    I'm finally in for BCH.

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 05:12 PM PST

After many years at looking at BTC and BCH, I can finally see the advantages and benefits of BCH that BTC does not have.

BCH is very practical if we are in for the original manifesto of Satoshi. No doubt BCH would actually become bigger than BTC once people start to realize the benefits like I did.

Time to open up a BCH wallet! :) Any advice or tips you recommend?

    Edit 1:

To be honest, at this point, as a old BTC supporter (2010), I am sad to say that BTC is only there for its price and not functionality. If I wanted to spend $5 on a product or service, the fees and transaction time will take away the purpose of the whole cryptocurrency ideology.

Don't get me wrong, I do still have BTC for its price and diversity purposes. But it doesn't make sense to me anymore to have BTC for functionality purposes.

Imagine being on a date with someone and you had to pay with BTC and takes a long time to confirm plus high transaction fees. Might as well have a date with them in the local fish and chips store... at least they can cook the food faster than the transaction times..

    Edit 2:

Those downvoting my old posts and comments, don't attack me for expressing my opinions. This is what I've experienced with BCH and the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. If you don't believe me, I encourage you to try it yourself!

    Edit 3:

Yes I've heard both sides of the story, Yes I've tried both BCH and BTC. Yes there are politics involved.

Q: Why are you shilling BCH?

A: I'm not shilling BCH at all, in fact I hated BCH before. I told people to stay away from it because it wasn't the "true bitcoin". But hatred and ignorance away, it is a literal copy of BTC with additional perks added. Low transaction fees, privacy features, fast confirmation times and many more! Who doesn't want that?

Q: Then why don't you use Nano, ETH, XMR etc. for transactions?

A: Yes I could, anyone can. We are talking about Bitcoin here. If you add the functionality, fees, adaptiveness into one coin. That would be BCH. I'm not going to carry around 5 other coins to send money to another person, its not practical. (Unless your experimenting with something else)

Q: BCH is a Chinese copy / knock-off of BTCA: Oh yes, let me make something open source and make it better. Suddenly its a knock-off because it has better benefits??

If anything they are controlling BTC with hash power more than BCH. If suddenly they stopped mining BTC and moved into BCH, then you'll be converting your BTC into BCH.

Now is the time to chaintip like crazy outside of the BCH community all over reddit.

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 12:05 PM PST

You want to get 21 BCH on a cold wallet so you own 1/1000 000 of the supply?

Give chaintip a cold wallet address. (make sure to have your seeds backed up!)

    Chaintip like crazy.

A big fat percentage of tips won't be claimed, these all go to your cold wallet.

Now you are making bank at the expense of people that did not want your free stuff.

I have been doing this since the beginning of chaintip and no, I don't have 21 BCH yet.

But I have 1 BCH. 1 BCH from tiny tips that were not accepted and were later send back to my own wallet.

It's such a win win. BCH exposure all over reddit, and if they don't claim it, it goes right back.

It's like Satoshi Nakamoto is standing there in your favorite walmart, handing out free samples.

    "Here ma'm, taste this"

And this first experience, away from just a number in Binance their database ... this is so important.

It changes the "I am getting rick quick" mentality in to "hey this stuff actually also does something"

This is how we defeat Bitcoin Maximalism which is really Bitcoin Nihilism.

And never ever shit on another coin. They say they like Nano, you say you like Nano as well. That it works good and fast and that if it was not for all your friends being in the Bitcoin Cash community you would probably be in the nano community.

They say they like IOTA, you say you like IOTA as well but that you were really sad when the network went down for 2 months. But you are so happy it's back up now! And if it was not for all your friends and family be in the Bitcoin Cash community you would probably be in the IOTA community.

