| Addressing some frequently discussed topics. Posted: 09 Feb 2021 02:14 PM PST Whale alerts These alerts are given whenever a substantial amount of any coin is moved between wallets and exchanges. Usually given through Twitter, these alerts will typically have little effect and indicate little about what is going on "behind the scenes." For example: if a transaction occurs where 1,000,000 XRP is moved from a wallet to an exchange people will begin to speculate. Some will speculate that the purpose is to dump. Others will speculate that the holder is doing this to try to provoke a price drop to load up on some cheaper XRP before going right back off exchange. It's all speculation with little founding on concrete evidence. These alerts are not XRP specific, and happen often. Someday it might be an indicator of an event, but until then there will be many many of these alerts which will have no impact on the coin. Status on SEC case There isn't any information lurking on the r/Ripple or r/XRP pages that isn't already publicly available. Please research the Ripple/SEC case or read the sub before posting questions regarding the subject. Rest assured, as soon as any information relevant to XRP or Ripple is presented, it will be presented and discussed here. Exchanges The trading of XRP within the US is dependent on the outcome of the SEC case. Its still unclear as to how exchanges will react to the ruling of the Case, whether in Ripples favor or not. It is also unclear as to how long the case will take to settle. In the meantime US Residents can use Uphold to trade XRP. | Posted: 09 Feb 2021 01:54 AM PST If XRP is indeed a crypto currency, that is to facilitate very cheap and fast transfer of fiat currency used by financial institutions. But crypto is slowly entering the beginning stages of very slowly replacing fiat, how does this make sense? It's existence is kind of a paradox? XRP is facilitating the movement of fiat but at the same time it's existence, as part of a crypto currency world, is trying to remove fiat - or at least be another tool for the storage of worth and value for trading goods and services. I'm still waiting on a deposit from an hour ago (yes, I included the unique destination tag, and it's been confirmed on XRPscan). It's a very stressful experience that I wouldn't wish upon any of you. Especially if you are trying to quickly convert XRP during periods of high volatility. [link] [comments]  | ||
