Posted: 01 Mar 2021 10:32 PM PST Hello! In my opinion, the most beautiful thing in bch (or crypto in general) is that I as a European can benefit someone making profit in Africa. My cryptos pump because someone makes money in other side of the world. On the other hand, my networth also benefits the whole crypto community. When I make money, the whole crypto community around the world benefit from it because it causes a tiny tiny increase in the total market cap. We are here helping each other. Everybody benefits in holding BCH. Let us make our goal to increase our stake in the BCH pie. Let us convert a portion of our profits/salary in bch all. You win, I win, the world is a little bit better place for us all. If you chose to spend a little bit, prefer a merchant who understands the idea of bch and does not instantly dump the coins - heck you might as well use your crypto friend as your "merchant" - pay him/her some crypto to do the transaction for you in fiat. For Your Information: Bitcoin Cash Node (BCHN) software can currently handle 256MB blocks already. Posted: 01 Mar 2021 02:13 PM PST *This information was verified with node developers* Apparently, there were advanced developments on the scaling front done, but for multiple reasons developers are very shy about it. One of these reasons is probably that the whole BCH network cannot handle 256MB blocks right now, because not every node software in the ecosystem right now can support 256MB blocks. But BCHN (and few others) already can. Which is good news, so I wanted to share it with you. We're getting there. [link] [comments]

Is a decentralised version of Uber technically possible? Posted: 01 Mar 2021 10:12 PM PST Right now Uber is having legal problem in Brussels, because politicians are trying to defend the tax business who can't compete with uber of course. But Uber is centralised, if enough countries work together to take them down they will go down. So I am just wondering, a decentralised version of Uber. would this be possible? [link] [comments]

Bitcoin has not cleared the mempool since the New Year... 60days+ Posted: 01 Mar 2021 07:35 AM PST We just started March and Bitcoin has not cleared the mempool since January 1st. Proof: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#BTC,3m So much for claims about waiting to pay low sat fees to open Lightning channels for the p2p cash layer of Bitcoin on or after the weekend. And it's only going to get worse. Assuming the blocksize stays the same on Bitcoin (it will) and the demand for Bitcoin onchain traffic increases (it should, it's permission less) we can expect fees to only increase over time. $10+ fees to open a Lightning channel will be the norm, confirmation times taking days or weeks will also be the norm for most. This is how p2p cash fails and drivers users to other chains. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Mar 2021 12:07 AM PST Hi everyone, I recently got to learn about LN and I am amazed by its capabilities, but I do not want to be a maximalist and ignore other solutions. As far as I understand the biggest difference between the forks is block size right? Why isn't a bigger block size a problem? If I were to run a Bitcoin full node I'd already require about 500gb storage (at least). Also mempool space is an issue aswell. Currently I am not able to run a full node because I can not afford the hardware. Wouldn't the required hardware be even more expensive if I wanted to run a full node with 32mb block size? Let's say the average transaction would be 800 bytes. So you could fit 40.000 transactions in one 32mb block. I mean this is amazing! But wouldn't that require my node to download and verify a 32mb block every time a new block is mined? What is when we surpass 4.000 transactions a minute? How long will we be able to increase block size before it is no longer possible for everyone on the world to run their own node? Please don't understand my critical questions as attack. I'd just really like to understand better and the internet is full of propaganda of both sides :) [link] [comments]

Mobile crypto ATMs (ice cream vans) Posted: 02 Mar 2021 03:42 AM PST More realistic than flying crypto ATM drones, which was my other showerthought :-D Could have an app which alerts you to proximity of an ATM :-) Or just an Uber-like transport service that doubles as crypto / fiat exchange. We need a discrete "crypto exchanged here" graffiti sign! I didn't want to call it a hobo sign, but yeah! [link] [comments]
