NiceHash QuickMiner with an actual auto overclocking tool!

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 07:13 AM PST

My monstrosity. So I called bullshit on this idea and thought it was placebo. Tried it because my Vision 3090 is a hot mess and yes... actually higher sustained hash rate (105mh to 116mh) and less thermal throttling @ +1100. I don’t even think I lined it up with ram ‍♂️

    *sweats while thermally throttled

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 07:25 AM PST

My GTX 1660 SC temps have gone from a steady 68C for the past few weeks to a steady 80C just last night in betterhash. I hope this is just profit switching causing the gpu to switch to a different algorithm that doesnt have a memory clock bottleneck and not the card failing.

What else could be causing this?

Any help? I tried uninstalling the update but it didn't help. All settings are the same. For some reason GPU now thermal throttles memory way easier.

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 03:43 AM PST

There was a Windows update and now my 3080 won't do 100MH/s. It only does 80MH/s. Anyone else?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 02:50 AM PST

Bought new fans and clean it up a bit. It’s way quieter now. A 1450rpm I don’t have any thermal throttling and it’s silent at 22 dB

    Total newbie question

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 08:50 AM PST

Literally just set up a miner for the first time. Probably made some easy decisions instead of smart decisions... Can I get a second look?

    Using Awesome miner

    Targeting Ethereum

    Mining software PhoenixMiner

    Pool ethermine.org (US1)

I generated a wallet address in coinbase and popped that into the pool config.... how do I know it's being deposited properly? That's the biggest thing.... I don't want to let this run along for a few days consuming power and such just to find out it's been getting deposited incorrectly or not at all....

I'm running this on my gaming rig in my downtime

    Ryzen 9 3900x

    64GB RAM

    NVIDIA 3080

I can see that the gpu is taxed. Looks like everything is running properly ( I think).

    83.92MH/s

    Per day earning 10.55ish

Were growing baby! Started the rig with 4 card. But we're growing steadily. Waiting for my last 4 5700xt to arrive :)

    Hey All,

I did my usual live stream on 1/28/2021 on my channel, SerpentX Special Forces. I continued testing off the camera but here is what I got so far, however, please feel free to share your data or findings below with the community. Not all miners are supported at this time, but Devs are still releasing updates so please bear with me as I try to update, if possible. Please take time to watch videos and see the notes below.

    Thanks

**Note: with this newer generation of AMD GPU's there are "Memory Timings - Default" and "Memory Timings - Fast". Not all Algos will see a performance boose with Fast timings, but I added it to the data. Drivers are still not as great, crashes will happen and you will have to re-apply your clocks, and power draw readings are all over the place. HWinfo, AMD Radeon software, and the Mining programs themselves all report something different, so the Power draw below was taken from a Kilowatt meter.

How to run an AMD mining rig?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 07:44 AM PST

I would like a rig that can support up to 6 GPUs. What motherboard and CPU combo should I get if I am restricted to AMD CPUs?

    Thanks in advance.

    Can’t mine with gtx titan x 12gb

I tried cuda and Nicehash. Both fail benchmarking on the dap at 4 gigs. Is there a reason a 12 gig card can't mine eth?

    Dual 12v rail PSU safe?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 07:26 AM PST

I bought a 1500W PSU with two 12v rails. In reading up on GPU mining I came across a few posts that suggested this is bad since you could potentially overload one of the rails. Is that true? Do I need to try to balance load between the rails based on what rails supply which connections? Or does the PSU balance the load internally across all 12v loads/connections?

    Here is the PSU: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M2UIN6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Build advice needed for 6x/8x/12x 3060Ti

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 05:10 AM PST

    Hello friends,

I have some questions for you gurus out there. I am planning to build some nice rig for myself, but I am currently considering which setup to make - 6x or 8x or 12x GPU rig (lets assume, that I can get those cards, no need to polemize on availability atm).

    - for 6x and 8x GPU config I am currently totally undecided which MB to take, I would like to hear your opinions

    - For 12x GPU I want to use ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ (cant get anything else for 12x GPU setup) and would like to know, if I can use 12x of same Nvidia GPU under Hive OS - as there are some conflicting reports, that if I want to use all GPU from same manufacturer, they have to be AMDs on that ASrock.

As for the 6x/8x vs 12x setup, I am torn between "hassle free" single beefy and stable PSU for 6x/8x versus pita dual PSU setup. I would like to know your opinions on this matter too.

    Many thanks in advance :)

Where to buy Veddha 8 GPU mining case?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 04:56 AM PST

Every 8 GPU mining case that can support 2 PSUs is sold out like crazy, and these $35 cases are now selling upwards of $250 on ebay which is insane. Where the heck are you guys getting yours?

    First mining rig won't start

    Posted: 12 Feb 2021 02:36 AM PST

Hello, I got my first mining rig, only 1 gpu so far, I flashed HiveOs to a USB and followed every step but it just won't boot, the motherboard is on, the cpu fan is on, but the gpu fans are not, all the rgb lights on MB and GPU are on, I tried hooking a monitor to the rig and it shows No Signal. I disconnected the gpu and turned on only the motherboard, CPU and RAM and it still won't show anything on rig display nor on HiveOs in browser. Here are some pictures I am really frustrated and been watching videos and looking online for answers for 2 days and idk what's wrong. Please help

M.2 To PCIE Adapters: does it need power?

If you are using a M.2 to PCIE adapter, do you really need to use the power cable if you are already using powered risers?
