    Can I recover from Cryptsy?

I am curious if there was a way for me to be able to recover my coins after it shut down? I know there was a lawsuit.

Vitalik's wallet, proof that ETH wallets are safu?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 12:37 PM PDT

Vitalik's wallet has more then 8 billion USD in value. Mostly from shib (7 billions!).

    https://etherscan.io/address/0xab5801a7d398351b8be11c439e05c5b3259aec9b

Is it a normal wallet? Or is it locked by a multisig contact (whatever that really means)?

That's an eight billion dollar bounty right there.

Can you use Ethereum to defi a traditional business?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 07:22 PM PDT

i do not understand ethereum at all but here goes.. My problem: I have a substantial traditional business loan with a bank that is really stunting my future growth opportunities. My solution?: start a cryptocurrency on ethereum blockchain to pay off my loan and possibly raise future capital fir growth then in return pay the holders of that cryptocurrency a percentage of my profits. Is this possible? Does this even make sense? Is their a better way?

Moving crypto from Coinbase vault – which is the best cold storage device?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 08:19 AM PDT

I currently hold around 10 coins in total, each held in their own Coinbase vault (including Bitcoin and Ethereum).

Given the history of exchanges being hacked, I am looking to move all my crypto into cold storage to help me sleep better at night. Cold storage will eliminate the risk of my Coinbase account being compromised or Coinbase locking me out of my account – both legit fears.

Based on my research it appears that the best options for cold storage are Trezor and Ledger. I know that a paper wallet is also an option, but this doesn't feel as secure to me (e.g. what happens if the paper is lost or damaged?) and I don't like the idea of having multiple paper wallets for each coin. So I'm only really considering a Trezor or Ledger wallet at this stage.

With this in mind, I have a couple of questions that I hope people on the community can help me with:

    1. Is the Trezor Model T preferred to the Ledger X by people on this forum? I appreciate that they are quite similar in functionality, that both are considered safe and that it'll largely come down to personal preference. However, I would like to hear what people use personally and why you prefer one to the other.
    2. How safe is Coinbase vault? Is it insured? If Coinbase get's hacked or management are fraudulent, will I be able to recover my Crypto? If so, how? The big advantage of Coinbase vault is not having to worry about managing keys/seeds. Whenever I finally transition to a hardware wallet, losing access to my keys/seed will become my biggest worry. But this is a problem for future me.

I am currently leaning towards the Trezor model T (direct from the manufacturer of course), but may leave some Crypto in my Coinbase vault to help me manage risk – if Coinbase get's hacked, I won't be totally wiped out (same with the cold storage device). Does this sound sensible or should I suck it up and move all my Crypto to offline storage?

    Thanks in advance!

    ETH GAS FEE

    Posted: 09 May 2021 12:35 PM PDT

Just give me an aprox time for my tx

When will I get my transaction verified if I put just around 15-20 Gwei gas fee?

I saw that it would take me around 9mins with 88Gwei💀

The thing is that its been over a day since I put that and I still have it on "pending"

Buy etherum in a safe manner.

    Posted: 09 May 2021 03:17 AM PDT

How do I buy Ethereum anonymously without having KYC AML details stored on a central server waiting to be hacked?

For example, does something like hodl.hodl exist for Ethereum? I know you can buy Ethereum using BISQ, but hardly anyone uses BISQ.

I've already generated an offline private key and know how to do offline transaction signing.

    https://youtu.be/wmkYUmq5PsQ

I assume Ethereum can be pseduo anonymous too?

Could Ethereum implement a proof of time-space mining?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 06:05 PM PDT

I've been reading about some alt-coins that use the proof of time and space and it certainly seems greener.

If you couple this with the proof of stake upgrade coming up, that would result in an very green block chain.

I don't really have the experience with DEX so now i paid nearly $20 to wrap my ETH and i can't do anything with it, i can't trade for SPI because i need a balance of $70 in ETH to trade. And i need $50 just to unwrap it. Can someone help advice me with what i should do? so this point i'd rather just get whatever little money i can get back in ETH or something so i can just he done with all this. Thank you !

[HELP] Will my transaction go through?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 05:42 AM PDT

    Hey!

So I basically have a small amount of USDT (70$) I wanted to transfer from my CB Wallet to CB. But when I see the fees to transfer, I thought they were very high (approximately 25$). So I checked the average gas price and gas limit for a USDT transfer, saw the gas limit was ~46000 and when I checked, the lowest gas price was ~65.

But I didn't have that much ETH left so I put 60 in the gas price, and 50000 in the gas limit. Will it be pending forever ? I saw you could cancel a transcation by using the same nonce, but I don't wanna pay 20$ to cancel a 70$ transcation I already paid 12$ more on...
Will it go through eventually ? Should I cancel ? Any way to speed up by increasing the gas price ? (the transaction is showing up on etherscan but not on metamask, don't know why)

Thanks a lot for your help

MyEtherWallet or MyCrypto to begin with?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 02:36 AM PDT

A new community member here, I've decided (if all things go well) to dollar-cost average and invest in ETH. After some research I've limited my wallet choice to the two I mentioned in the tittle. My strategy is simple: Create a wallet, backup everything then delete the wallet software and treat it like a paper/cold storage and only send funds to it unless there's an urgent situation and I need to load my wallet online.

I'd appreciate your thoughts, insight and experience with the wallets. Thank you

    But of staking education

    Posted: 09 May 2021 05:46 AM PDT

I've been holding and using ether for about 1 year now and am really enjoying enjoying ease of use for transactions and also the money I'm making from the coins I am holding. I am hearing a lot about staking but I don't know much about it. Can someone point me in the right direction for some good info on ether staking please. Thanks.

I accidently sent 0 eth transaction followed by original amount transaction. The 0 eth transaction consumed eth.

    Posted: 09 May 2021 11:10 AM PDT

Now my wallet balance is less than the gwei required which made my actual valid amount transaction stuck. Its been 8 hours, will it ever timeout. I am afraid I cannot finance the wallet again. I am using MEW wallet.

Edit : I figured it out using offline transaction feature.

How can I get coins out of the eth network? Is there no other way?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 10:00 AM PDT

Thanks in advance for answering my noob question. I wanted to start playing around in Uniswap and other dexes so I moved some USDC into a wallet address, but now I just want to get it out. To do anything, I seem to need eth, including converting it to eth. I've tried connecting to various dexes through coinbase wallet, metamask, and trust wallet just to see what kind of options I have.

Do I really need to acquire new eth, send it in, use that new eth to pay gas to transfer my USDC out, paying gas fees at every step, then have this leftover eth just floating around I can't do anything with? If I want to send the USDC to an exchange, swap it to another coin, or whatever? There's no way to turn this USDC into eth and have the gas fees taken out of this amount (or do anything else useful), without sending in outside eth first?

    How safe is wbtc?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 02:01 AM PDT

I am considering converting a few BTC to WBTC to stake. I prefer WBTC because I can earn passive income while holding my keys. Is there a chance WBTC could go to 0? How likely is this?

Is providing liquidity the best way to earn passive income while keeping my keys?
