each with 4 sata/molex connectors. From what i understand a pcie 6pin needs at least 2 molex (2x 37.5W) to be properly powered.

    It could be possible to create some custom cables to connect directly the psu sata output to a single pcie 6pin? And with 6 direct cables i could avoid daisychain adapters.. just a straight cable psu to riser

    I have a new 3080 Palit Gamingpro being delivered tomorrow. No mention of LHR - any way to confirm without unsealing box?

    When I ordered it there was no mention of LHR on the site and was called "Palit GeForce RTX 3080 10GB GAMING PRO OC V1"

    They are out of stock now but the new listing for the item states LHR - specifically did not when I ordered.

    I will return if it is LHR and the box must stay sealed for that. Any way for me to 100% determine before I open the box?

    Ergo tuning help

    Hello, looking for some guides to tune cards for mining ergo on rtx 2060 and 5700xt.

    Have been mining eth since the beginning of the year, but decided to try one small rig out with ergo.

    Wondering what I should be look for regarding gpu clock, mem clock, voltages, etc.

    Ive got the rig mining now using the settings I used for eth, but I suspect I can get better performance for algorithm specific tuning.
