PSA: PhoenixMiner has responded to the nonsense Posted: 07 Mar 2021 08:26 PM PST Hey everyone, figured I'd let you know in case you weren't refreshing the bitcointalk announcement like I was that PhoenixMiner is active and has responded. Here's the text
Hopefully it's legit [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Mar 2021 04:30 AM PST Currently running in HiveOS: Core Clock: 1150 Hash Rate: 13 Mh/s If I try to increase my memory clock, it crashes. Tried small and large increments - both won't change anything. Any help would be much appreciated! [link] [comments]
OC setting for reduced noise 3080 Posted: 08 Mar 2021 04:04 AM PST So I sleep in the same room as my PC and was wondering if anyone can suggest some settings which can reduce the noise from the fans. I am obviously willing to sacrifice perfomance at nights but at the same time im pretty new to this and dont have much of an idea on how it works. Thanks!! [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Mar 2021 05:03 AM PST Whenever I come to change any values in overdriventool and then click apply it resets them to stock numbers. Am I doing something wrong? And is there a guide for overdriventool and morepowertool? [link] [comments]
I3 6100 and Asrock h110 pro btc+ cpu compatibility Posted: 08 Mar 2021 02:40 AM PST Hello, Im wondering if the i3 6100 cpu can be compatible with the motherboard. I've seen the cpu support list from the website of the motherboard. Just to make sure its compatible. This is the only cpu I can find thats available at somewhat a low price. [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Mar 2021 07:50 AM PST Nicehash proceeded to freak out a bunch of people about phoenixminer to push their own software. All of their posts lacked detailed about any potential risk. I'm never using them again. [link] [comments]
New mining rig. Win10 vs HiveOS, and should I return the bios mod to stock before moving? Posted: 08 Mar 2021 07:40 AM PST I have a 5700xt on my personal PC along with a 1660TI. I bought a mobo+cpu that I plan to use as a start to a mining rig so it can operate 24/7. Before moving the 5700xt to its new home I have 2 questions:
Thank you in advance for your time and any help you could provide [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Mar 2021 07:02 AM PST Hi guys, Have some spare cash and looking at investing ~£5k in an ethereum miner. Any chance someone could advise me of what to buy and potential ROI? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Mar 2021 02:48 AM PST Would I be able to use a server PSU in my dorm room? I currently have an ATX and would like to get another but I noticed server PSUs are way cheaper. I watched a video and it seems like these server PSUs are really loud, in a really annoying high pitched way. I don't think there's any chance I could keep one normally in my small room and not drive myself and others around me crazy. But I heard that if you keep the load under 70% the fans don't ramp up. Would this be as quiet as an ATX then? I would really appreciate if someone could give a comparison between an ATX and a server PSU running under 70% load! [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Mar 2021 05:29 AM PST Hey everyone, New miner here. Just started recently on my RX 580 8GB that's running on a Ryzen 5 3600. If I get a 4GB RX 580, can I put the card in the x16 slot and use lolminer to get the full hashrate while at the same time using my 8GB card in the x1 slot? I have an option to buy another RX 580 (4GB though) or a RX 480 (8GB). Are 8GB cards going to "age well" in the gpu/crypto market? [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Mar 2021 05:24 AM PST MB - MSi MPG z390 GPU - MSI Armor 8 GB rx 580 (6GPUS work) (7 works with invalid shares) (8 boots but doesnt start/post) I've recently tried adding my 7th and 8th GPU to my mother board because i have plenty of power and I've read that the M2_1 and M2_2 slots can be used to connect more than 6 GPUS. Im able to get one of the M2 slots to work at a time but never both. When I have GPUs plugged into both M2 slots at the same time Hive boots but never starts posting. Thats one issue, the other is when it runs properly, the 7th GPU spits out about 50-60 invalid shares a night. Is this an issue with the GPU settings, or is my problem in the M2 slots on the motherboard. If its the GPU settings, I'm not sure how to tweak them since any remedies I've seen so far seems to be with Windows and not Hive. [link] [comments]
My Phoenixminer (.org) version analysis Posted: 07 Mar 2021 01:05 PM PST Important Notice: Below is just my opinion, do not use it as advice, you need to make sure you do the right things to protect your assets. This is not related to NiceHash as they have not been very transparent with what they actually did. You also have to look at any miner through a critical lens, I am not saying Phoenix Miner is legit but I do believe it's no less legit than it was 2 weeks ago+. If NiceHash did accidentally load this version, maybe this will help. Maybe they know something we don't know that's unrelated. I wanted to share my findings with regards to Phoenixminer (.org) which for those that don't know, is not the official miner site. I downloaded it in early Feb and used it. Thankfully I noticed a DEV Fee which got me to research. Turns out the dev fee is totally normal. In my research I did find out that the .org site is not the legitimate site to download the miner. I use HiveOn Pool and used their config file and switched out my address and mined for about 2 weeks. Didn't lose coins, got paid out, no issues with the miner. I have since switched and simply removed the .org version. With the recent publication from NH, I decided I better do some digging. I compared the .org version from Feb (I still had the ZIP file), the .org version from today, and the legit release from mid Feb. Obviously the zip file SHA1 didn't match but that's because the .org version adds in a bunch of preconfigured batch files. But the .exe (the part that really matters) all matched just fine. All the other folder contents looked completely normal as well. The only difference is the dpool and epool file is configured and all the pool batch files are pre configured. The dpool file is used if dual mining and the epool is used for switching pools without restarting the miner. My guess is the epools kicks in if you lose connection with your current pool. When mining 24/7 I am sure this happens here or there and when it does, you start mining the next entry in the epools file. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong on this. It seems between the two version of .org that I have, the address is changed. My guess is they change this daily or weekly in their download package. But if you look at the current address. It's running at a pretty nice clip - (for those that might read this later and not be able to see below, it's running right now at around 800MH/s). https://ethermine.org/miners/E9b0db35b769be1eFc17c9BbC331d0731D1b09a6/dashboard I don't think a ton of people are dual mining coins but the dpool file is also configured and has had payouts to the address - see below for reference (can't remember if this was the early feb .org or todays version): https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1Pz3EcHsRuJkraNRACUrBrLaxiTPP1VHJZ The .org version has also preconfigured all the different pool files with their wallet and they are banking on someone not knowing they need to swap out their wallet address. You would think, who could be so dumb...well I checked those address on the different pools and it clearly works. You can see the hashrates for the worker are all over the place (I am sure as people figure this out). You can see payments made to the address and money moving around. It's not like they are making bank on this method, but enough to make it worth while. Here is the ETH Address (feel free to look it up on Ethermine/HiveOn etc as there is some activity even right now): So again, I am not saying PhoenixMiner is legit itself, that's up for debate about any miner. But I do think the .org version of PhoenixMiner is not something you need to worry about if you accidentally used it. I feel that the legit release and the .org release are both the same, so long as you use properly configured batch files and remove or reconfigure the dpool/epool files. If you have a lot of valuable items on your computer and want peace of mind, then re-install windows. Hopefully this helps clear the air for people. [link] [comments]

EIP-1559 expected pool implementation vs reality Posted: 07 Mar 2021 08:02 PM PST I was just reviewing the latest Ethereum network stats. As I figure, over 65% of the total Ethereum network hashrate DOES NOT support EIP-1559. Aside from from the ramifications of Forking Eth now that DeFi is implemented. Is it feasible that these mining pools will band together and not implement the change? If these pools are forced into implementation, what are your plans to do with your hashpower after the devs attempt implementation?