They say they like BTC, you say you also really like BTC and that you use it as your savings account but that you have a need for a checking account, so you use BCH as a checking account. But now you have used your checking account so much that you ran out of your savings account and then you decided it would just be easier to use BCH for BOTH. Then they say, but now you have less money. Then you say: But I also invested in Ethereum, that's done 15x in the last two years. How much has Bitcoin done the last 2 years? (the answer is a little less then 11x)

The main point is that you are positive and tell them what they like to hear. That they are not idiots because they are in fact not idiots at all. They are human beings. They have just been a bit manipulated so we gotta threat them gentle and with a smile on our face and be inclusive and welcoming and compliment them that they were very smart for investing in to Bitcoin and crypto. And most importantly treat them as equals, not as lesser beings. That is a job for the Bitcointologists

Anti BCH propaganda in /r/cryptocurrency from aged accounts which delete themselves next day

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 05:19 AM PST

Yesterday a 2 year old poster created a thread titled in /r/cc "It's so damn good to see bitcoin cash start to fall out of the top ten"

The thread was front page of /r/cc with over 850 upvotes so it was a top 5 article on the frontpage of /r/cc. The good news was that the OP made a fool of himself in the comments and the sentiment and support for BCH was surprisingly good. Check the comments for yourself.

Top comments in that thread weren't the usual Roger Bad Hurrr durrr, instead top comments were also positive of BCH or questioning OP's logic:

"Can you explain why the block size means an average person can't run a node?"

"How is it useful for average Joe to be able to run a node if he cannot afford to transact because fees are to high?"

"Obviously big blocks allow many more people to transact. Bitcoin is supposed to be for the world so that's why BCH went for big blocks, which was always the original Bitcoin vision"

"If you are saying bcash is trash then you most likely never used the original bitcoin and just showed up with the bandwagon"

Now here's were it gets interesting.

    • The account was aged 2 years or so.

    • The accounts ONLY submission was this thread.

    • And as is tradition he gets guilded

    • Today the account has deleted himself and all his comments... which means if you search for "Bitcoin Cash" in the last 7 days for this thread it won't show up in the search. ALSO if you had it saved it disappears from your profile saves. I only re-found it because I remembered /u/mtrycz posted there and so I used his profile to dig it up.

This has happened several times in the last few months and it's the same formula. I only noticed the pattern recently however... If a thread throwing shade on BCH goes right in terms of the majority of comments being trolls the poster remains. If the thread goes in favor of BCH the OP deletes his account, so the thread becomes unsearchable via reddit's search function. I'd have to dig through my saves but this has happened several times to where I've noticed and in turn I'm pointing it out to you.

Also comment of the day in that thread: How is it useful for average Joe to be able to run a node if he cannot afford to transact because fees are to high? - /u/bomtom1

On that note can anyone find the name of the OP in that thread? It seems revedit or removeedit did not capture it.

The noise.cash initiative is working extremely well. Also we are the annoying vegans of crypto and should chill more, say less, and just chaintip more or simply invite people on to our apps.

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 04:30 PM PST

Does someone have an actual answer? Are they malicious? Do they just not give a shit? Does not processing transactions fractionally increase the speed at which they can broadcast blocks?

    Fuck these guys. For serious.

I know, I know, this is part of the reality of decentralization but like...if they're going to bother to mine it you'd hope they wouldn't be so aggressive about trying to damage the utility of the chain they're looking to profit from.

Follow up - is there an obvious way to discourage such bad actors without massive code changes or opening up new attack vectors?

Using crypto to buy: tax implications?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 10:40 PM PST

If you use BCH (or BTC LN) or any other crypto to buy something, since it's registered on the blockchain, I would have to register that transaction right? I heard buying with crypto makes for a tax nightmare.

And if LN isn't actually your bitcoin, does that mean I'm tax exempt? Help a guy out

Bitcoin Cash Mass Adoption Plan #BITCOINCASH

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 04:07 PM PST

Ok guys so I posted this post on Bitcoin cash Reddit and got a lot of good feedback so I would like to know what you think about this ( I am currently investing in this plan so I will update you soon ).

Why Should BCH be mass adopted:

Bitcoin Cash is way faster and cheaper plus it already has an edge on other altcoins when it comes to mass adoption even paypal supports it. It has big volumes and a pretty stable price compared to other altcoins.

How to help in BCH Mass adoption, here is my 3 steps plan:

Step 1 : ADVERTISE LIKE NEVER BEFORE, buy billboards, make the hashtag #bitcoinCash the most popular on all social networks, PR, TV ads. And A big giveaway, at least 5$ per person if they post about BCH or write an article. I am planning a 500k giveaway, which will be principally paid by me, however, we may raise more funds and make it a bigger event.

Also promoting businesses that use BCH is a great idea.

