Is Ethereum mining more profitable now than before? Posted: 24 Jan 2021 08:21 AM PST I was watching a video building a mining rig with x6 RX 580 gpus that had a total hashrate of 180 MH/s, the guy in the video added this hashrate to the mining calculator and got only 74$ profit in a month. I went to the calculator myself, added the same hashrate & watt usage from his specs and now I am getting around $357 profit. Am I doing something wrong? [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Jan 2021 06:16 AM PST I have a gaming build until my mining Intel parts come in for the past few hours Ive been trying to get the following working. I have 2x 3060TIs I have connected one to the main x16 Slot and trying to use the second one on the2 riser. When Riser GPU is plugged in I cannot even boot into BIOS. I disconencted it, went into BIOS and enabled 4G decoding? option and plugged the second GPU in and same issue. If i plug the second GPU straight into the Mobo then it works fine but main GPU temps are around 72 which means memory might be even higher Ive tried 3 different riser. Ive used them before (2 years ago) they have been sitting in a box since then. what could be the issue? CPU: 5600X PSU: 1000W Platinum [link] [comments]
Can't reduce power on 3060 ti below 140W Posted: 24 Jan 2021 05:33 AM PST I just started running a GIGABYTE RTX 3060 ti on my rig and can't seem to get TDP below 140W. I've tried setting Power Limit % to 50, which as low as it will go in Afterburner, and I've also tried to set Power in minerstat to 120W or lower, but it seems there's a hard lower limit of 140W. I can raise TDP above 140W but not lower it below this level. I run all of my other GPUs (3x 3070) at 120W and easily get 60MH/s or higher, but this GIGABYTE card is less efficient given this weird power setting limitation. Has anyone else run into this problem with a GIGABYTE card or any other 3060 ti? [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Jan 2021 12:59 AM PST well that very big dilemma for me, 1070 8GB or 2060 6GB, or even 1660Ti 6GB? Well 1070 is old but we have 8GB.. , thinking about 2060, but it's 6GB and when 6GB cards will not be enough? all cards prices are almost same -+ 5% [link] [comments]

Hashrate drops by 10% when watching videos ? Posted: 24 Jan 2021 05:02 AM PST I have a 3060ti and when watching youtube or tv shows / movies hasrate drops from 60 mh/s to 55 mh/s. Just wondering if this is normal or if there is some setting I can change so that it doesn't happen ? [link] [comments]

Should I factor in GPU Riser power draw in addition to the GPU power draw? Posted: 23 Jan 2021 09:38 AM PST Hi all, Currently speccing out my 6x 3080 rig (for when they arrive!). I have a 450 PSU for motherboard and fans etc, and 3x 1000w HP server PSUs with breakout boards available for the GPUs and risers. I want to keep the risers and GPUs on the same power supplies so if PSU dies, there isn't any chances of causing damage to a card if its getting some power from one PSU and some power from another PSU. I understand 3080s draw approx 270w of power each which is 1620w in total for 6 cards. Theoretically I can power the 6 GPUs with two of the server PSUs safely. My question is, do the GPU risers draw power too? I read somewhere approx 75w each which is 450w which puts it over the limit for 2 server PSUs. Hoping someone can shed some light and advise me the best course of action. Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jan 2021 07:33 PM PST Hello everyone and thanks for helping out I just got a 3080 and I was trying to overclock by using reference points from you guys. From what I read you guys are getting 100+MH by pumping in + 1100 memory clocks However for my card, whether it's on base voltage or an undervolted profile. The memory clock cannot go past 800. Max I can get is +750 at around 94-95MH. I've tried undervolting to 750mv 850mv and 950mv. However I still cannot get through the +800 memory clock. MSI afterburner would freeze and The PC will shuts down itself. The temperatures on the card is only around 60 degrees. I also underclocked the card. It seems everyone is easily achieving +1100 or even +1500. Did I mess something up with the overclock. Or it's the thing about silicon lottery? Thanks again [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jan 2021 01:18 PM PST both rigs have 800mh/s, just rig with vega cards have little less power consumption, rig prices are the same. should i get vega rig or rx 580? and why? Thanks for answers 🙂 [link] [comments] |
