Mining with 500$ and free electricity? Posted: 05 Apr 2021 07:17 AM PDT I don't have more than 500$ to invest in equipment. Do you guys think that this is worth it with free electricity, assuming I can get my hands on a good 500$ gpu? [link] [comments]

My clock is not going up... rx570 Posted: 05 Apr 2021 07:39 AM PDT I have a gigabyte rx570 4gb and want to try mining RAVENCOIN. I see people are able to achieve 14mh/s+- but i could only get it to reach 9.5mh/s. My coreclock is fluctuating at 700mhz, eventhough i set my driver to reach 1150mhz, IT WOULDNT GO UP 😡 Wth is happening....help would be greatly appreciated😁 [link] [comments]

Motherboard options for AMD + Nvidia in same rig? Posted: 04 Apr 2021 07:05 PM PDT A bit of background: I started mining ~6 weeks ago with my trusty AMD RX 5700XT Anniversary Edition, which I've used for months inside a Razer Core X Chroma eGPU, connected via TB3 to a Lenovo P330 SFF workstation. Rock solid! Last month, I started getting some Nvidia GPUs (now with one each: 3070, 3080, 3090) and couldn't get them to be recognized even with a 4-way splitter on the Lenovo motherboard. So, I dug out my Dell PowerEdge T30 workstation, and all three Nvidia are doing fine in the Dell's PCIe x1 slot. But now I have two rigs running! I can't get the Dell to recognize the AMD, and I can't get the Lenovo to recognize the Nvidia cards. I also have a AMD W5700 en route, so it looks like I'm going to be a red/green GPU family for the foreseeable future. Is there a better way to handle these five GPUs than running two rigs? EDIT: forgot to mention, I'm using NiceHash for the time being. [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Apr 2021 05:16 PM PDT So recently my dual purpose mining/gaming rig has been having some issues. I have two 3090s in it, top slot is a PNY, and bottom slot is a Gigabyte 3090 that's had the thermal pads replaced (stock ones were trash). For some reason, my top 3090 hashes much lower (95ish MH/s instead of the usual 115) when I put the bottom one in. Even though I'm having zero thermal bottlenecks according to GPU-Z, and temps are good across both cards, though the bottom one (Gigabyte) runs a bit harder. Does anyone have any idea why it'd be hashing lower despite having all the power and cooling available to it? Specs: i7 10700K, Gigabyte Z590 Vision D, EVGA Supernova1600 G+, Windows 10, PhoenixMiner mining ETH, no risers (straight on the motherboard), OC for both cards: -150 Core, +1100 Mem, 78% Power Limit [link] [comments]
I would love some assistance - connecting 5700xt to rig causes rig to not boot/get to BIOS Posted: 04 Apr 2021 08:25 PM PDT Hey all. I'm a bit stumped here. I have a rig that is 3x 3070 and 1x 3060 ti. It's running on a MSI Z390-A PRO using HiveOS via a SSD. I'm using PCIe risers for all 4 cards. Last Wednesday I got a 5700xt (PowerColor dual fan AXRX5700XT-8GBD) and put it straight from the box into my rig (another riser), using TeamRedMiner. I put it in my rig on Wednesday around 5pm and it immediately began mining with 0 issues at about 113watts and getting a hash rate of ~50. Everything was perfect until Friday around 3pm, I got an alert that my rig went offline. I was nowhere near the rig so I don't believe I directly caused the issue the moment whatever happened. Now if my 5700xt is connected to the mobo at all I get nothing except an underscore on the screen (https://imgur.com/a/4f004G8). No BIOS, no booting into an OS, nothing. Things I've tried:
I'm pretty lost here, any suggestions? I really appreciate any input. [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Apr 2021 07:42 PM PDT I just started mining on flex pool today about 5 hours ago. It says I have unpaid balance, but when I click on the "blocks" tab it is empty. What exactly does that mean? How have I made money if I haven't mined any blocks? Yes I am a noob so this might be a stupid question.. [link] [comments]
Is there such a thing as encrypting RX580 BIOS to avoid flashing a custom one Posted: 04 Apr 2021 10:58 PM PDT I found a seller that is offering multiple 580s at a very good price but he mentions that the cards were previously used for mining and that he encrypted the BIOS to avoid further reflashing for mining usage. They have also been mined for 2 years but are well taken care of. Should I still pull the trigger or stay away from it? [link] [comments]
Confusing issue with an RX 580 Posted: 04 Apr 2021 04:01 PM PDT Hey everyone. I am having a really confusing issue with one of my RX 580's that I have no idea how to solve. I had a 3 GPU rig with two RX 580s and one RX 480. I decided to add my RX 5700 XT from my gaming rig to said mining rig. After adding it I began to run into my main issue. When adding a fourth GPU to the mining rig, one of my RX 580s begins to spit out errors. The 580 works fine if there are only three GPUs in the system, but when a fourth GPU is added is when issues arise. The errors that I am getting depend on the OS. On Minerstat OS, I get an "Unable to handle paging request at 0000000000165a8" error and the system only sees 2 of 4 connected GPUs but identifies them as "Unknown." On HiveOS, I get the following errors: "Problem resizing BAR0 (-22)," "ring gfx test failed (-110)," "hw_init of IP block <gfx_v8_0> failed -110," and "Fatal error during GPU init." The problem GPU also reads at 511 degrees C and has an "Unknown" memory type. I've tried the following to fix it: Changed risers, changed power connectors, flipped bios switch on faulty GPU back to stock, changed drivers, changed OS, updated the OS, and reset the Motherboard BIOS. Specs: Operating System: Minerstat OS and HiveOS Motherboard: Biostar TB250 BTC-Pro CPU: Intel Celeron G3930 RAM: 2x4GB Crucial 2400 mhz GPUs: Sapphire RX 480 (x1), XFX RX 580 (x2), XFX RX 5700XT (x1) SSD: Kingston 120GB Risers: FebSmart PCIe Risers PSU: EVGA G3 1000w Gold [link] [comments]