GUYS PAYPAL JUST ANNOUNCED THAT IT WILL ACCEPT BCH AS A FUNDING SOURCE!!!! HMMM Unlike a certain DOGE.

Step 2: Start a foundation/organization and create a mutual fund between us and start giving out small businesses and merchants a small amount of money in BCH so they can buy the equipment, courses ... to start accepting BCH in their stores.

STEP 3: Start a worldwide marketplace. It would be the first worldwide marketplace ( eBay style but in crypto).

Give me your opinions, we are here to talk about BCH so please don't promote or talk about other cryptos and no I am not saying BCH is the real bitcoin but simply that BCH is better for everyday use,

The r/wallstreetbets moderator coup d'etat failed it seems.

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 09:01 PM PST

Not directly related to Bitcoin, but still. It's nice to see that it failed. Especially since it feels reminiscent of r/Bitcoin's hostile takeover. Reddit admins stepped in and solved the issue. Good to see that at least this time, they were able to stop a hostile takeover from occurring. Having control of a subreddit as big as that, especially with a group like that could have been a recipe for mass market manipulation. Too bad they didn't step in when r/Bitcoin was under attack, but I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Glad it worked out for the folks over on r/wallstreetbets.

Are there more revenue-generating sites in BCH?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 07:44 PM PST

I would like to know if you have knowledge of some other sites where I can generate revenue in BCH, such as Read.cash for example.

This would be of great help to me since I want to work and generate enough to be able to Finance my projects with the community and also my university career that is making it difficult for me to afford this year's enrolment.

I would be very helpful that information thank you

    Buying from amazon with bitcoin

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 10:32 PM PST

    Hello!

I want to buy from amazon using bitcoin
So I have 2 choices either a website like PurseIO or buying a Gift card
Purse.IO don't support my country anymore. Used if for years then they removed my country when ordering i can't select the address with that country, idk why
Any recommendations for an alternative like Purse ?

I did my researches of course and found that I can buy gift cards from Paxful, LocalBitcoins, Redeeem etc.. but it might be risky purchasing a fraudulent GC considering the discount you are getting.
Do you recommend buying from them? any other legitimate website with no risk?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

To everybody getting into cryptocurrencies (and also experienced holders): DO NOT SHARE THE SEED OF YOUR WALLET!

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 12:19 PM PST

After recently reading a multitude of similar posts, I would like to state two things that I would consider as essential when getting into cryptocurrencies:

    1. Do not leave substantial sums of cryptocurrencies on an exchange! As most of you have probably already read, "Not your keys, not your Bitcoin!". Even though you might be tired of hearing this (or in case you have never heard it), the statement is 100% accurate. When your crypto is stored on an exchange, they are in control of it and even though the occurance of exchanges being hacked has gone down, human errors or theft from employees of the exchanges still take place. Hence, if you own a substantial amount of any cryptocurrency, get a hardware wallet and transfer your crypto onto it.
    2. NEVER, under no circumstances share the seed (recovery phrase) of your wallet! Even though the packaging of most hardware wallets states this multiple times and during the installation process you are reminded again, there are still posts talking about scams, from both experienced and inexperienced crypto holders that have been scammed by sharing their seed. Customer service is never going to contact you and ask for your seed or for you to type it in somewhere. The only time you will need your seed is to transfer or recover your wallet. Also don't store your seed on a device that is connected to the internet (smartphone, pc, etc.), as this makes the whole reasoning behind storing the seed on a piece of paper or metal obsolete. Even if the device connects only once to the internet, it could become vulnerability as malware or other software could gain acces to the seed of your wallet and hence to the crypto sotred in it. Therefore, keep it on a piece of paper or engrave it on a metal plate. Also don´t take a picture of the seed, this might sound obvious but trust me I have heard about enough stories like these.

So please take the two things I stated into consideration in case you are getting ready to purchase crypto or think whether you followed both tips in case you already own crypto. You will save yourself a lot of headaches in the future and won´t spread the message that it is difficult and unsafe to buy crpytocurrencies and store them. Even if you don´t want to do it for yourself, do it for the crypto community.

(I know that the information in this post might seem redundant and obvious to some people but I believe that we as a community must do more prevention work in order to prevent fraud and crypto loss from happening and to improve the public perception of all cryptocurrencies.)

Thanks for reading and stay safe!
