Sold .5 btc to put a down payment on a house. Posted: 13 Feb 2021 02:15 PM PST Me and my fiancé talked and we agreed on this decision. Though I feel so sad now. I don't have nearly as much btc as I use too. And getting back to these levels seems almost impossible. Tell me I made the right decision. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Feb 2021 11:13 PM PST I am in my mid 30s and have been lucky enough to see three major cycles-housing, tech, and crypto. Disclaimer-not investing advice, yada yada yada I will tell you one thing-the people I know with real money are buying bitcoin. The people will kind of real money-well, they are buying bitcoin, and trying to buy more. And the people without money but with good income-well, a lot of them are waiting to buy bitcoin. And, they will blame everyone but themselves when bitcoin goes to $200k, or they will not dollar cost average, yolo in at 55k, see a 2k drop, panic sell, etc. For the younger generation that had the guts to buy this when it crapped the bed-good for you. I wish lambos, mansions, and wealth upon you and your families. The real challenge is most people with a higher than average income think they are smart, that they can time markets, etc. It is the most ridiculous thing-but I am starting to realize it's very common. Bitcoin reminds me of housing in 2014-2015-at this point, most people turned bearish, waiting for the next crash. What they didn't understand at the time, nor did I, was why it was happening-massive debasement and lowering of rates. If you haven't figured it out, the government will go crazy trying to prevent a crash. Just wait till the REAL money printing starts. IMHO, bitcoin is about to leave orbit. [link] [comments]
Do not get discouraged on bitcoin‘s current price, your not too late. Posted: 13 Feb 2021 10:14 AM PST 6 years ago owning .5 Bitcoin was around $100. Today that would be 24k. Don't think about owning 1 whole bitcoin, it's about accumulating in these early stages, and yes bitcoin is still early. Imagine 6 from now how much a fraction of a bitcoin will be worth. Very few people will own 1 whole bitcoin in the future, but you will be ahead of the pack if you start accumulating now while it's under six figures. 6 years from now when it's in the millions people will wish they put in what they can at 45-50k. we still buy gold all these years later, even though we still have current gold mines running. Bitcoin will become more and more scarce as time goes on and eventually owning one fraction of it make you extremely wealthy, simply because of the fact that there will eventually be no more supply and a huge demand. Remember the last bitcoin that will ever be mined will be in the year 2140. That would be like if we stopped Mining gold in the 1300s, how much would one ounce of gold be right now? A LOT If we stoped printing up money back in the early 1900s, how much would $100 be right now? Bitcoin is unlike any other currency/commodity. The supply will eventually run out and those who have even a little bit will control the wealth around the world. [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Feb 2021 12:15 AM PST I see people instantly lose interest when they see 48k and don't understand that they can buy Satoshi's. Is there/could there be a SAT ticker that people can track/watch/buy into? I feel it would be much more palatable to the average Joe. [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Feb 2021 12:22 AM PST — Dear Elon — DOGE's gone up, I'm wondering why I didn't get in at all The tweets you've sent of Shiba Inus Didn't benefit me at all Even if I buy now, it's all too late But still your picture's on my wall It reminds me, you might tell them all That Bitcoin rules all — (1/28/2021) Dear Elon, I @ed you but you're still not replying I sent my Bitcoin address, Facebook status, and a picture of my cat that's dying. BTC hit an all-time high recently, but you said you've never bought in There probably was a problem with the exchange you use or something Anyway, I hope you get this man, just try to hit me back DOGE is wack, truly yours, your biggest fan This is Stan — (2/4/2021) Dear mister "I'm too good to tweet about BTC", this will be the last message you'll ever read from me, it's been forever and still no tweet, I don't deserve it? I bought the short shorts off your website, and side note, they fit perfect So this is my message I'm sending you, I hope you hear it, I'm in a Tesla right now, and I disabled autopilot Hey Elon, I drank some Teslaquila, I had to try it You know that song by Phil Collins, fuck it, I can't find it Anyway, it's about this guy who could have saved some other guy from drowning, but didn't, then Phil saw it all, then at his show he found him That's got absolutely nothing to do with this, but