Best ways to learn basic smart contract functionality? Posted: 06 Apr 2021 01:04 PM PDT Just signed up for some initiative teaching the basics of smart contracts (here <https://www.onemillionwallets.com/blockventure;). This got me thinking - what else is out there? Want to get my hands dirty and ideally meet other great actors in the blockchain space. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
Should I stake my ETH on coinbase? Posted: 06 Apr 2021 10:28 AM PDT I don't fully understand what this all means and I don't see good resources explaining within the app. Can anyone explain how staking ethereum on coinbase would work? I plan on hodling for a longer period of time and dollar costing in consistently. Will I still be able to buy more while staked? It just seems like I get interest for an inability to sell. Is that about right? If so, how would one go about unstaking and selling (not that I want to but I want to understand the process more). Any help would be appreciated! [link] [comments]

Major De-Fi Projects Guide | Useful for New-to-DeFi Folks | De-Di Deep Dive, Part V Posted: 06 Apr 2021 05:39 PM PDT Hey everyone - I haven't posted all of this article series over here because previous articles have been more general re: crypto. This week, though, I did a survey of a wide range of De-Fi projects that I find interesting, as well as providing a brief overview for new folks of the various different components (market makers, wallets, exchanges, etc.) that manage the flow of crypto. There are a ton of new entrants in the De-Fi space - the majority, although not all, are ERC-20 tokens - and I thought this would be a nice one-stop-shop for a lot of the major projects out there - from prediction markets, to machine learning, to blockchain and IRL identity management, to projects focused on the helping creators monetize or connecting NFTs to real-life stuff. Without further ado, here's the link: https://practicalprogressive.substack.com/p/de-fi-deep-dive-part-v Feel free to leave a comment here or on the article if there's an interesting project that I've forgotten! This obviously isn't comprehensive, and I've tried to limit the article to blockchains focused on specific service development or on solving a cross-blockchain problem, rather than surveying the various alt-coins (I address some of the alt-coin tech in Part III). Breakdown of gas fees to mint an NFT? Posted: 06 Apr 2021 07:23 PM PDT Are there any good breakdowns of gas fees when minting an NFT? For example - adding a new token to the contract costs this much, changing the address of the token costs this much, running the smart contract on EVM costs this much [link] [comments]
I have .75 ETH on Robinhood what should I do? Posted: 06 Apr 2021 04:42 PM PDT Should I switch over to something else and how would I go about that, I heard having it on robinhood is a bad idea and I'm not too sure why. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Apr 2021 05:39 PM PDT I seriously need help as I'm in a bit of a crypto hell currently. I'm an American and I have $164 of a useless currency called USD Digital trapped on a useless (for Americans) website called blockchain.com. They say I need ETH in order to swap my useless USDD to Bitcoin which I need to do in order to send it to cashapp and finally to my bank. BUT they won't let Americans buy or sell crypto there. Only trade and receive. So they told me I need to send in ETH from somewhere else and assured me that I only need $5 worth to function as "gas" for my purpose. So I made an account on Binance.US and bought $20 of ETH (the minimum allowed) and tried to send it to my wallet on blockchain.com. NOPE Binance.US says you need to have at least 0.02 of ETH to do that 🙃 jfc on the cross how can I get my $164 out of that hellsite without spending additional $100's? PS. I cannot use Coinbase [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Apr 2021 05:17 PM PDT Currently I am 15 years old and I'm planning on investing 1,200 dollars into etherium, so you think it's worth it or should I go into bitcoin? [link] [comments]
Wallets with meta transactions (alternatives to Argent) Posted: 06 Apr 2021 10:19 AM PDT I am still quite new to this but I was looking at many lists of top wallets to use and I thought Argent sounded interesting because of its support for meta transactions to reduce (eliminate?) transaction fees associated with moving ETH based coins around. However, when I went to go sign up, it says it will cost 90USD to execute the smart contract to start the wallet. It doesn't seem like any reviews mention this. I was wondering if there were other reputable wallets that also used meta transactions that would be recommended and if they're all going to require a high startup fee. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Apr 2021 10:11 AM PDT Hi guys, I have an issue I can't seem to figure out. I have a Windows 10 rig with 5 Radeon RX 480. I use Phoenix to mine. The issue I have is the following and it started about a month ago: I install the Crimson Relive driver, MSI Afterburner and then atimdag-patcher. After multiple restarts to complete all these installs I launch the Phoenix bat file and everything goes well... for 1 to 3 days. Then 1 morning, while doing my usual check up, I realize the mining stopped and phoenix quit (Windows updates are disabled and all the windows settings are set up to leave it on all the time). When I check atikmdag, it basically reset telling me "found" instead of "already patched". So I patch again, restart the computer, and the miner now tells me 1 of the gpu has the setclkernel issue. The gpu with the issue is never the same. It can be gpu1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. So I edit the bat file to put "-clkernel 0", save it and start the miner again and it works fine, except I now lost 100Mh/s. All my GPUs are performing at less than a 3rd of their capacity. So I use DDU, to uninstall the driver, Reinstall everything, it doesn't work, I repeat the DDU process sometimes once, sometimes up to 3 times and then it works again at full speed... for another 1 to 3 days.... Rinse and repeat. Any solution? TIA. [link] [comments]
Can't Transfer Eth Balance From MEW? Posted: 06 Apr 2021 11:59 AM PDT I opened up my old MyEtherWallet and found a bit of leftover ether (.041) that was worthless but now worth a reasonable amount. I'm trying to transfer it out. MEW doesn't show any balance on the initial page but I see the balance on Etherscan/ethplorer. When I click to transfer out the balance and select send all, nothing changes, and when I manually type it in and hit send, nothing happens. Anybody know how to fix this? Is this because I downloaded MEW 2 years ago and it's out of date or another reason? [link] [comments]
Will Uniswap v3 compete with Curve ? Posted: 06 Apr 2021 03:29 AM PDT Curve is a dex specialized in stablecoins by using « stableswap » instead of « constant product » pools that enables no slippage and low fees for trades (0.04%) In uniswap v3, LP's can use higly concentrated liquidity for stablecoin pairs, and introduces fee tiers (0.05%, 0.3% and 1%) but new tiers can be voted in by the DAO like 0.03%. Can concentrated liquidity be as good as « stableswap » ? Could uniswap decide to implement stableswap, combine that with concentrated liquidity, lower the trading fees and rival curve ? Posted: 06 Apr 2021 12:39 AM PDT Obviously I won't speak to amount but after a decent bit of research I will be investing in ETH. It is not just $100 to play around with, I am seeking to hold long term and enjoy the benefits of this glorious currency. I am no pro. I was previously cyber security and I'm confused as hell. HOW do I keep these buggers safe? I'd love to use an IOS app for ease but I've seen several security cases AGAINST, but the idea of a single hardware asset maintaining all my funds?!? 1) How do I establish redundancy for my funds safety? I've read plenty of posts in this sub complaining about beginners but nothing with a JARGON FREE explanation. After weeks of reading I still can't seem to get all the terminology so, this post exists. 2) I am also very confused on how the profits are taxed. (American but I'm purchasing while living in the EU) While I understand these are big questions, I'm very confident in ETH and excited to get help. I'd also be willing to compensate someone for some coaching/guidance, so let me know if that interests anyone. I don't wanna end up poor or in jail.... just fat and happy with a full ETH wallet.
