US biggest loser if XRP is declared a security?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2021 03:24 AM PST

I know a lot of people are going to lose money if XRP is declared a security and obviously it will hurt Ripple financially but won't the biggest loser of all be the USA?

America is already behind the rest of the world when it comes to crypto, and Japan and the UK have both come out in the last week and declared XRP is not a security. The timing of these announcements seems to me to be a clear message to the USA that the rest of the world is over using Swift and paying a fortune in fees to the banks that control it for a piss-poor service that's 50 years old (not to mention the way the US uses it as a financial 'weapon'. You can't stop progress, and crypto, and in particular XRP and it's use as a currency transfer medium are Progress with a capital P. Ripple isn't going away, if they lose they will leave the USA and move to another country.

Does America think it's going to come up with it's own token to do what XRP already does? You can't re-invent the wheel. Why on earth would other countries use an American controlled token when they already have XRP out there doing the job and it's decentralised and not controlled by any one country? America already has the company that's the world leader in it's field, they'd have to be insane to declare XRP a security and make it unusable in the US. I know a lot of international companies do business through or with US banks but do you really think they won't find a way to at least minimise that business if they can't use XRP there? Like they say in Jurassic Park: Life will find a way - and big finance is the same.

It seems to me America has 2 choices here - declare XRP in it's current form to be not a security and start getting themselves up to date in the world of crypto, or declare it a security and fall further and further behind the rest of the world.

Report Reveals How Ripple Will Defend Itself and XRP Against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Jay Clayton gets blocked and will most likely be investigated.

    https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/06/19/justice-department-replaces-federal-prosecutor-berman-with-sec-clayton.html?__twitter_impression=true

    KEY POINTS

President Donald Trump said he will nominate Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton to replace Geoffrey Berman as the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York.

But Berman said he will not leave until Clayton is confirmed by the Senate, despite Attorney General William Barr claiming that Berman is "stepping down."

Berman's office is investigating Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and he had obtained convictions of the president's prior personal attorney, Michael Cohen, for financial crimes.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., called for Clayton to withdraw his name from consideration Saturday and for government watchdogs to investigate the White House's attempt to force Berman out.

    XRP and the Sec case

    Posted: 18 Jan 2021 10:24 AM PST

I'm hodling a decent amount of XRP since 2017 and recently got into crypto again. Now with all this negative stuff about this SEC case, what realistically are the chances for Ripple to win? (If they lose there will be a huge dip I guess until they move to another country and aim for the Moon again)

Anyone else have XRP with CoinCorner?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2021 11:15 AM PST

I've only just saw the email saying that due to the delisting tomorrow I would have to transfer my XRP to another Crypto currency, or get it moved to a wallet by the support team.

As I've seen this so late (7pm UK time) I'd rather move it to a wallet if possible, but was wondering what would happen to my XRP at the point of delisting (if they'll disappear into the void) as I'll need to get support to do it tomorrow when they open again.

I'm quite a noob when it comes to all of this (this is my first crypto purchase) so if anyone can recommend a cheapish wallet it would be very much appreciated!

    Selling XRP

    Posted: 18 Jan 2021 02:40 PM PST

Just wanted to know, if I own XRP on Coinbase can I still send my XRP to an exchange like Uphold and sell it there if the price does goes up substantially? I know Coinbase is halting trading but can you still send XRP to another exchange while trading is suspended?
