Would you put your trust in bots or your own judgment?

    Posted:

There was a thread somewhere on here about creating your own trading bot and that became an interesting debate topic for me and a few friends, all of us having quite divided opinions. So I came here and ask for your opinions, to see which part would win.

As a preface, my preferred method of trading is scalping. I used to trade forex, so when I came into the crypto world, it was the most known strategy to me and seemed like the friendliest. I've been using a scalping terminal (https://bittrade.one/) for the past year and for now I wouldn't switch to anything else. I really appreciated that I was able to actually see and kind of anticipate how bitcoin fluctuated (of course, I'm not an expert, and it's overall pretty hard to be able to anticipate anything in the crypto world, so don't come for me).

Now there was a discussion about one of those customizable trading bots, like what you can do on https://hummingbot.io/ which I think it's the most well-known in this domain.

The idea of the two is quite different. While scalping demands you to always know what the market is doing and always be on top of the fluctuations, the bot has the main purpose of making everything easier and just doing the entire job on its own.

Keeping in mind where the AI is at the moment, not where it might be in a year or five (because I'm sure if the AI become absolutely human independent and so accurate as they will have a win in this situation, so I'm asking to only take into consideration the advancements that we have at this moment) and that every article about bots answers the question of whether they work or not, with the sentence "They can work.", I'm really interested in your view on the following question:

Knowing that in both cases there can be either personal human error or AI error and imagining that you have the time necessary to pursue a scalping strategy, which one would you choose?

    Let's vote.

Central bank digital currencies are a potential threat to bitcoin, but only temporary, says Soros Fund Management’s chief investment officer.

    Posted:

According to her "Central bank digital currencies are going to be here, quicker than people expect" and the example she got was China. China is developing its CBDC for a while now.
To add, she thinks that, it won't be permanent threat to BTC. In general, CBDCs will only damage Bitcoin slightly for short period of time.

Do you see CBDCs as a potential threat to BTC in short or long term?