Fan speed based on memory temps Posted: 04 Apr 2021 03:55 PM PDT Hello, I am looking for an app to set rtx3080 fan speed based on memory temperatures similar to NiceHash quick miner. Do you know any? [link] [comments]

Separate Windows ssd for Mining? Is it secure? Posted: 04 Apr 2021 01:34 PM PDT New to mining.....I have a 3060 for my gaming PC and understand Windows is the best way to get its hash rate to 44MH/s (or there abouts) using 470.05 driver. However I do not want to use nicehash on my main windows setup as its used for trading & bank info, etc and worried a bit about NiceHash after reading some bits online. So would this work........ If I have an external SSD with windows on that I just boot too when I want to mine, this way it keeps it separate & secure? I would encrypt my main windows SSD to keep the other windows from seeing the other drive [link] [comments]
Looking for suggestions about a pool Posted: 04 Apr 2021 11:28 AM PDT I'm looking for a pool, leaving Nicehash. I got soon about 450 MH/s together, I don't think I can go much above that. I'd like to be able to sell it what I mine about every week. Or if there is sufficient advantage, at minimum once per two weeks. What would be good pool for me? I roughly know different pools have different payout systems, but that doesn't help to compare them. I'm not 100% sure if I can use any exchange address as my payout address. With Binance pool I could sell it off there, but I'm don't know if there is any actual advantage in Binance. Currently using Coinbase, I can get onto another exchange. EU. I'm looking for more detailed "why", not just some random pool. I have seen https://ethminingpools.tk/ and https://miningpoolstats.stream/ethereum ...but...what are they supposed to tell me? I have really zero idea. Initially I was thinking 2miners. But I've heard a little bit bad from them. Again, even that I don't have any way to validate. I've kinda only ruled out Binance and definetely Ethermine, because I understand particularly latter allows small weekly withdrawals, where the pool pays the transaction fee, so it will favour smaller miners than me. Maybe flexpool, sparkpool, f2pool, poolin? (haven't checked if all have EU servers) [link] [comments] |
