Why does my alt coin portfolio seem to tank nearly every weekend?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 05:46 PM PST

Like clockwork, my portfolio seems to tank beginning Friday evening and continually drops until Monday morning.

It's become such a regular thing, that I often wonder if I shouldn't just sell off my alt coins every Friday afternoon and buy them back on Monday morning.

Of course, as soon as I'd do that, the markets would change and I'd lose out on huge gains... But you get my point.

Have any of you noticed this? Any theories as to why?

    Dip Strategy

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 06:50 PM PST

I'm waiting for a dip to purchase some more ETH/BTC... Currently the price has dropped just a bit... Anyone have a strategy in place for when they plan to 'buy the dip'? Would love to hear your plan! I was thinking of waiting till Ethereum was about $1300USD, just not sure if it will dip that low.

Dashboard to Spot the Most Trending Cryptocurrencies In Reddi

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 02:17 PM PST

    Hey guys,

I hope you are doing fine. I want to share with you the dashboard I have created during these last weeks and present you all the functionalities that you could use to enhance your trading strategies. A first version of the tool was involving tracking trending stocks in different social medias. But after many requests that asked for the same functionalities for Cryptos. I have created the following:

    - Reddit Trending Cryptos

In the pages Trending Stocks Reddit, Twitter, you have a list of the Cryptos that have been discussed the most in each of the social network. For Reddit, you'll be also able to select a specific subreddit and time granularity to check the cryptos that have been discussed the most in these specific subreddit. You will be able to see the Current Trending Score and Previous one, to see if a recent hype is building up around a given crypto. Same for Twitter & Google

    - Twitter Trending Cryptos

In this page we extract tweets that discuss each listed cryptocurrency and assign a score to the ones that are most discussed/ have most interactions in Twitter. List is updated each 30mn.

    - Other functionalities

We also have the same trackers for stocks, A Fund Index that buy the most trending stocks in Reddit and show the expected performance for such a strategy, a screener to see plots of the evolutions of the different scores And lot more exciting stuff coming up.

You can check out all that at https://unbiastock.com/crypto.php

Your comments and improvement ideas are more than welcome

Why do most of the exchanges only have records/charts for cryptos going back around 6 years max?

    Posted: 14 Feb 2021 12:21 PM PST

I compared a lot of the major cryptos from all of the major exchanges and then compared the first recorded date on those to the ones on coingecko. The data from the exchanges never really goes further back then 2015-16.

For example DASH on most exchanges is only charted back to 2019, despite having records that go back much further than that.

Is there a reason for this? I'm relatively new to trading crypto so forgive me if this is obvious.
