| Argument against the SEC claim that XRP is a security Posted: 03 Feb 2021 08:49 AM PST One argument to make is that it didn't matter how good the news coming from Ripple were, it did not make a difference to the XRP holder, and that was shown in the price. For many years XRP became "unresponsive" to the news, even when Ripple was making great deals. We knew XRP was separate from Ripple, and we know that now also. Unless XRP itself becomes more widely utilized or speculated on, its value would not significantly change. Those who hold XRP wish to see it process more payments and dethrone slower coins, for XRP is one of the fastest cryptocurrencies in the world. We also want the network to grow, since the network effect is important to achieve mass adoption and utilization. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 03 Feb 2021 05:14 PM PST I'm glad to see more posts and more discussion going on in the sub! We heard what everyone had to say and made adjustments on our end to better help the community. An upcoming date that's been floating around the Ripple space is February 22, this date marks the First Pre-Trial conference of the Ripple Lawsuit. This stage of the lawsuit is where both parties, Ripple and The SEC, give each of their sides of the case as well as the likelihood of a settlement. It will also be the first time the parties have met since the lawsuit was announced. For the newcomers: Crypto is an extremely volatile asset class, there's no telling whether prices will drop off or sky rocket. News events surrounding coins typically bear some weight on the price, which direction the price goes and exactly how much weight is anyone's guess. Some people say it will rise, and others say it will drop. Take these opinions with a grain of salt, as no one can tell for sure what will happen. Remember that the members of r/XRP and r/Ripple are here to help. We're all responsible for our own investment decisions and we all owe our due diligence when buying into any investment. | Posted: 03 Feb 2021 11:29 AM PST I'm starting to see a lot of comments and posts regarding whether people should buy right now or not. No one here is qualified to tell you, nor can they tell you whether or not buying in now or not is what you should do. I'm seeing a lot of new people here and it's good that interest is high but what you should learn is to do your own research and only invest money in what you're able to financially lose. Don't put in more than you can afford to lose. Once you're properly informed and you know what it is your price target that you want to reach and what risks are involved then you should invest on your own accord.