hey, why didn't you tweet about Satoshi? Now it's too late, I have no buying power and DOGE is green as Yoshi And all I wanted was for you to shill for BTC I hope you know that I'm gonna go key a Model 3 I love you Elon, we could have mooned together, think about it You ruined it now, I hope DOGE tanks and you dream about it And when it tanks, I hope the bag holders blame you and they scream about it I hope your short shorts, get shorter and you can't breathe inside em "BUY DOGE, BUY DOGE" SHUT UP Twitter, I'm trying to talk Hey Elon that's the "DOGE Army" tied up in my trunk But I don't try to guide them, no, see I ain't like you Cause if they chase the moon, they'll suffer more when DOGE dies too Well gotta go, I'm almost to the bridge now Oh shit, I just lost service, how am I supposed to send this post ou... — (2/8/2021) Dear Stan, I meant to write you sooner but I just been busy You said you're all in Bitcoin, well, that's really interesting Look, I'm really flattered you like your shorts and that's a fact And here's an autograph for your dying cat I wrote it on this Tesla cap I'm sorry I didn't see your tweets, I must have missed you Don't think I did that shit intentionally just to diss you But what's this shit about me shilling DOGE, like I got issues? I say that shit just clowning dog, cmon how fucked up is you? You got some issues Stan, I think you need to listen I got bigger plans for Bitcoin, you just need to pay attention And all this shit about us shooting to the moon together? That's my master plan, and Bitcoin's going to rule forever I really think you and your cat should listen closely Or maybe you should just refrain from posting But either way just read this message, I just hope it reaches you in time So you can understand, Bitcoin will be doin' just fine If you relax a little, I'm glad I'm important to you, but Stan Why are you so mad? Try to understand, that Bitcoin is the plan I sent the DOGE Army to the moon, so they don't try to start shit While I bring Bitcoin out to Mars, in my shiny Starship I seen this one shit on the news yesterday that made me sick Some dude was lit and drove his car over a bridge Before the news of our Bitcoin investment sent the price up 15% And on his phone they found a draft, but they didn't say who it was to Come to think about, his name was, it was you Damn! Posted: 13 Feb 2021 09:11 PM PST Just don't do something stupid and throw your live savings into btc right now. Not saying btc will crash, but a correction is due whether the moon boys want to admit it to themselves or not That is all, be wise [link] [comments]

Is there someone or something buying billions of dollars worth of bitcoin right now? Posted: 14 Feb 2021 01:49 AM PST There is a constant stream of orders right now that is in the billions. I have not seen this since Tesla and this cannot be coming from small investors, it's literally spiking the coin to the 49k+ territory. [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Feb 2021 10:45 PM PST I first bought 12/16/2017, pretty much the peak of the last cycle. I hodled I was depressed I bought more I bought more I just kept buying. I learned a lot about economics along the way and grew even greater conviction. Closing in on a trillion $ market cap I've been full of happiness and conviction. I think the game is won, most don't know yet. I will hodl on! [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Feb 2021 11:59 PM PST Money can by you a Lambo or House and many fine things, but nothing you buy has joy in it. Once you have had the car/house/experience/financial freedom, you will find yourself mentally back in the same place. When you really want something in life and then you finally get it, everything feels good, and the world is great. But it's not the getting of the desired object or experience that makes you feel better, it's losing the feeling of desire that makes you feel better. Once the feeling of the next desire comes back, that uncomfortable feeling comes back again. I say this from a place of experience. Instead of dreaming of how your life will be so different when Bitcoin moons while continually checking the price and writing 'when moon.' Be good to yourself, make some new good habits instead. Feed your mind so that you are prepared for that moon landing. In a way, live as though you already have what you want. So that when Bitcoin does moon, there is more to it than just buying more stuff, because I guarantee no matter what it is, the feeling of satisfaction won't last long. Bitcoin is about changing the world and also the way we think about ourselves and our goals. You can live in the biggest mansion, with a fleet of cars, but there you will be, the same person you were before, unless you have some inner growth and realisations. Once you reach that place, watching Bitcoin succeed is great, but better than that, is watching yourself be ok whatever Bitcoin is doing. I live by this small sentence, "The world cannot own a man, who wants nothing." Bitcoin for me over the years has been life changing, even though I have never spent a satoshi. But what I look forward to most is doing good for the people I care for most, and maybe some I don't. Bitcoin - Go forth and prosper. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Feb 2021 10:23 PM PST Not much. Had my morning coffe, read a few pages of a book, took the dog for a walk and watched another BTC ATH. As previously said, not much. Just a normal bull market Sunday morning. [link] [comments]
