Where to start? Dividend Investor Starting Crypto Posted: 02 Jan 2021 06:51 PM PST So I'm fairly new to crypto, I have a six figure dividend portfolio and was thinking of taking 5-10k and putting it in crypto. Was wondering what everyone's thoughts on this was and where you'd personally put the money. I heard a lot of SEC regulations are attempting to come down this year, should I wait? What's the equivalent of dividends in crypto if any? Thanks in advance [link] [comments]

Noob question: Why do crypto traders trade perpetuals instead of spot? Posted: 02 Jan 2021 02:57 PM PST I kind of get what perpetuals are, basically a type of futures contract with no expiry date. However I don't understand why they are so popular. Traditional futures contracts make sense since they expire at a specific date but perpetual futures/swaps don't make much sense to me. If they closely track the price of the underlying asset, why not just trade the actual underlying asset on spot? Why bother with perpetuals? Is there something I'm missing? Can't you already get leverage/shorting on a spot exchange? Also are there any resources you would recommend for learning how various crypto derivatives work? [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Jan 2021 12:44 PM PST I, like many here, just got into crypto this year and will be filing taxes with crypto gains for the first time in a few months. Does anyone here have suggestions on calculating gains for taxes? I initially made accounts on Binance.US, Kraken, and Blockchain.com to try them each out and have made some trades on all 3. I now use primarily decentralized exchanges with Metamask wallet and use my binance account as an on/off ramp for fiat. What would you all recommend using to track gains and losses across all of these platforms? I've seen some paid solutions where you can import from some exchanges, but not all of them, and I'd rather do it myself anyway. Im open to paid solutions like that if there's one that can handle everything, but I'd be happy top us a spreadsheet or something if anyone has a template or something of that nature. Feel free to direct me elsewhere if there's a better place to post this or if you've seen another post that covers this. Any input is welcome, thanks! [link] [comments]
