We should use u/chaintip in other subs

    Posted: 01 May 2021 03:39 PM PDT

I don't know if this has been already posted before, but one good way of expanding the BCH community would be using the u/chaintip bot more often in other subreddits, even with very small quantities such as $0.05. This way, more people would get in touch with the crypto world (particularly BCH), and BTC maximalist would be "forced" to use BCH by claiming the tip (I've already seen it and it's very funny). I'm pretty sure a lot of BTC shills would be amazed while discovering a real "peer-to-peer electronic cash system", with incredibly low fees.

To put this in perspective, if every member of this sub used u/chaintip three times a day, and everyone who received it did the same, we would reach America's population in less than 6 days. Think about the math.

    Have a nice day!

Can't believe how low the transaction fee is! I should've moved all of my funds off the exchange first though (got charged 0.001BCH for moving 0.018 out).

Kim Dotcom: "Bitcoin Cash is a Bitcoin fork and its DNA is almost identical, hence the name. BCH champions the intention of Satoshi to create P2P Electronic Cash. Let the market decide. Over 95% of Internet users are not yet into crypto. It’s a long race ahead before victory can be declared."

Take a minute to consider donating to Wikipedia using BCH

Take a minute to consider donating to Wikipedia using BCH

    TLDR:

Consider the title. Wikipedia is such a nice project and we should not only treasure, but help it remain free. While doing that, we can make use of the full potential of peer-to-peer money flowing accross bordes with minimal fees. Click HERE to go donate using crypto.

    The Tale:

Here follow the little tale of my donation tonight:

I was just prompted by Wikipedia with a plea for donation, as they do periodically and decided to chip in.

The initial popup only offered me bank transfers, credit card, paypal and boletos (a Brazilian thing). Intrigued, I went to the donations page to investigate if crypto was accepted and discoved that the Wikimedia Foundation also accepts its through Bitpay.

    https://donate.wikimedia.org/wiki/Ways_to_Give#Cryptocurrency

Of course, Bitpay asked me for a lot of personal data (name, address, etc), that I promptly filled with gibberish. KYC won't hold me from donating here. The for allowed.

After that it was only a matter of selecting a wallet and currency. Of course I used BCH because I want to donate a small amount this time. Click, QR Code scan, 2 seconds, festive sound.

    Here is the transaction

    TX: 42ab7cd6b103898bd8e40a8bddc6542e48617001dc1377392c13ef7881acf766

I hope many more can do that too. This is a generous comunity. Maybe we can all "tip" Wikipedia some BCH as we frequently see in the comments here.

If someone can find a way to suggest they receive BCH directly, we can avoid the BitPay KYC hassle in the future.

    Thank you,

Smart Bitcoin Cash will increase the Network Effect of Bitcoin Cash 100 times!

    Posted: 01 May 2021 12:16 PM PDT

DEFI platforms generate strong network effects. For example, being able to stake your Bitcoin Cash means that there is an additional incentive to hold Bitcoin Cash, this attracts people that will otherwise go to a different blockchain.

Users will be able to stake Bitcoin Cash securely, generating a return without depending on a third party. The same cant be said about Bitcoin Core as it depends on third parties for any kind of utility beyond the broken store of value narrative. If a person wants to generate a return on Bitcoin Core, he needs to send the coins to third parties. While they could make use of a side chain, onboarding with high fees destroys returns and UX.

I said this before, Smart Bitcoin Cash is a game-changer. DEFI leverages blockchains value network and generates multiple additional network effects.

Bitcoin Core made a fatal mistake, We can foresee the "The event", a cryptocurrency will surpass $BTC market cap when the world realizes Bitcoin Core dependency on third parties means that is incapable of joining the DEFI revolution.

The future is DEFI, the future is Bitcoin Cash.

To think of all the fees I've wasted on btc. This has got to be the transition period into better system.

Oh, and it was nearly instant. No leaving the window open until the transfer is confirmed or validated. Hoping I didn't hit the wrong key somewhere.

Just gushing about bch. Don't mind me.

    Idea for chaintip popularity.

    Posted: 01 May 2021 05:38 PM PDT

Thought this might deserve its own post as I had an idea, What if someone made a sub that basically ran a bit like a mini lottery,

For example, one person is chosen at a time, not sure on duration per person, 1 day? 6 hours, not sure, but within that time, you go on, send a chain tip of 10cents/pence, or however much you like, but imagine if 100,000 people did this? It wouldn't even bother the sender but the winner would be very happy.

It would boost the popularity of bitcoin cash, in turn would make bitcoin cash more valuable, so everyone would win even if your not the lucky user that day.

Any thoughts on if this would work?

Or should I say any takers on who wants to make the sub, I have no idea where to start with that kind of stuff.

Question: Are there any free services where you can easily setup a webstore and accept BCH?

    Posted: 01 May 2021 03:22 PM PDT

I am a Systems admin whos comfortable setting up anything needed to host an ecommerce website so any hosting fees and domain fees I can get around. However everything else I have yet to find a way.

I know you can add a payment gateway for BCH on wordpress with woocommerice however to setup woocommerce now you need to use wordpress the only way to install woocommerce on wordpress is to have a business plan which is 300 a year.

I want to run a webstore to see if I would actually be profitable or even worth the time money energy etc.
I dont want to list on ebay because of the fees and how the system works anything i list would get overshaddowed by users with higher ratings and paying extra to ebay for special placement and search. so not worth it to me.

Is there any ecommerce on like github or something that I can deploy and have bch payment gateway already built into the cart system?

is openbazzar open source can i just download the source and compile it to create a webstore?

What other options do I have ?

What would be great is if there is a decentralized marketplace for BCH people go to a main site where users could browse or search for products and services what it searches is individuals running small shops on say self hosted hardware or on bluetie or other hosting service. Something that can pull from github or an installer that could walk through a setup to setup your own personal shop but links to the central store so if they dont go directly to you they go to the main. Every person running a personal shop helps to run the main shop then that way if someone leaves or gets shutdown everything is still there and accessible.

Make an easily deployable software that walks the user through personal configs could have several tiers of service like a basic standard premium where other tools can be added community style that they can pay for if they choose like better themes also could pay for services to help get their products seen over others on the main site. Also get custom themes etc.

    Idea:
Decentralized Main shopping and search site that runs off everyone running the ecommerce setup
Free eCommerce site builder that users can deploy using own hardware or hosted through providers that have easy deployment options for easy setup and management.
Premium services - Layouts, Sponsorships, marketing etc. subdomain address for the shop
Payment Gateway - BCH other cryptos maybe could have the chance to integrate for payments
Rating system - for users to rate the shops when viewing from main site does not apply if user goes directly to shops own hosted website.
Reward Program - Could create an SLP token system where users buying get tokens they can use for discounts, promotions, giveaways, or redeem for BCH
    TOR integration??

Let's make an easy way anyone could start their own store and sell whatever they want for crypto and only crypto. Decentralized so if one shop sells something illegal only that shop gets shut down and the rest continues to thrive! I believe that would bring alot more ways to spend BCH and create a new type of market system one thats harder to censor