Know what you should be paying for transactions Posted: 14 Feb 2021 12:40 AM PST G'day, I've just been looking in to transactions and fees and there's a few things that I think some people (myself included) probably don't pay attention to. If you're like me it's because it's a bit of a pain to put in the effort and my wallet always suggests a fee which I'd just go with. I think myself and others may be over paying fees for no tangible benefit because the easy option is well easy, but expensive. I've just been looking at mempool space and recommend anyone who's transferring BTC to take a look. Specifically information such as: the ~sat/vB of the previous blocks mined (purple) and projected blocks (yellow). Also to look at the spread of sat/vB rate. There is quite a spread in blocks with some people paying very high fees for their transactions (10x what the median fee is). Also the other thing I want to note is that transaction costs are based on total data. The effect of this is if you use multiple inputs to send BTC then your cost will be higher because you're sending more data. Most wallets let you choose what inputs you use for a transaction so if you can select an individual transaction that will meet the needs (higher value) for what you need to send then you're better off. Also collating transactions when things are cheap allows you to do this, by sending low value transactions to yourself all rolled in to one. If anyone has any other information they want to share about this to improve my knowledge or others that'd be great. If everyone knows all this and I'm just the fool in the corner then downvote me out of existence! Cheers [link] [comments]

If you want the price of Bitcoin to go up... Posted: 13 Feb 2021 03:09 PM PST ...don't store Bitcoins on other people's equipment, where they can be rehypothecated. The rehypothecation of gold via "paper gold" has stalled the price of gold - do you want criminals to be able to suppress the price of Bitcoin, too? I don't. For example, move Bitcoins off exchanges, don't lend them. Buy actual Bitcoins instead of ETFs, Grayscale stock, etc. Furthermore, "Not your keys, not your Bitcoins." Governments are going to become desperate as their fiat currencies fail and go to zero. In their desperation, they will figure out that custodial Bitcoins are low hanging fruit and easy to confiscate. The custodians will gladly hand over your Bitcoins to keep their own butts out of jail. Don't just hand over your wealth like that. Maintain actual ownership of actual Bitcoins in your own wallet. A little prevention goes a long way. [link] [comments]

The best thing that you can do for bitcoin... other than buying it Posted: 13 Feb 2021 03:34 PM PST Spread the word, education is key, Educate your friends, family, neighbors, acquaintances, people at work, your boss, everybody you know. Consult them on how bitcoin works and the benefits it has, explain to them the blockchain technology and usefulness of bitcoin in the future with our failing government and fiat inflation. The more people that understand the way that bitcoin works and the benefits it has, the more adopted, main stream, utilized and normal it will become, which will in return make it go higher. One of the main reasons regular people don't like bitcoin is because people don't like things they don't understand, especially older or stubborn people that are very stuck in their ways with the current Fiat system that's failing before their eyes. People are more interested in BTC now as opposed to years ago, due to the fact that it's on the news almost every day, but most still don't fully understand how it works or even how to buy it. The news fails to explain that for some reason, but even though it is catching attention, if people don't understand how it works they won't invest into it. A lot of people didn't understand how the Internet worked and chose to turn a blind eye to it, I'm sure they're kicking themselves now for not listening maybe to that one family member or friend who tried to educate them on it. EDUCATION IS KEY [link] [comments] |
